Went and return/rebuy'd DQ and also grabbed Transformers. Money went right back to the gift card with no problem. ~12$ difference to swap. Only thing I missed this black friday was Divinity, but I can wait for that to hit ~30 with GCU.

Finally finished House of Cards.  Yeah it can be slow at times but I loved the power and psychology of it.  The mind games are a mind fuck.  And the acting is phenomenal.  Pretty damn awesome overall.

I just found out Breaking Bad is in 4K too and I missed a few episodes when I watched it so I am going back now to see what I missed even though I know the ultimate outcome.

How's Abyss Odyssey?
It's alright. I picked it up on a splurging whim. I remembered reading about the game before it was released and thought it sounded interesting; at least different than what I'd been playing.

It's an action-adventure game with a few roguelike elements sprinkled in; the main one being a procedurally generated world map. Your character gains experience and levels up as you beat enemies, and you unlock new special moves as you level up. When your character dies, a soldier takes its place, and if you can get the soldier to the alter in the level it will revive your character. Otherwise, if the soldier also dies you lose any items you collected, and start at the beginning of a new map. You do keep your experience and gold upon death.

The premise of the game is that a warlock's dream haunts the town you live in, and you are fighting your way to the bottom of the abyss to confront the warlock. I've beaten the warlock once, and in the process unlocked some additional playable characters, so I'm working my way through the game with one of them now.

Trophy-wise, there isn't a whole lot and no plat. The PS4 'extended' edition includes an online PvP mode which I have messed with. For me, it's a quick change of pace game that I can play for a little while and then come back to later.

Platinum is making a Ninja Turtles game. It's gotta be better than the WayForward one.

Madchemist, now that Kirby is likely going to UGAly with Richt getting axed, who are you hearing will be the next target for the job? I am listening to Finebaum because I wanted to hear all the reaction and someone brought up Muschamp (Schlabach I think) and it shocked the hell out of me.

I am wondering if Missouri and/or South Carolina take a run at Richt.
I think until he 'officially' signs his new contract with Houston, Herman is still the No. 1 target. After that, it's anyone's guess. I did hear Muschamp's name mentioned today, but I don't think most Carolina fans (me included) want a coach who was run out of Florida. I've heard a few people throw Richt's name into the mix since his departure from UGAly was announced. I would give Richt consideration. The guy was a winner at Georgia. Yeah, he couldn't win a National Championship, but he did win two SEC championships (two more than Carolina has) and six division championships (five more than Carolina has). To me, if you can't get a young up-and-comer like Herman, someone like Richt could be a step in the right direction in the progression of building a winning program here. With our luck, he'll go somewhere like Missouri and be a thorn in our side for the next ten years.

If I had my pick, I've said from the start that Dantonio would be No. 1 on my list. He's a Gamecock, and a proven winner. Yeah, he doesn't have recruiting ties in the south, but with his name I think he'd be able to get recruiting going ASAP. Also, he's a defensive minded coach, which is what wins in this conference. Do I think he'd leave MSU for here? Probably not, but it never hurts to ask.

I bought the Lego Movie blu-ray that was posted here the other day, but afterward I realized we already have it on DVD. Not sure the kids are going to be excited about receiving a blu-ray version of something we already have even if it's HD. Probably going to return that.
I swear you posted this before.

Damn. The Rainbow Six: Siege season pass looks worthless. I mean, all the maps and new operators are going to be free so the shit they have listed for the $30 season pass are weird bonuses like $5 of in game currency and a 5% permanent XP bonus among other things.

Some cag is mad that he bought the crew complete package on xbone earlier for $20, a pricing error, wants a refund, they won't give it to him, so now he is going to do a charge back through paypal. Permaban on Xbox incoming.

What a goon. If he posts more tonight or tomorrow you should post here to remind me to go back in there, I wanna see if he actually goes through with it.

Kick and Fennick is really good. It's like a poor man's 'Splosion Man. Its challenging and a lot of fun. I wish they had gone with a different art style (really any other art style in the world would be an improvement). Who wants to play a game as a towheaded child? Definitely contributed to me not ever bothering to start it up before now. But it's surprisingly good.

If you play it, learn the right stick & R-button method. The touch screen gets annoying to use after a while, though it works and is very accurate.

Will you go for 100% or does it seem too difficult for that?

I still have the hardest levels in front of me, but it seems doable. I'd have to go back and grab a lot of collectibles from the earlier levels though. I'll see how I feel based on how tough the last 19 levels are. It's a pretty big game, with 45 decent sized levels.

man these last two chapters of zat are rough. Got to the very end of army of darkness and half the team abandoned after one death. On sniper elite even with spawns set to 1 player that sequence is pretty tough with two people. we kept dying at the third door (with the elite).

Oh well, time for work. fuck work.

As predicted by a wayward bird creature, 10% off all electronics and video games today only with the ol' Carthweel.

Doesn't work on prepaid cards and Bose and Sonos and Chromecast and fancy cameras and the usual stuff.

Rewatching Breaking Bad reminds me why I wanted to punch Walts wife in the face.  She is the worst.  Thank the lord for fast forward.

b2g1 on most new x1/ps4 games next week at bby. Excludes fallout 4 and battlefront as well as collectors editions.
Glad I didn't pass up Targets buy 2 get 1. Battlefront at the time was more interesting to me then Fallout 4 but wasn't available. Got to try Fallout 4, COD BO3 and Uncharted. Traded Uncharted to Best Buy for a few bucks more then I paid for it. I would have probably wanted FO4, JC3 and Battlefront if I hadn't already picked up a bunch of games.

Guess these two trade in for more then they cost so they decided to exclude them. Did they have a similar restriction last year?

Sooo.. did you lose your job or get fired or something? Or are you really just drowning in spare vacation time?

Follow up question: can your new TV do picture in picture with inputs so that you could watch Netflix and play ps4 at the same time?

Spare vacation time. Even after taking all this week and a bunch of random days over the last several weeks I will still have nearly a week left for this year that I will carry over. I didnt take many days the first 9 months of the year.

My TV does have a some side by side or picture in picture setting that I havent messed with. Thanks for the little project I can work on later.

Spare vacation time is the best...currently sitting on 3 weeks worth right now. Of course I live in a state that actually gets snow so probably gonna use a chunk of days on that this year.

Way to join the party super late! I was saying it was a fun game a long time ago. Scrub.

Hmm, I wonder if I wait until I pick up the in store order I placed yesterday for Dragon Quest, Snoopy, and Transformers until Sunday, if Snoopy or Transformers will adjust to being free. Probably not, right?

yeah I get 4 weeks plus three personal days and 6 six days a year to use. we have to use them all each year though except sick days. we can carry over 6 sick days a year so my first year I carried them all over so I always have 12 and try to use up 6 each year so i keep rolling what i can in case i get really sick one year. i usually carry a couple vacay days (unofficially) too though and work it out with the boss.

Definitely not, and wouldn't their prices auto-adjust to the regular prices since they would likely no longer be on sale at that point (assuming you didn't already pay for them)?

Me:  "Jesus I'm on the bus.  Calm down."

I finished the story mode stuff in Dragon Quest Heroes last night...only to be greeted by a 10-to-20+ hour postgame. Awesome!

...But also fuck because I'm starting Just Cause 3 today!

Nah, in store doesn't really have any control over what pricing your online orders are made at. The most you could do is cancel, then pick them up at store pricing, but that would ring up at the regular pricing (minus the free game) instead of the black friday or cyber monday prices.

Looks like now I've got Shovel Knight waiting for me at the library. I should return something I suppose.

I did drop some hold requests including Battlefront. I think Shovel Knight was the last one.

I'm liking Nova-111 so far, got to level 5 or 6ish (of 16). Really regretting not starting it on vita though, I feel like I"m too far in to switch versions, and for whatever reason there's no cross save like I assumed. Been remote playing mostly, but it'd be much easier if I were just on the native version.

Finished the last of the Saints Row 3 DLC last night.  Those were some fun extra shit (except for the skydiving through rings to kill fuckers on rooftops bit in the Genkei Bowl one).  Glad I got it.

Just 35ish car stealing challenges and 10 or so regular challenges until 100% and plat.

I'm almost tempted to start up 4 right away too.
