Looks like Proteus is going to take this one.  Glad to see it, Spelunky had a huge target on it's back.  But even with all that hate it still couldn't up-end what in fact is a terrible terrible game.

Next up is Vita GOTY!

In all fairness Spelunky probably should get the best and worst title. Hell of a game!

Ironclad Tactics hits PS4 on Tuesday. Priced at $14.99, but 20% off for PS+ members. Includes all the add-on campaigns from the PC version:

Card-based tactics game with robots set in the civil war. =P~
Card? Tactics? Sounds like a perfect storm for me, but I honestly have no interest in that game after the trailer.

Sellout.

Our state just passed an amendment stating that we will NEVER have an income tax.

2 months later we're discussing a $.40 tax on every gallon of gas. Way to fuck everybody at the bottom over, jerks.
Umm the income tax would never go to road work. The gas tax covers road work only.

fuck over bottom? Who owns vehicles that are large with large tanks? It disproportionately taxes the rich over the poor. The poor also ride the bus, no gas tax there...

This vita list makes me a little sad. I know there's good titles in there, but I feel like the vita had a much better year than just 2 exclusives.

Watching Evolve matches on twitch. I think it definitely looks fun, although it looks like their plan to keep people playing is I guess having to unlock everything? Whoever said a campaign a la left 4 dead would've been a good idea was probably spot on.

what does the size of a gas tank have to do with anything? The tax affects the amount you drive. The size of your tank is not a issue. I also wonder why you think poor people do not drive. A person living paycheck to paycheck is not poor?

Size of your gas tank and size of vehicle you drive most certainly affect how much you pay in gas....

Person a drives small car with 13 gallon tank that gets 30 mpg, person b drives large SUV with 25 gallon tank that gets 15 mpg, who is paying more per month in gas tax provided they are driving the same amount of miles per month?

The tax does not affect the amount you drive. Gas is an inelastic good.

If you define living paycheck to paycheck as poor, then god damn near all of the US of A is poor. You can make 100k plus and live paycheck to paycheck.

Poor is generally defined by the poverty line, which is currently any family of 4 making less than 23,850 per year.

I go out for long lunch for a change and I am not here to do my usual let's avoid the politics and religion soap box rant when it starts up.  So here it goes now.

There is no possible positive outcome of us trying to discuss that stuff in this thread.  People are just going to get angry at each other.  Please, can we agree not to continue on or start up new conversations on that stuff?

Well another null vote for me. I have not played any of the ones in the list. I do plan to play Danganronpa 2 assuming I like the first one when I finally get to it. The rest I know I will not be playing.

Putty Squad not being on the list is in injustice!

It's been free on mobile for a while. I tried playing it on my phone but wasn't quite into it. Small screen might be an issue, I think it's designed more for tablets.

you are making blanket statements that has nothing to do with the actual situation--

I guess the entire state lives in the same house. I do not understand how you assume everyone in the state drives the same distance at all times. The tax is a usage tax. if you have a big tank and drive 5 miles a day, you will pay less than somebody with a small tank driving 30 miles a day. Is that really so complex?

as for your definition of poor- The term poor is a general term. You are stating a family of four making 25k a year is not poor. The definition of poor is irrelevant to the issue. The issue is there are many of americans living paycheck to paycheck. When raising taxes these are the people affected the most. Making 100k, without discretionary income, is not living paycheck to paycheck. that is a lifestyle choice

Making 25k while raising a family of four is a hardship- or in your definition not poor especially if they drive

Im not stating that 25k a year is not poor, the US government states what is and what is not poverty.

Income tax can be used on roads. It may vary on the location as to whether that's the case or not, however.

I was providing the gas tax as an example of how they'll be using transaction-based taxes to replace the income tax revenue. Transaction-based taxes (sales tax etc.) have a heavier impact on lower-income households. This is the same across the board, not just on gas--the lower your income, the harder you get hit by sales tax and the like.

Really what I'd like to see from a taxation standpoint would be a flat tax rate for everybody, businesses included. Though I'd say tourist stuff should get a lower corporate tax, but have transactional taxation to make up for it--in other words, lower corporate tax to encourage tourist businesses, which brings in people from out of state and the like and then takes their money at the counter via tourism sales tax.

BTW I'm still enjoying Duke 3D, though the levels having access cards and secret areas everywhere is something I'd forgotten about. I'm having to look at walkthrough videos to figure out where to go next in some spots. I guess I've forgotten the maps somewhere in the past 20 years.  =P~

Income tax wouldnt go to road work though. The gas tax is explicitly there to cover roads. The gas tax goes into a fund for roads and is the only way TN funds that, minus the money from the federal gas tax. Which is pretty stupid. The states actually collect that, then send it to washington, who then holds it hostage unless you meet certain criteria, and its not guareenteed that money collected by your state will all come back to your state. IE TN collects 10 million in Fed gas tax, might only get 8 million back. We actually do kinda need the gas tax increase, hasnt been increased since like 89 I think, and we have shit roads here as it is and there is something like 8 billion in backlog of projects needed.

Income tax would be even worse on anyone making anything as the "poor" would definitely not have any skin in the game as "poor" people would get it all back in a refund, much in the way that less than 50% of us households pay ANY federal income tax.

Wait, so we dont get angry about what games people like or dont like!? fuck you Gator.

Seriously though I know I have seen you say this before and its probably correct. Although I think most of us have shown the propensity for thick skin around here so people should be able to handle it if they really want to talk about it. We shouldnt have to police the thread and what people talk about. Thats why I like it here.

Not here, usually not very good looking.

I bet the ones in tampa have some hotties though.
One time my waitress at Hooters was a pregnant chick, although she did have some big fat titties.
We stopped going to the Hooters closest to us because the girls started going downhill. We also got a pregnant chick once and that was the last straw. So we started going to Winghouse because they always have hot chicks there and they wear even sluttier outfits. Winghouse food is not nearly as good as Hooters food though and we really do like the Hooters wings. Maybe its because Hooters started in Clearwater (across Tampa Bay from us) all those years ago they make better food around here, I dont know.

And this time the chicks were pretty good. Though they still didnt have the sluttier outfits.

Do people really get angry about what others do or dont like? I think it is more how people present opinions that get people upset and not the opinions themselves. Even then though, it will not be divisive like those 2 subjects always end up.

I completely agree about us being able to talk about almost anything. Any other topic is one where people can actually have a conversation or debate. Politics and religion in the country has become an us and them with no middle ground. Even if there are some of us who could find middle ground in those conversations, like I would like to believe, I can guarantee that number will be smaller than the number who will find some new villain of the thread because they are apparently red or blue.

With that said, I am by no means the policeman of the thread. I can't stop it, but I would definitely prefer if we would stay away from any socioeconomic or religious debates for the reasons above. It seems the majority agrees based on responses to my previous pleas to avoid it, but maybe I am wrong. It would not be the first time.

Super random but Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate 3DS is attaching a free $10 gift card to a pre-order at Best Buy. I might grab one at $32 just to sell and keep the gift card.

Edit: more like $34 after tax, doesn't seem as worth it, unless you want the game anyway.

Oh, fun new poll after the game of year business is done.

Red or Blue with no clarity as to what it describes. Id go blue for UK and CFC.
