Awesome tyler. I will finish gow at some point. I started watching Ray Donovan season 2 last night after the disappointing true detective. Ray Donovan is much more entertaining. I think I will plow through more of it tonight. No gibberish nonsensical monologues. Just sex lies and videotape.

Boxes of Golden Crisp have $10 off of $25 purchases at microsoftstore.com.  Works on currency cards and pre-orders so Rare Replay is 19.99 and they give a $10 code on top of that.  Kroger has them 3 for $5 right now.

I tried watching Ray Donovan but bailed 3/4 through the first episode. Had trouble liking a character that immediately comes across as a cheating asshole with a short temper but is too much a pussy to kill Jon Voight.

Does the show change from that, or was my first impression the correct one?

That would be amazing if they stacked. Might be worthwhile for PC games as well, for those in here that do that. They tend to have decent sales on Blizzard and CoD games on occasion.

 
I knew there was a reason I haven't tried to sell anything on ebay in over 5 years. Anybody here collect old PS2 games? I have a few rare ones.

I'd ask why CAG doesn't have a marketplace like they used to but I'm pretty sure I know why...cheapyd is a lazy fuck and is doing the bare minimum to keep his moneymaker going.

Seriously though I dont remember the first episode exactly because I saw it two years ago. But yes Ray and every character on the show has some sort of emotional issue. Just like real life things are more complicated than they first seem. Ray is a total badass when it comes to other people but he is a head case with his family and the shit that he has seen, done and lived through.

Your complaints specifically: His job requires him to be an asshole and of course he cheats on his wife. What rich dude (especially on a TV show) that has a 20 something hotty hit on him wouldnt? Obviously the family and his relationship with his wife has issues. And Jon Voight is his dad. No matter how much you hate someone its hard to kill family. Especially when your other siblings and your kids love dad/gramps.

So Therm would kill his dad with no thought to it apparently.

The SEC Network is showing the top 20 SEC games from last season. I'm watching #17, the Ole Miss / LSU game, right now. Damn, I'm ready for football season.

And I won't be watching #16, USC / Kentucky; too painful.

I'm having a hard time biting on anything from the flash sale.  Most of what I would be interested in are decent candidates for plus... considering Bulletstorm, but other than that I'm not really feeling anything.

 
Finally got the Demon's Souls plat, so that's another one down for #JugularJuly. I'll probably play some lighter fare (Another World and Sonic the Hedgehog, maybe) before starting GoW2.

Also, PS Level 30! :D/

My jugular July has been a dissapointment, gaming wise. I haven't even played my ps3 once since June 25th. I'm supposed to be playing Bayonetta, and finishing up Fallout 3 yo...
 
I'm watching this weird game show where people have to defuse a bomb by answering trivia questions otherwise it explodes and they get slimed. It's kinda cool. Much better than that Bullseye Bullshit that was on right before it.

Picked StarDrone Extreme for $1.

  • 60 levels
  • crossbuy PS3/VITA
  • Two trophy list with 15 each
  • playing the vita version, no problems so far. 41 out 60 done.

Day 2 of Godzilla and I'm still entertained. Progression is glacial though - there's like a hundred upgrades and I've only been able to get one after hours of playing. This has to be a 40+ hour 100% unless I'm missing something major.

And you skip the opening cutscene with the touchpad! goty
 
yeah i ended up getting 10 blessing, all skeleton equipment and juggernaut (i had 165 health) trophies also. it was a blast. sooo hard. those nymphs of the sweetwoods saved my ass on that final 'world'

 
Finally beat that stupid GW boss, now i can beat my head against the wall trying to 3-star everything.  You wouldn't think I'd be enjoying it as much as I am but this game is so addicting.

I'm better at recognizing Simpsons episodes by title, but I couldn't name that many off the top of my head.

Am I the only one that thinks the "Simpsons isn't watchable past Season 10" mentality is bullshit? Oh sure, the animation quality is a giveaway of a later season, yet there are so many great episodes to be found after "the bad seasons".

There's certainly a downward swing that takes effect around that time, but there's some really good post-season 10 episodes too. Tomacco, the Mel Gibson episode, and the Behind the Laughter episodes all come from season 11. The weed episode in season 13 is pretty good and the one where Apu cheats on Manjula is funny too.

But there's also way more unbelievable and insane episodes in those later seasons too. Also a massive over-reliance on guest stars, and using them to fuel the entire episode. So whereas Season 4 has like 18 really good episodes, Season 11 only have about 6 or 7.

I stopped watching around the time they went to HD, which according to Google was during Season 20.

 
Yeah, I'm not going to say season 10 is the cutoff, but the more recent the season the more unbearable they get.  The new stuff is unwatchable. 

I'm just glad the movie was good.  I wasn't expecting much when it came out with the way things were going.

just spent 5 hours playing one endless session of hand of fate. I made it to dungeon 30 with over 1000 gold saved up and 100 food and 200 hp and then it all fell apart. That was freaking awesome. lots of rare trophies, and damn it was just crazy. immovable armor and mage gloves for the win. and like 15 blessings. i had so much going on and then got caught stealing and lost my food and gold and then botched the altar and lost all my blessings and then royal chamber took me from 220 hp to 60. oh wells. crazy awesome fun

Swartzwelder helped on the movie - I'm sure that contributed to it being good.

A lot of people choose 10 as the cutoff because that's around when the writing went downhill. You started having writers who were more fans of the show than they were good writers.

 
I am having the worst weekend in gaming.  first one of the bigger trophies for Rory Mcilroy glitched on me and never popped, literally stayed up all night working on it and then nothing, so no plat for me.  And now I'm only a couple of minutes away from the plat in Batman and the game is crashing at the same exact part each time!!!!!!  UGH!!

I'm not disagreeing; I was referring to him mentioning that some people refer to everything after season 10 as unwatchable. There's a noticeable dip but it wasn't until much later for me that I started feeling like I was wasting my time watching them.

We got a DVR for the first time about a year ago and I decided to start recording episodes since I hadn't watched it regularly in a long time. The handful of episodes I watched left me wondering how much longer they were going to be on the air. I know people watch a lot crap shows, but at this rate I don't see how they can keep from bleeding viewers until they have to take it off.

Pancakes, Stotch, and Zimm:  What did you guys think of Master Reboot?  I saw where Tyler hammered it pretty hard and I was wondering if you guys had a different opinion.  As cheap and as short as it is I was thinking about giving it a go, but if it is pure garbage I'll pass.

 
I know Tyler already bitched about the end game stuff on God of War, but I felt left out so I am going to pile on.  When there is over 30 minutes of junk you can't skip AFTER the final boss battle really ends, there is a real problem.  The game itself is fun but that is just so annoying and useless.  Way to leave a terrible taste in the players mouth after they likely enjoyed the game.

 
Played some of Soldner X 2 last night (on PS3). Pretty good game. I like that you unlock levels by finding secret keys which gives you another reason to replay levels. At least I like it while I'm finding them. If I can't unlock all the levels I'll hate it! Also glad it includes the DLC. I mean it's no Jamestown+ but it's good.

Do you have to wait for the credits before the trophy pops? I'm guessing you have to wait for the credits to get the normal clear save in order to play Titan, but do they really put the Titan trophy at the end of 30 minutes of nonsense?
