Grabbed a sixer of this last night

Porter2.jpg

I had a very confusing morning. I was trying to decide which Vita game to bring to work and noticed that my Akiba's Trip case was still wrapped. I have very clear memories of starting the game. I checked my trophy list and there's no record of it. I don't own it on the store. I can't find any other copies of the game anywhere. Did I just watch a gameplay video on YT? And if so...do I really need to play games when I could watch them and not know the difference?  :whistle2:k

:whee:

The best representation of the style that is readily available and it is not even close.

I don't think any stores within a 50 mile radius of me have a Porter for me to even try. Sigh.
There is not a single decent beer store in Valdosta? A friend commutes to LaGrange and there is even a decent store there. Maybe that is close enough to Atlanta that it gets some bleed over. I know you could find good stuff in Savannah, but Jacksonville might even be closer for you.

Based on what I've read though porters seem to be similar to stouts. Is that correct?
The lines have gotten blurred. Once you get into oatmeal porters where the body on them is thicker like a stout they it gets really hard to differentiate the two. Typically stouts use only roasted and dark malts where porters may have an initial pale malt base with additions of those to make them darker and slightly thicker than a pale malt based beer.

I can be hit or miss on porters since when I drink a dark beer I want it to be viscous. If I want a thin easy drinker, Ill have an IPA. Any oatmeal porter though is an immediate try it at least once. Oatmeal stouts are usually heaven on earth for me

Looks like there are 3 options in Valdosta worth checking (the 3rd in the list is a bar).

Yeah, Valdosta is where I was able to find Founders Breakfast Stout. I've got to take some time when I have a day off and browse a few of them and just see what they have. I haven't really had the time to do that. I'm gonna get my gf to take a good glance over what they have at the store when she grabs the Founders for me today.

Yeah Warehouse is where the gf is stopping for me today. Five Points didn't have Founders even though Founders site said they did. They may have been sold out though.

Unless money is super tight, tell her to get you a 6 pack of the Porter. If they have it still, a 4 pack of Backwoods Bastard too (it will probably be the most expensive). If you have to pick one go with the Backwoods. It is a seasonal and Porter is year round.

Backwoods is out of stock at my beer place, that shit is hella good though.

Interesting theory on Star Wars 7 that makes a lot of sense...

(heavy major spoilers at the link and below obviously)

Basically that Kylo Ren chose to go to the Dark Side so he could help the Light Side kill Snoke.  He has to turn away from his family and kill someone he loves to fully embrace being a Sith.  And in doing this he can join with Rey (Light & Dark) and bring balance to the force like his grandfather was prophesied to do 60 years ago.  And Han knew this, which is why he said he'd do whatever he could to help when they met.

Anyway, read the link for the whole explanation.

It sounds like you may have had a stroke, please consult a doctor.

Yeah money is a little tight right now with the holidays and lack of hours at work, but I'll get her to check the price on it anyway. The Breakfast Stout is only $10 a four pack so I should be able to grab Backwoods if they have it.

This is kind of scary. A drone carrying camera equipment almost crashed into a slalom skier:

FYI, it is probably closer to $20 a 4 pack than it is to $10. The Porter is probably around $10 for a 6 pack. I was not kidding when I said it was the most expensive.

The comments are filled with "Colin was right" "#ColinWasRight" etc.

I don't understand the verbal fellatio constantly given to Colin and Greg by their fans. Their nut-hugging fanboys make me resent them despite the fact that I really do like Greg and kinda like Colin.
liked for verbal fellatio lol

But if that were true, then 7 isn't absolutely identical to 4 like everyone in here thinks it is. So obviously it's wrong.

Well the gf's non-stress test shows she was having small contractions every three minutes, so they gave her a shot and sent her home to rest. That being said, I just got her to grab the Breakfast Stout and go on home so she can get off her feet. It was the last pack they had left. I'll take a trip to look myself sometime, she said they had a vast selection.

I generally just don't pay attention to their fans. Most of the comments/commentors are stupid but that's just like the rest of the internet. The guys themselves seem pretty cool. I try to listen to the live twitch show if nothing else is going on during the week, and the PS podcast is pretty good, but fanboys are almost always annoying.

That's an interesting theory, but it's hard to take seriously when Kylo Ren ordered the slaughter of many innocent villagers (including women and children) at the beginning. One could argue it was done to keep up appearances, but that seems a bit much.

Turtle Anarchy is good. Lots of places around here carry one of their brews or a rotation. Great name, too.

Also this happened, so I guess that survey was pretty positive:

It's actually more of a joke than anything since he's wrong about 90% of the time.

EDIT: As for the fans I started listening to them back in their Podcast Beyond days and they have a good chemistry and always spoke passionately about the Playstation platform. It helped me through a very dark time when my 360 was my main. I'm now very happily lodged in the Playstation ecosystem. PS3, PSVITA, PS4.
