Controls are pretty funky but I thought it looked and played really cool from what I played. It was a bit glitchy at launch for me, hopefully that has been smoothed out. I need to get back into it.
The trophy guide says the glitchy trophies were fixed with the patch, but I'm not sure about any other issues it may have.

It's gonna be tough for damn sure. No one has the plat yet (according to PSNP), despite the game being out for almost a week now. Seems no one can beat Core, which is damn tough so I get that. Even on easy mode and with checkpoints it gets brutal and hectic. Same with the other games. I never beat any of the games in their original WiiWare releases, so it felt good to knock out Void the other day. The new lower difficulty options help there of course. I think all the difficulty options does is give you a little bit more leeway on misses before you die.

There are some trophies that I don't know what the requirement actually is. I think the Runner ones are just for beating level bosses. And Tyler got some weird one with a dude's face that I don't understand.

But the games are fun and have a great soundtrack and should be played. Gonna be a very rare plat, but there's enough low hanging trophy fruit if that's the only reason you're playing it.
Core is a fucking bitch. Pretty sure that will eliminate me from ever getting the Plat. Its also not that fun.

Void seems like the easiest one so far.

Runner is a fucking bitch too, I'm on 3-9 though and that level is awful. I've got 3 more after that, I hear 3-11 is torture. Runner is still great though.

No clue on that face trophy, I got it on the final boss of Beat when a TV with a dudes face flew onto the screen.

And what do you mean easier difficulty level? Was there not an "easy" mode on the original versions?

And WiiU sold ~200K units. Right around 10% of what all next gen consoles sold last month. Nintendo is wise to be packing it up and moving on to whatever stupid idea they'll have next.
It's just sad in a way. I thought they were "getting it" by moving on but then they release that patent for a controller with 2 sticks 2 triggers and a touchscreen for buttons? The Gimmick that was the Wii worked at the time, but that time is long gone. That thing better have some amazing haptic feedback or their next system will also be dead in the water.

I've actually been a little more positive with Nintendo lately but most of the news that's coming out just doesn't sound that great. It doesn't help that Zelda Wii U is pretty much a ghost project at this point. We've only ever seen a very very limited glimpse of it.

I didn't think I'd ever say it but yeah Nintendo games on other platforms would be pretty great at this point.

Yeah I ran through Void pretty quickly. Definitely the easiest.

I only got as far as 3-something or other on those Runner levels before and those levels are torture. Sonically beautiful torture.

The original WiiWiare release didn't have an option to change the difficulty. It was whatever they set it at. But people kept bitching how hard it was so they added it for Runner2 and maybe the Wii and 3DS collection (can't remember if it was there on the 3DS one).

The game is pretty damn hard on easy, the bitching is understandable.

The motion controls on Beat kinda suck too. I forgot to mention that. Wish it had regular controls as an option.

if you have an amex and have the jet.com offer for $20 back on $50 AND you're a new jet.com customer (or make a new account) you can get sony golds for $43 with code 20NOW.

At one point you could get a ps4 for ~$235 but it looks like that ship has sailed. jet.com charges tax for me but seems like they don't for most yet.
Are you sure that isn't just the price until you get to checkout? They seem to like to do that shit. Yeah, still salty!

Only Zimm needs a ps4 and I think he will get one when his wife is out of his life, or at least out of his living quarters. By then we will all have a shiny new PS5!

Playing on the 3DS with just circle pad felt weird, but so does tilting the Vita. I remember tilting the Wii remote wasn't that bad, but obviously when things get hectic it's hard to be precise. Just have to memorize everything I guess.

Bought my first SNES right when N64 came out. Bought my first N64 when GameCube came out. Got my PS1 after PS2 was out. Got first PS2 right before PS3. And PS3 like 10 months before PS4.

That's my pattern usually. Get the system right before it's new one comes out. NES and 3DS and Wii were the only current gen systems I owned. Oh and Vita too I guess kinda.

maybe. but for me jet.com is all about possibility and never about the bad things that could happen!

you could also get mgs5 and diablo 3 for $35 total after amex discount and 20NOW code.

but surely you've never had this kind of peer pressure before.

That is very true.

And don't call me Shirley.
Just do it once you come across a deal that works for you Zimm. If you're worried you'll neglect your PS3 backlog, FWIW, I still play mine just as much if not more than my PS4. I was kinda worried about that too but it hasn't been the case with me at all. I know some in here feel differently but that's just me.

I still play my PS3 even with the PS4 as well. I have been favoring the PS4 more lately but probably just because there has been a lot to play. The best thing I did though was get rid of the 360. :)

EDIT: Removed the XBOX games from the Video Games Collection list (mostly digital) list too :)

Are you guys trying to talk him out of buying a PS4?

There were a lot of people excited about Breach and Clear. I am thinking you are setting your sites way too high with that list. Hopefully I am wrong for all you collector types.
It's not about collecting, it's about cashing in. I see that Breach and Clear has sold for up to $75 now. Glad I bought one at $25. I'll wait until people are super desperate for it and will pay $100+. It's fun seeing how high this crap will go. Easy $$$.

Always tape for all house painting. Even when I tape though, I always get a little rouge spots of color where they shouldn't be.
One reason I married my wife, and I'm not saying it's the only reason, is because she loves to paint. She can cut-in and paint trim without having to tape. She does all the painting around the house. I do the prep work; caulking, filling holes, sanding, priming.

Ok PSNOT, help me out here. Play or pass:

Broken Age

Castlestorm

Chariot

Ether One

Futuridium EP Deluxe

Kung Fu Rabbit

Mousecraft

Rain

Skulls of the Shogun

Stealth Inc 2

Super Time Force Ultra

Super Meat Boy

Xeodrifter
I really enjoyed Broken Age (suck it, Tyler), STFU, SMB, and Xeodrifter, so definitely prioritize those.

I also played Ether One, Futuridium, Kung-Fu Rabbit, Mousecraft, and Rain, but those all range from "meh" to "skippable".

Suggesting Broken Age to someone who barely enjoys the Telltale games is a bad move. The Telltale games at least have a good story to keep you interested. I can't say that for Broken Age. I will admit some of the puzzles were cool and it didn't seem to have any bugs. Those are about the only positives I can come up with.

I forgot about Backlog not being a fan of Telltale's games.
