No meetings in the middle of the day means I may take a two hour lunch to finish Crushing Uncharted today.

Then I can concentrate on going to bed early tomorrow night so I can play that shitty game called The Order all night on Friday.

Did anyone here miss out on the Borderlands Handsome Collection Claptrap in a Box Edition who is still interested? I'm cancelling my order today, just thought I'd check if there was anyone who really wanted it here before tossing it back into open waters.
I still have my preorder at Bestbuy.com in the hopes that they'll cancel it and give me a $50 GC.

Some of my favorite games got sub par reviews, although I'd be pretty surprised if this could hold a candle to something like binary domain.

Yeah, you read that right.
I'm 90% postive I will like Binary Domain more than The Order as well.

Just in case anyone cares, my initial impressions of the New 3DS are pretty damn favorable. Maybe I'm a little biased because I was playing on the coveted MM system (I went ahead and splurged on the NES link theme to put as the background and I think it was definitely $2 well spent). I actually played a game for 45 minutes with the 3D on the whole time. That's the first time I've ever played nearly that long. The head tracking thing is a game changer. Didn't get a headache like I had previously. That second stick nub thing is going to take some getting used to, though. The way it is positioned means if I am using it I can't hit any of the face buttons easily.
Yeah, its definitely worth the upgrade to me. The faster processing speeds are clearly noticable as well when loading just about anything. The c stick isn't going to even be needed for most games I'd imagine, but it sure is nice having it in MH4U.

I hated Binary Domain. I may try it again one day if I run out of games to play.

Its highly doubtful I will ever play it again.

Binary Domain was a great Gears-clone.  Fighting the robot enemies was a blast. They definitely should have abandoned that horrible system where you gain the trust of your team mates or whatever. That was dumb.

Much of your progress is stuttered as you are forced to stop and start through a level constantly, with no real flow to the events that unfold – just as you begin to get into the action, another long cutscene will pull you out of it, or yet another door will bar your path and arbitrarily halt you until it’s ready for your prescribed interaction.
This is one of the big problems I had with MGS2. Since you guys all love MGS2 I'm looking forward to seeing the reaction to this element of The Order. I'll probably play The Order fairly soon after release, so it'll be interesting to see if this bothers me the same way that did, and if so, if you all think it's fine here as well (assuming the stop and go behavior is as pronounced as Jim Sterling describes it.)

While technically you're right, it added this minor (and hilarious) Japanese sim flair which gave the whole game an extra layer of absurdity which I really enjoyed. Especially since a couple of weird events only occur with a high enough trust.

Anyway I was looking at getting this to replace it. Seems like it would be something I like. Anyone have it or tried it?

I have it and its not bad, the triggers work decent enough and its fairly comfortable. The grip part at the bottom could be bigger though but I like it well enough.

I like the looks of this one and it increases battery life. Those handle things look more comfortable than that other one too?

first link for the slim model, second link is the original. 35 is a little pricey.

Ponce de Leon (original recipe) has been sent back to the hellscape from which he emerged.  Tried fighting the Slimer a bunch of times last night and this morning and kept getting overwhelmed when I tried to go all gung ho and not take care of the Orko wannabes.  I had the most success using the Special class and hiding in the corner after every split.  Need more magic power and reserves though I think to be able to finish him off.  Came close several times.

Got sucked into side missions on inFamous 2 last night, like I always do.  Only was able to knock out 2 main story missions.  Time to buckle down.

Buy this one if you have a Vita-2000:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GZG8CV2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's cheap and works great. You can charge the Vita 2000 while it's on too.

Okay, after actually reading some of the reviews, I'm pretty excited to play through The Order. Sounds like the story is good (though it ends on a frustrating cliffhanger from what I gather), which is pretty important for these cinematic games. The overall reception reminds me of the reviews for Ryse: super pretty but super shallow. I really enjoyed that game, though.

I guess I have a reputation.

I bought a mini fridge to put in my office so I can bring in some better stuff to eat and not go out as much.  The first thing my coworkers asked when they saw me walk in with it was, "You going to keep beer in it?"

So watching the Kindafunny stream this morning, the biggest gripe with the Order was the pacing.  there are two chapters that are only cut scenes, no gameplay.  You go throguh many sections without shooting and just slowly walking.  The game itself is good when shooting and such, and the Lycan battle suck as the AI is bad.  It does look amazing and it runs well, no glitches reported yet.

I am still looking forward to playing it and beating it this weekend.

It was funny listening to some of you berate Nintendo yesterday on the 3DS and whatnot, as if you just figured out that Nintendo makes horrible decisions and is ran by a buncha fucking idiots.

Why are you going to cancel? Why not resell it? And it doesn't come out until a month from now so there's still a chance that they could cancel it themselves and compensate you for the "trouble".

They are doing pretty well for a buncha fucking idiots, at least in the handheld space.

The return isn't really worth the headache of worrying whether someone is going to dispute a $400 item arriving in satisfactory/working condition or at all. Also Amazon has it listed as arriving between Feb 18th and March 4th, which while likely a mistake I'd rather just avoid a stealth charge roughly a month before supposed release date.

Gamestop has started force bundling New 3DS XLs. This is going to suck for my kid. He just wants the handheld. Already has Majora's Mask. I guess he'll be waiting longer before he can buy one.

Hmm… can you buy the bundle, and return everything but the New 3DS XL? Maybe we could do that.

I was thinking this sounds a bit like Ryse. Amazing looking game a bit short on game play. Critics bagged on it but many gamers enjoyed it well enough. I think I will enjoy enough to play through it once but I doubt I will pick it up again later for cheap or have any real desire to replay it a year from now or something. Too bad they didn't flesh out a bit of co-op or something to give it some replay value.

Okay, normally I say I dont care about spoilers. But I would appreciate you stop talking about it now. We get it. Its a good game, that can drag and doesnt have anything new to add to gameplay.

Oh and its a Gears of War clone.

exact comparison given everywhere, it is our Ryse. I and many other reviewers have stated it very well could be a PS Plus game in the fall.

I would actually buy a X1 (if it were super cheap, like less than $100) just to play Ryse (and Dead Rising 3 and Sunset OD)

People were buying the Majora LE game + Strategy guide bundle and returning just the guide. So maybe.

And I don't know anything about Chevy Chase, I've never found him even the least bit funny. Wouldn't surprise me if he's an Eddie Murphy-sized prick though.
They talked trash about him with various degrees of subtlety on the Community commentary tracks while he was still on the show. For instance, he was always taking off early and forcing them to pick-up his shots from the episode later. One time at the end of the season he took off early and there were no days of shooting left so they had to scramble to come up with a new ending tag to the last episode shot (he was supposed to be featured prominently in it)
