What weapon did you start with? I heard the sawblade was pretty good too.
Yeah, sawblade is what I started with. It was good, but I keep getting this idea in my head that the more expensive weapons that show up in the store later will be better. When I saw the holy blade for 20,000 I thought "This one must be awesome"! Thankfully it is pretty awesome. But I'm not sure that any weapon is much, much better than any of the others (just a guess).

I actually just got around to starting Bloodborne tonight. After a bit getting used to the controls (for some reason my mind kept wanting to press X for dodge and Triangle for heavy attack, the former effectively getting me killed and the latter wasting my heal pots) I mopped up Cleric Beast and Father Gas already. Then took a break from the tenseness of exploring new areas and helped a handful of people beat their bosses with the Resonant Bell. Games not bad, but the solo aspect of it really bores me. I have to be in a party chatting with my buddy whos playing or I don't even really feel like pressing on lol. Really looking forward to Chalice dungeons at least.
Two bosses down in one session? You're definitely better at this than me. Takes me a number of hours between bosses. Mostly exploring, sometimes grinding to be stronger for the fight. I haven't touched the multiplayer yet. Not sure that it's up my alley. Exploring the environments and finding neat items/shortcuts is what I'm enjoying most. The level design is top notch.

Bloodborne update:

Have been exploring for a while and thanks to mpaullin, which encouraged me to check out Ludwig's Holy Blade. That thrust attack is the shit and it staggers any enemy now. Just realized MSU, you must be really ahead to be +9 in your hunter axe. I'm +6 on Ludwig's after farming a bit and leveling my character up.
Sweet. Glad you gave it a second chance. It is definitely awesome for taking down some of the big lumbering enemies. I'm working on fighting Vicar Amelia right now. Only tried a few times before going to bed. She has one move which eveidentally kills me in one shot so I'm gonna have to get better at avoiding that.

The Wire is good, but honestly I think you all are duped by the 4th season being excellent, that you think the rest of it was too. Season 1 was good, season 2 and 3 were bad for about half or more of the season, season 4 is very good. We haven't gotten to season 5 yet, but everybody says it's the worst so I may not watch it. That doesn't sound like best show of all time to me.
Season 5 is probably my least favorite, but it's not bad. There is one storyline that got too far-fetched considering how realistic everything was in previous seasons. They actually wrap everything up really nicely, though. It's also shorter than the others so it at least won't take you as long.

I couldnt finish Strider before end of March. fucking collectables. I think I missed a few as well in the Balrog section. Oh well.
Apparently you can get the trophy for smashing all Large Canisters--4 of which are on the Balrog--even if you missed those. Try getting the rest of them anyway and remember that there are 8 in the final section after the point-of-no-return (4 in the first area, 2 on the elevator/second area, 2 immediately before the final boss).

Omg, did you guys know if you have the kids you can buy toys on Amazon?!

Kept up my streak of 4+ games a month in 2015. Still haven't made it all the way through Diablo 3 storyline, but I should knock that out in the next few days.

How long is it taking you guys to get through Type-0? Debating if I want to start that or Arkham Origins next.

Type 0 is pretty quick. I think my final play time was around 18 hours and I dicked around a lot.

Dem some good games. The first LoS and SW unleashed were awesome. And we should all know about JC2 now. And every other game here has had good reviews from most of the SNOT.

Except maybe Splatterhouse. That game was bad enough (REALLY bad load times) that I quit it.

I do like how they're now doing in store pickup, of course the store near me isn't currently set up to do so.

Good stuff. I got completely wrecked on stage 9 over remote play. 60 fps my ass! I'm kind of glad it doesn't have new trophies so I don't get all nuts over it.

We should get a friendly score chase going in hardcore mode. Looks like munky is kind of an ace.
Who is this ace munky of which you speak? The only munky I know just plays the same level for 4 hours straight until he gives up crying without 3 stars to show for it.

deal doesn't seem to apply to 3D Dot Game Heroes for some reason, but it's still hard to beat that price of $7

Good game for boosting TT score as it's not really that hard (other than a couple of the mini-games), and only about a 1/5 of the trophies do you pick them up automatically in the course of playing. Also 3 playthroughs required.

Pretty meh club nintendo list. Kinda hoped they'd go out with a bang. Probably end up grabbing yoshi, donkey kong, or ultimate nes though.

that's more like nintendo. i'm not seeing much either. donkey kong tropical has a $25 trade in at gamestop, and 23 at best buy/walmart. looks like half-ish off handsome collection to me. thanks nintendo!
Yeah, I might go that route, too, especially since I need GS credit. If Nintendo had bundled LoZ: Oracle of Seasons/Ages together as one gift, I might have chosen that, but alas.

You got the plat in just 18 hours?
18ish in game hours, yeah. I skipped most of the cutscenes and optional stuff though which would probably (literally) add 4+ hours. I only glitch leveled Ace up to around level 60 (a couple others to around level 30-35) and used him for most of the game on Cadet difficulty. I went to the classroom between every mission for lectures to get the free xp for the whole team and I think they ended up around level 20. I spent some time just messing around with different party members in expert trials for a while and doing field battles, but otherwise I just did the main game.

Then I got to the end where you have to split up in to two parties and I wished I'd messed around with the other characters more so I knew what the hell I was doing. Pretty cool game though, I enjoyed it well enough especially for what I ended up paying.

so what you're saying is, i'm basically doing these side tasks for no reason? other than exp that i could get easier by doing the arena stuff

On a related note, New Super Mario Bros 2 has a trade value of $19.80 w/pro at GS. Might just flip the copy I got for $15 at target yesterday and grab the code for that one.

mailed it!

You have to do one or two to get eidelons for that trophy I think, otherwise all the regions just free themselves as the game goes on so the expert trials don't really do anything wrt trophies. By the beginning (end?) of chapter 6 you can visit all the necessary cities for the 'liberate and visit all cities' trophy without doing any trials and it'll still pop no problem.

Edit - additional piece of type 0 advice. I'm sure the game spells it out but I missed it - it takes 12 in game hours for a chocobo egg to hatch. You burn 6 hours just by leaving akademia. The lower tier chocobos seems to have more offspring per egg. Therefore, if you want to get through that trophy for getting 100 chocobos hatched - mate regular chocobos, use greens whenever you can, and once the egg appears if you have 12 hours or more until mission day just leave the school and come back in twice and your chicks will be ready. I think it took me until chapter 5 to finish and I was pretty on top of it (in case you didn't know chapter 7 is when you're locked down and can't go back to do side stuff anymore).

Pushmo World looks interesting. Anyone have any thoughts on it and/or play Pushmo or Crashmo?
All of the 'mo games are absolutely fantastic. Very satisfying puzzles that start off easy and ramp up. One of the best implementations of 3D on the 3DS versions as well, but not needed. Highly reccomend if you like puzzles.

Though keep in mind they aren't that expensive to begin with, and World was on sale recently when I picked it up. More expensive games are likely the better option.

Gamefly is f'd up. I finally was able to reset my password and it took, and signed me in, but then if I try to login later it fails with both the old and new password. I guess they just don't want me as a customer.

To be fair it was a pretty long session. Died 3 times to Father Gas. First attempt he was two swings from death. The second two it was clear frustration kicked in as I didnt even get close. Took a breather and farmed trash mobs for a bit, went back and toasted him. Cleric beast was a joke.

I really cant wait for Chalice dungeons with randomized loot witth buddies, but the standard coop mode with the bells is pretty neat. If you answer someone's call you're in their world till you die, they die, you choose to leave, they remove you or you beat a boss of the area. So if you want to just explore with a friend you can till your hearts content provided neither of you die or kill a boss. To visit a friend you each just set the same password in the games network settings before ringing the bells. Also, if you die as a visitor you can simply ring the bell again and go right back provided your friend is still alive. The beckon bell stays active until they die or shut it off. That's a great thing since it costs 1 insight every time you ring it. It costs 0 insight to answer calls with the other bell. The cool thing is if you die while visiting someone you dont lose any echoes, you're simply returned to your world. You also retain any items/echoes you earned whilst there.
