Roughly how many hours in? I put 5 into FO4 and people were saying I need to put in at least 8 to get a feel for it. I just couldn't do it. Just don't have the patience to slog though 5+ hours of boredom to get to the good parts.
Yeah, I felt the same as you at first. FO3, New Vegas and Skyrim were way faster in setting the tempo and urgency of your "quest". FO4 seems massive at first and once over the hump, it really opens up.

Look people that like Fallout will tell you it takes a few hours to get into it. Thats bullshit. If you didnt like it after a few hours you wont like it later. It may get "better" the further your into it but that is every game. It takes time to get used to things in games. But you should have some inkling you like it after 5 hours.

For instance Need for Speed. I was annoyed by some things in Rivals and this last one but after a few hours it was a go. And I know I like racing games so I can give it more time as well.

I'd say you want to at least get a couple of dungeons in. That's around 5 hours, I think. You won't even get to your first combat section until around 2 hours in. The first dungeon is very introductory. The second dungeon is more true to what combat is like in the game, though you still only have 2 characters to play with at that point.

I tried FO3 years ago too but maybe only got a couple hours in and gave up. Just think they are too slow to get going for me.

This wasn't mentioned above but is one of the B:2S PS4 features:

I haven't played the game yet but this makes me curious. For those who have played it, is this something you'd actually care about?
No, it's not really that hard to put the game in chronological order, the chapters are labeled in which order they go.

That being said, I don't really understand why the game isn't in chronological order in the first place.

As for the game, I enjoyed it more than Heavy Rain til the end, which was bad and way too long. Not sure I'd ever want to play it again. But there are a couple great set pieces in there, and it was one of the absolute best looking PS3 games.

so is star wars battlefront worth a few days of dicking around trying to have some fun and get some trophies or is it just not that interesting? it's ready for me to pick up at the library but I'd rather throw it back in the pond for someone else to enjoy if it isn't all that.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

If you had to wait 5 (or more) hours for games to get good and be fun we would all quit playing games.

Yeah thanks. Not going to bother then. Just no way it is going to hold my interest.

Speaking of fallout 4, im still loving it.

I didn't mention this, but I started FO4 earlier this week (about 3 hours in so far, just escorted Preston and his group to Sanctuary) and I'm already loving it. It took approximately 5 seconds for my character to look more badass after leaving the home area thanks to a drifter corpse holding a sweet Drifter Outfit.

The more I play it, the less I like it. It's worse than Battlefield customization and map design wise. Also the so called single player missions are boring.

That happens too. If its not your deal, at least you tried it.

One thing I dislike is that the FO4 mirrors the Skyrim one, where items/perk allocation dictate how powerful you get. In FO3 you leveled more like a traditional rpg and could be a god at the endgame.

I was hoping for a good deal on a Miyazaki blu ray set for an xmas gift. Doesn't seem like such exists. I also didn't realize that the blu ray pricing on those are showing the Disney effect; $60 for Spirited Away is nuts.

Edit: Nm, Amazon search fail. Not sure why it listed some weird versions and imports instead of the standard BR/DVD combo which is only ~$22.

this sounds dopey but you kinda have to be willing to go all in with heavy rain to get anything out of it. I imagine the demo goes up through the scene in the mall and I think the game would seem dumb as shit if that was your impression of it. but if you play the whole game (and at least sort of like these sorts of qte adventure games) it's really really enjoyable.
I'm trying to remember what the demo entails as I played it, I think it was an encounter in an apartment and the first forensic scene.

Also it's not possible to skip cutscenes (at least in the ps3 version) so replaying for the plat could drive you a bit insane if they keep them unskippable in the remaster.

Until Dawn $16 with GCU on Black Friday is trading in to Amazon for $28.69 right now.

Before anyone asks you can usually go well past the ship by date on the trade-in by either printing your label before it expires or making a new trade-in and pasting in the old trade-in number when the link to the new one comes up.

Hopefully I can order 3 online, 2 to trade, 1 to play :)

For all you Fallout players, I have heard the loading times pretty much suck.  A friend of mine sprung for a SS HD and claims it has made a considerable difference.

That Skyscrappers game you played looks interesting. I guess Mild wont like it though since it doesnt require mindless grinding of 500 fights.

Yeah I am gonna give Battlefront one more shot tonight but I was pretty unimpressed Tuesday. Would be nice if BB added it to the trade in list before this weekend...

I know we all hate the XBOX but since Alan Wake will be my swan song with my 360:

Played the first chapter. Not sure if it will fall apart but...Really really digging the vibe of the game so far. I definitely loved Max Payne back in the day and this seems to be a more polished version of that with horror elements. I like their storytelling.

Guessing Quantum Break will be a pretty great game. An exclusive that I'd actually want on the X1.

After Metal Gear it was pretty nice to see a game that's constantly saving checkpoints. Sorry PQWAT (pequod)!

You'll probably get into it, or you won't within an hour or so. There is an opening bit which serves as a tutorial. Once you get past that, the mystery begins and you'll either be invested in the tale or you won't.

I'm thinking about trying to finish the from c to shining c trophy in ps3 street fighter 4 before I ditch my second ps3 so I can literally do mindless grinding of 500 fights for one trophy. does that sound like a good idea?

It is a different breed of fighting game. I will be reviewing it for the site soon, but a general description is it is a vertical fighting game (you have to continue moving up or risk being reset and losing a lot of life when you go off screen). It just throws trophies at you for things you are not even sure what you did half the time.

Wow, that didn't look like a Common plat based on the trophy descriptions. Pharm would probably love it if it appeared in a flash sale.

Or you could just get one to play and then trade and let two other people get in on the good deal.

If I'm finished with Alan Wake by then, but I'm guessing there will be enough copies to go around and not exactly the most sought after game I'm sure. Who knows maybe I won't even get 1 copy. It's all timing on BF. Sometimes they put shit up in the middle of the night. I get what you're saying though too :)
