So I cleared the final post game boss and only have two more piddly quests to do and then I've literally done everything there is to do in omega quintet.

yet, somehow I'll still have 6 unearned trophies left.

it doesn't make sense.  why would anyone make trophies that extend beyond the useful life of the game?  I think those remaining 6 trophies would take around 15 hours of post game grinding.  but it's literally not working towards anything else except the trophies.  I get that I'll probably do it because I have a problem, but it's so bizarre.  they could have made the requirements half and you could potentially have them cleaned up right around the time you have everything else cleaned up.  it would've been so tidy but noooOOoooo.

not that anyone is going to ever play this game but me at this point, but one of the most irritating things post game is the 'instant KO' effect.  you can up your immunity to it to an extent, but it's still instadeath and some enemies have it as a side effect of aoe attacks meaning the rng can wipe your party.  strangely the effect can still hit even if the attack whiffs so sometimes you'll see an enemy attack with a little 'Miss!' above your character and then they'll suddenly just crumple to the ground with 0 hp.

Glad I dont have whatever disease Mild has.  I just beat the story in Sly Cooper and got a couple piss easy trophies and then deleted the game and save files.  It wasnt all that fun to me.  Basic game with a terrible camera.

Am I the only one that hides things when you have a stranger coming over to do work inside your house (in my case, the cable man this morning)? I will hide almost anything of value in the off chance that they're a thief to make it look like my house just isn't worth the effort... and then maybe throw a doll on the couch over here, a ninja turtle figure over there, maybe a hand-drawn picture they brought home from school right next to the tv to make them think about the kids.

What's that thing called.... trust issues? Yeah, that's the thing I have.
Not me, but when the wife and I used to go to open houses on the weekends for fun we'd always make note of all the stuff we could've easily stolen. There were sometimes houses where we could've easily walked out with $2-3k worth of stuff in our pockets (including cash) during the open house that they or their spoiled kids just left laying around. I think that some collective part of us really wants to be a career criminal. I think about shit like this all. the. time.

No, but after the post below I will if Pete ever comes to Atlanta for a visit.

Not at all, I've always hid stuff when I know we have people coming over to do work. But I also always hid stuff even when my siblings friends would come over too. Trust no one lol.

Trust no one is right, but what the hell do you guys have lying around that you need to hide?  Cash and valuables should never just be lying around anyway.  They invented closets and drawers for a reason.

That score is just insane. I would have beaten the combined score of a couple of the matchups in our league. I am sure I will go back to getting my ass kicked next week.
Your score is riduclous. You're gonna bump me out of my almost guaranteed 2nd place losers spot into 3rd place loser. I've been unlucky as fuck in this league lol.

Work days where I forget both sets of headphones that usually reside in my backpack at home are shitty work days.  At least I can see my sweet sweet Lacy jersey in the reflection of my monitor.

Having a bit of an open house on Wednesday and this is definitely one of my worries. It's not completely open, just a few people my realtor wants to bring in, and he'll be there, but still. Lots of small things somebody could pick up. I'll be putting as much stuff out-of-site as I can.

Hmm, I wonder what they think it is, a snake maybe? They jump as if they are scared of their legs getting bit.

That's a shitty bundle. I was hoping some of them would be cool and clever.

Probably just tomb raider forza gears halo and fallout packaged with some of the past games in the series.

Microsoft is revealing an XB1 holiday bundle every day this week--the first one is for Rise of the Tomb Raider: http://www.destructoid.com/tomb-raider-is-the-star-of-microsoft-s-first-holiday-xbox-one-bundle-312833.phtml

1TB console + RotTR + TR:DE = $400, and it'll only be available at the Microsoft Store and Best Buy in the US.

No, I'm not sure why I posted this in PSNOT. I blame Monday.
What is the return policy at MS store? Maybe buy play and return. About the only exclusive I care about till Gears.

So in my attempt to be a better PSNOT(er) I went back and 100% this. A bit of a time sink for the triple perfect every level trophy. A really great game with fantastic controls though.

I hope this makes up for the fact that I won't platinum Metal Gear Solid V.

Didn't they already announce the Halo bundle though? I have a hard time thinking they will do an additional one on top of that.

On Saturday we were in Baltimore for the Baltimore Book Festival where my wife had a reading (she writes poetry) and when we are walking back to our car this fairly hot, and pretty drunk, young woman, who just so happened to have joined our pinball league a few weeks ago, yells out my name and charges over and hugs me. A little awkward. I don't think she went to the book festival.

She wants the "D".

Awesome.... the cable man is now officially late.  I kind of expected this, but I was hoping that an early appointment might help matters.

Now instead of making an effort to tidy this place up I think I'll just throw everything around and then find a way to mention that I have a shotgun that everyone in the house knows how to use.

Then I'll just stare at him the whole time he's here...

I can't take that seriously when he says "Touch-based games are fun - there are many games with really good design. But having sticks and buttons make things totally different." I mean, really?

FACT: Touch-based games almost always suck.
Some games are a good fit for a touchscreen. Like Disc Drivin' which is a game with shuffleboard mechanics. It's an online (or pass and play) race where you flick discs around a race course with various obstacles. Fun game, and I always have some matches going on my phone. That game was made for touchscreen.

Man, I'm not going to be particularly happy when dedicated handhelds completely die out. Unless they increase the battery life on my phone. And give me buttons. And offer more variety than the typical mobile titles.

You know what, I'm just not going to be particularly happy about this.
If they die out completely I'm probably going to have to get a gaming laptop or something to fill the void.

Going to have to disagree here. There are a lot of fun touch based games. Are they the same experience as one with a real controller? Certainly not. I think that was what he was trying to get across.

Part of the quote is the reason why your fact is definitely not a fact. Well designed games are fun regardless of platform or interaction method. If the barrier for entry was lower on real consoles, there would be just as much crap on them as there is mobile. That does not mean there are not still good games there.

I wrongly assumed his comment was directed towards touch-based games on Vita, not touch-based games in general.

NASA found water on Mars for real. Better start working on the anti-martian weapons. EDIT: somewhat overstated. They have the strongest evidence yet of liquid water (not ice) on Mars.

Finally beat Scott Pilgrim, but only because I used the money cheat.  What a grind that would have been to level up otherwise.  The hit detection on this game is pretty bad since you always seem to be slightly off to the side.

Anyway I beat the game over 5 minutes ago and I am still waiting for the credits to finish  because of course I want to sit here and read all the names of the people who made this shitty game. Thanks!

EDIT:  STILL GOING!  IT must be near 10 minute now...or more.

EDIT 2: Quit from XMB because fuck that shit.

Does going for 10 minutes seem like a long time for you?

Crap you missed another cut scene.

You will have to play the whole game again to see it.

I'm not sure why all these articles complain about Uncharted: GA.  I would be a happy SOB if we got more games like that one (minus the swipe boss battles and card collecting nonsense but I would even take that).

Decent kotaku article on why the vita flopped.

tl;dr: sony fucked it up. don't blame mobile.

Kinda curious what the attach rate for vita is now, I couldn't find anything too recent from a quick google search. I know at this point I own far more vita titles than anything else. Damn shame they didn't support this thing at all.
Uncharted Golden Abyss is not a shoddy spinoff and the 3DS sucks. WHERE IS THIS fuck ING KILLER LIBRARY OF 3DS TITLES? IT DOESN'T EXIST! Other than that the article is ok.
