McConahuey would be a great fit for Flagg. He just oozes asshole and douchebag in every role. I can't imagine anybody better for the part.I'll admit, I don't know any of his work. I'm open to both an unknown and a well known dude here. I know Javier Bardem was in the running at one point.
And seems Matthew McConahuey might play Randall Flagg, which means nothing to you since you haven't read them.
I did not know that Randall Flagg was a character in the Dark Tower series too. I know the character from The Stand though.I'll admit, I don't know any of his work. I'm open to both an unknown and a well known dude here. I know Javier Bardem was in the running at one point.

Apparently people who've read the entire series say this is a bad idea because there are some plot elements directly referring to Roland's white-man-ness (he looks similar to Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name), but maybe they're just Stephen King fanboys and it could work anyway.Any of you nerds read Stephen King's Dark Tower saga?
Seems Idris Elba is in the running to play Roland.
Can't wait to see these on the big/little screen.
I get it man.My apologies if that came out as Thermian. I meant to convey I thought they had finally made the multiplayer kind of fun, but then removed it altogether in the last couple of iterations. I know some people loved Wolfpack. I hated it just like I hate 99% of competitive MP. I do tend to really like co-op MP though.
He's actually in a lot of Stephen King's works since it's all supposed to tie together in the same universe in some way. According to wiki he's in at least 9 of King's books.I did not know that Randall Flagg was a character in the Dark Tower series too. I know the character from The Stand though.

You've never watched The Wire?I'll admit, I don't know any of his work. I'm open to both an unknown and a well known dude here. I know Javier Bardem was in the running at one point.

As I said, I haven't read the books, so I don't have one. The people I was referring to are on Ain't It Cool News, which tends to have really pathetic comment sections on its articles, so that's why I said they could be wrong. What's your opinion on it? That's never stopped me.As I said, I haven't read the books, so I don't have one.
Sounds like people who are closet racists to me. I can not think of a single reason why it should matter even if the books say he was white why the role could not be played by a person of a different race. I am pretty sure that King would be involved in the casting and if it is OK with him everyone should shut up.Apparently people who've read the entire series say this is a bad idea because there are some plot elements directly referring to Roland's white-man-ness (he looks similar to Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name), but maybe they're just Stephen King fanboys and it could work anyway.
Right now there's a 10% offer for the Halo 5 bundle and a 15% offer for all other XBoner bundle sets. Both last through the end of the day Saturday.Hey Zimm do you know if there will be any Cartwheel deal for a XBoner?
Two people I know are looking to buy one for Christmas.

Yeah, that's how I feel about it. Idris Elba has been awesome in every movie with him I've seen, so I'm more inclined to trust in his acting.Sounds like people who are closet racists to me. Nothing about it sounds closeted.Sounds like people who are closet racists to me.
i love books so much. i just found out that Coraline was written by Neil Gaiman so now i gotta read that book too. My daughter just picked up some smoke and mirrors book of his short stories and i need to read that when she is done. I used to have coworkers that would take smoke breaks and I would read the whole time. I used to read everything Palahniuk wrote but i havn't read his stuff lately.I guess you missed my prior posts about reading and books. I wasnt kidding. I really dont read any books. And this post captures one of the main reasons why. Seems like such a waste of time to spend hours and hours reading books when you can watch the same thing on the TV in 2-3 hours. yeah yeah, details.
Maybe you should change the poll (Best of 2015, maybe?) so we can get back to normal. We talkin about books? Not a game...not a game...not a game. We talkin about books!
That guns up game any good?i love books so much. i just found out that Coraline was written by Neil Gaiman so now i gotta read that book too. i always think of that seinfeld quote about keeping books like trophies is silly. iv got 5 bookshelves full and i need more cuz books pile up here. I tried reading conrad's heart of darkness cuz i read it influenced ish spec ops and apocalypse now and it was so rough to read but gotta try to give the classics a go.
also Idris Elba is awesome. he rocks so hardcore
Thanks I will forward this onto them.Right now there's a 10% offer for the Halo 5 bundle and a 15% offer for all other XBoner bundle sets. Both last through the end of the day Saturday.
You put together the lists you want to vote on, I'll post 'em.Maybe you should change the poll (Best of 2015, maybe?) so we can get back to normal.
strategy guides don't count as books, dork. even if they are versus. (been re reading this versus ff7 guide, so good, getting ready to play the game, final attack+phoenix ready to go)i love books so much. i just found out that Coraline was written by Neil Gaiman so now i gotta read that book too. also shout out to one of my all time favorite books 'aint nobodies business if you do, the absurdity of consensual crimes in a free society' peter mcwilliams is a hero. rip
I used to read fantasy books constantly, one a day usually, but I got so sick of the tired save the world nonsense. The Game of Thrones type books (large cast in a war-torn world) don't appeal to me at all anymore either. Every once in a while I'll come across something magic of sci-fi that's more about a character's life and personal goals, modest coming of age and such, and I'll read that but mostly I just don't read novels much anymore.i love books so much
Same categories as last year? You put together the lists you want to vote on, I'll post 'em.
iv got witcher 3, wasteland 2 and a bunch of other great games sealed up and im here playing f2p gems and gunsup etc. That guns up game any good?
We won't need that Worst PS+ game category; did Microsoft make enough bungles this year to warrant the last category again?Same categories as last year?
Preparing myself for the "which is the best trophy guide I used to plat a game" poll. You put together the lists you want to vote on, I'll post 'em.
Used to be big on fantasy books myself. Haven't read many/any in recent years though. I got stuck somewhere in the 3rd or 4th GoT book. Just got too long winded with too many characters that didn't particularly appeal to me. Been reading a lot more non-fiction and memoirs lately. A bit shorter and more consistently engaging for me. I think I've read 4 or 5 books this year? More than I've read in the past few years.I used to read fantasy books constantly, one a day usually, but I got so sick of the tired save the world nonsense. Is this another Wisconsin-ism? The people I know from there use borrowed instead of lent and it is like nails on a chalk board to me. Strange Therm-like pet peeve, I know... Please do not use on-line instead of in-line too.I saw a trailer for Luther in front of the Sherlock blu-ray the lady friend borrowed me.
I did a search before posting and saw the wiki page about him being in 9 books. I just scanned the list, but it seems to all be books I did not read and I do not recall him in any of the movie adaptations for books I had not read. Not sure how I could have missed all of the other books with him in it.As far as Randall Flagg, he's every damn where. I love all the interconnectivity of the whole King universe.
i try to read alot but im pretty slow and try to 'enjoy' it and think about it. my oldest daughter on the other hand can read those thick harry potter books in a few days. the bookstore is useless cuz i will buy her a book and she will have it read by the next day, so the library is our friend now. She reads it so fast and then i try to quiz her and she barely knows what she read so i think she just speed reads but her comprehension and retainment is lacking, lol. i dont read much fantasy anymore, but my wife and her love all those hunger games, divergent, city of glass/city of ash, cast house of night books, etc. im more into the books you can't get anymore (loompaniacs, uncle fester, etc) My dad had a small library and when i was a teen he left and i got to keep most of his books. He was a far right wing military man but if you got far right enough it goes left again like a circle so here i am.I used to read fantasy books constantly, one a day usually, but I got so sick of the tired save the world nonsense. The one for the visual novel that gets you the plat in 1 minute.Preparing myself for the "which is the best trophy guide I used to plat a game" poll.
Konami's Konami-ness would be another easy nominee.Maybe just worst bungle period?
Batman Arkham Knight on PC
Not sure what other good nominees would be.
Jack Reacher is also supposed to be black IIRC. Honestly I can get this criticism a lot more than complaints of white people taking colored roles; there are so few big movies that source a colored main character (from real life or other form of fiction) that replacing those few opportunities with a white actor just seems shitty. Hollywood likes to cast young actors/actresses based on older roles as well--Jennifer Lawrence's new movie Joy is a good example since the character is supposed to be in her 40s with a kid during the events of the movie.I remember someone telling me that Jack Reacher was described as a big/tall dude in the books yet Tom "The Shrimp" Cruise played him in the movie. Who thecares. Is the movie good or not is what should matter.
I would have to read a bit about it to understand what is going on but yeah I bet that would be a good one too.Konami's Konami-ness would be another easy nominee.

OTOH Hollywood casts based on what they think will sell best. It's an investment and you have to respect the approach they take with such things. I'm not sure I agree that less people will go see a movie if the main actor/actress isn't white, but I don't go watch Tyler Perry movies either so it's hard to argue that point.
I think colored went out in the 70s for the most part.Honestly I can get this criticism a lot more than complaints of white people taking colored roles; there are so few big movies that source a colored main character (from real life or other form of fiction) that replacing those few opportunities with a white actor just seems shitty. Konami pulled a contract restriction bitchfest to prevent Kojima from showing up at the Video Game Awards. They got called out on it by the host of the show. It was great.I would have to read a bit about it to understand what is going on but yeah I bet that would be a good one too.
Sounds like a dick move. Also Konami in general is failure now right? Are they even going to make video games anymore?Konami pulled a contract restriction bitchfest to prevent Kojima from showing up at the Video Game Awards. They got called out on it by the host of the show. It was great.
I said colored because I didn't mean black specifically. Asians, people from the Middle-East, Native Americans, etc.. Is there a better way to put that other than non-white?I think colored went out in the 70s for the most part.
IDK maybe nonwhite?I said colored because I didn't mean black specifically. Asians, people from the Middle-East, Native Americans, etc.. Is there a better way to put that other than non-white?
