It's also my favorite timeperiod in american history aesthetically. I really want to enjoy it. The most entertaining part for me:The entirety of Season 7 was me just watching because I had invested so much time into the show already. I didn't really enjoy any part of it. Season 1 and 2 were slow but as I mentioned the characters/setting/acting kept me intrigued. The show finally ratcheted it up a bit at the end of season 3 and into season 4. 5 started dragging and then I limped through season 6 as well.
Pity that a show with so much potential ended up being so god damned mediocre.
one night I said to my wife "ya know at some point they're going to just have this graphically gory moment out of nowhere, like someone will get a hand or foot cut off and they won't shy away from it." and the next night was the john deere carnage.
I felt like a genius!
