Never said it was bad. I just finished up Freedom Cry myself but mainly because I bought the DLC and don't want any backlog on the PS4. That's why I'm also doing the Mordor DLC now (because I bought it). I also mentioned Syndicate will most likely be next for me. (Skipping Unity) but no one heard any of that.

I have been hard on Assassin's in the past, yes but after playing Freedom Cry I realized I'd just forgotten how damn good Black Flag actually was.
Oh we read that part, just responding to how you implied that it was silly to try and play all of them. But it's not if you like them as much as I do.

I will concede that I thought AC 3 was boring as fuck at times and I really didn't like Connor much at all. It's still far from being a terrible game though.

But you should know how to drive in it. I mean, Utah is a Winter state. SLC hosted the freaking Olympics for gods sake, it's not like snowfall and bad roads are some random event that only occurs every few years.

I spent nearly 20 years in Anchorage, and aside from trouble during my teenage years only had one snow related accident.

If you car has 4 wheel drive and/or studs you should be able to drive around just fine. It's not the end of the world, you just drive slower, pump your breaks, and don't panic.

At least you don't have the mindset in Portland where they close things if the temp drops below 35 and there's rain in the forecast.

Even on those rare winter days where we do get a few inches of snow it's gone a week later.
Anything outdoor related for the Olympics was hosted at altitude about 3000 feet above SLC.

Nobody in the city has studs or winter tires. Most don't have four wheel drive except for the losers who drive big ass trucks for no reason.

I don't get why "let's go outside and slide all over the roads" is a better mindset then "let's have everyone stay inside and be safe and not bang up their cars"

Personally I found Unity to have the more interesting story and characters, but Syndicate had the better gameplay. If Syndicate didn't have the rope launcher it would be easy to recommend a pass.
Shit now I don't know which one to actually play!

Fair enough.

I just played the first one last year. Since then I've knocked out Bloodlines, 2, Rogue, and Liberation in that order. I figure if I play 3 per year that will give me enough time between games that I won't burn out but will still let me catch up fairly quickly.
Eh, I mean I could go on an AC binge and be caught up in like a month or two, and that's considering my limited play time. I just don't feel the need to do so and spacing them out combats franchise fatigue.
Ugh, guys I know some people will still play them all eventually. In general most people never will. Thats not a good or a bad thing. Just a thing. If you love the series and want to play them all awesome! Have fun! Overall every game in the series is pretty good if not great. I just hated 3 because I had too much HHYYYPPPEEE for it and it dragged on and was the most buggy one I had played to date. I still finished the story though.

And yeah Just Cause 3 is a let down too due to the same HYPPEE and being buggy but I still love it cause its not slow and lets me destroy everything.

it has slowed your trophy hoarding though giving me an opening to potentially overtake you before year end. WATCH YO ASS

Today should be Friday but it's not, I'm off on Friday though. So Thursday is my Friday and Saturday is my Birthday. If anyone wants to get me Assassin's Creed Unity for my birthday I'll play it then.  :D/

it isnt just that that has slowed me down. I havent played much Just Cause in a week. Im still around 50% which is where I was last week. Work and the kid are getting in the way of my game time!

Kids are the worst!

Because people need their thiiiiiiiiings and all the money making!!!!

I've played 3,Rogue, Unity, and Syndicate all in the last 18 months and don't feel burned out. Need to get to Brotherhood and Revelations at some point though.

All that eye doctor talk last week prepared me for today. I had to see the Ophthalmologist this morning. They did that pen test where they test the eye pressure by touching my eye but that didn't bug me. Then the doctor came and dilated my eyes and that blur is annoying. Luckily the dilation is almost done so my vision is coming back to normal. Got to go back in a few months for another test.

Far Cry 4 co-op trophies anyone? I also could use help entering an ender portal and killing an enderdragon in Minecraft. Both PS4.
I am up for some Far Cry 4 co op! Tonight? Do we need to play the whole game to get the co op trophies or is it a quick thing? Either way I am down as Tyler said the plat is easy

This AC discussion is becoming a more regular topic then which FF is the best.

Co-op stuff is fairly quick and easy, I'm just not sure you'll be able to do it all right at the beginning of the game. But yeah the plat overall is real easy.

It was a long time ago and I don't know how it works now, but I seem to remember Far Cry 4 not saving progress for the non-host in coop games. Maybe I'm wrong. But you may want to look into that before you dive into the campaign in coop.
Yeah I love playing every Ass Creed game I can (except 3, cause fuck you George Washington!), but I dont know how anyone will ever catch up to the series.
I have been trying to motivate myself to play Liberation. Haven't played in weeks. Spent 45 mins try to climb a tree. Not sure if the character I am currently can't climb well or if it is usual AC crappy climbing. Not sure I care to figure it out. Just seems way to much crap to remember.

You need to have the skill unlocked that lets you do a vehicle takedown. I unlocked it about half way through the game. The trophies themselves go pretty fast if the game doesn't kick you, which it does have the tendency to do at times.

Speaking of kids and games, my little guy has been game deprived these past few months to the point of his gaming skills actually deteriorating. He basically forgot how to use the right analog stick to control the camera since he's only had his 2DS to play. Didn't take him long to get back up to speed since he's been with me a lot lately. Poor guy never wants to leave.

You can only climb in certain costumes. So if you have the fancy lady persona costume on, you won't be able to climb. Switch to one of the other two.

Vita?

if I ever actually let my kids play games I'm getting a goddamn NES, super mario bros, sitting them down in the basement and telling them they can't come upstairs until they get through the first world.  we didn't have parents teaching us how to play when we were kids and I can't imagine the agony of trying to teach a kid to use a 13 button ps4 controller with two analog sticks and a d-pad.

edit - weird, kinda therm'd?

I was one of the other two and still couldn't get it to climb very well. It really seemed to indicate this was the tree I need to climb to get over the fence. I just forgot all the stuff I learned a few weeks ago. I haven't really been playing much at work at lunch time and need something easier to pick up and play. Bunch of icons and things showing up on the map I have no idea WTF they are.

Also not sure I really want to spend time changing outfits all the damn time.

My 3 year old already uses a PS3 controller to play Minecraft. Got my older son a Vita instead of a 2DS.

I just turned my kid loose in the open world portion of LEGO Batman 2 and he figured it all out himself. I took like 30 seconds to tell him what all the buttons did and that was it. He caught on surprisingly quick.

Yeah but back then we only had one game to play for the whole year and we had to walk 6 miles through the snow to school.

My first Nintendo game was Tetris.  It took me what felt like days just to figure out how to play the game.  Either I didnt know how to read or it didnt come with instructions.  I remember getting really pissed off not knowing how to stop the blocks from falling and filling up the screen.

Then I finally noticed a line disappear.  It was magical.  Then it took me a few minutes to realize why that line disappeared.  I played Tetris for days for many hours.  I was hooked to games from then on.  Games teach problem solving!

Nice. Did you ever beat it?

My first (non-SMB/Duck Hunt combo) NES game was the original Castlevania.  My brother wanted RC Pro-Am for the multiplayer, but I talked him out of it.  I still haven't beat that damn Grim Reaper without the help of save states on an emulator.

I never finished games on my SNES or Genesis. Most of my time spent with those was renting fighting games and staying up at a buddy's house way too late drinking chocolate milk and playing til we were sick of playing. Good times.

Me and my brother called the Bart vs the Space Mutants hotline because we couldn't figure out how to beat the final boss level. It turned out that there was a little ledge right in the middle of the screen that you had to jump on and we couldn't see it on our shitty late 1980's low res TV's. We felt so stupid.

Edit: I just watched a video on youtube of the final level and it wasn't even a boss. It was just a dinosaur that didn't move and shot fireballs in a simple platforming section right before the end. I shouldn't have gone back...ohhh the pain, the pain!

Dont worry they were all too happy to get your parents $3.99 a minute.

Castlevania was awesome but shit so was RC Pro-Am!

Both my kids are pretty adept with the DS3 or DS4 controller.  My son more so than my daughter; she really only likes to play the LEGO games which aren't that involved controller-wise.

Saturday morning, I woke up for no particular reason at 5a, and decided I was going to stop bitching about it and work on that stupid 5 million gold picked up trophy for Diablo 3.  My son woke up just after 6a, and he had never seen me playing D3 before.  He was immediately interested in it, so we started two new characters and are about to take on the Skeleton King.  I thought he would have some difficulty with the different skills being mapped to the different buttons, but nope he picked it right up.

The only annoying thing about playing D3 on local co-op is that every time he picks up something new he immediately wants to press Select to see if it's better than what he already has.  That pauses the game for both of us.
