PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Unless you just don't want more trophies because it means more random things you have to do.
Yeah it's no big deal but basically this. Seems like the hard mode trophy could've been a silver and the impossible mode one a gold, and some of the other shit left off. Just a matter of personal preference though.

I can't imagine going for that 100K kills trophy legitimately, I've left the game running for several evening in auto-kill mode and I'm just now at 50K kills. It's 5 to 5.5 hours per 5000 kills through the guard dog method.

Looks like probably another swing and a miss on this homeworld assault so if you still need the defense event trophy try to be online to play a mission after the homeworld countdown ends in a day and a half.

btw tyler do those difficulty trophies stack or nah?
I don't think so, but unless it was patched out, you can beat the game on normal, then just replay the final boss and when he's down to his last couple hits, you switch the in-game difficulty to the harder levels and then beat him and get the trophy.

Gaming Update:

  • Defeated Baphomet and got the Cog of Life in La Mulana. Now to figure out where the hell to go next.
  • Somewhere in the desert before the Sandworm (how original) boss in Tales of Hearts R. Okay game, but I'm getting a little sick of the Town -> Dungeon - > Town paradigm.
  • At 3-2 in Stealth Inc 2. Fun.
  • Bastion : Got more shards. Smashed more stuff.  I played this game 10 years ago when it was called Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. Having narrator doesn't really add anything new to this style.

Is whatever the guard dog method is actually faster than the tank method? Because that's what I used when the game was still new. Go to a low level bug planet and rubber band the controller so you're just driving around in circles in one of the tanks. It'll just run over the tiny enemies endlessly and take no damage.

Cool, I'll try that. I'll probably go ahead and buy it, sounds like a good candidate along with The Order to break up the Ni No Kuni grind with.

I'm gonna be in for Axiom Verge, Canoli, and Taco Master for sure.  Possibly add in Ninja Senki.  Thinking about adding more to get maximum use out of my 20% code though so we'll see.

Ok so *if* I bought $136 worth of stuff on the ps4 console store AND used the 20% ps4 console coupon AND created a new paypal account to pay with would I get $10 off (paypal) and 20% off (coupon) to get to just over $100 to get $15 back making a #cagmath balance of $136 worth of stuff for $85?  This seems absolutely stupid.

Side note: I'm struggling to reach $100 even going outside of my comfort zone.

This. I've been meaning to bring it up to save owl some sanity but I keep forgetting - I think it took us a couple days of leaving it on while at work to finish. It's true though, it would be an impossibly long slog legit.

heads up, I've never noticed this before but apparently sony rewards points expire?  mine show that they'll expire 3/31/16 so I'm going to try to remember to use them up after I buy whatever from this sale.

It's basically the same idea, except you don't have to rig your controller to drive in a circle. The tank method might be faster since you can do a level 2 or 3 with that and thus kill more enemies, but its easier to set-up I think.

Sign out of PSN, boot the game, and cycle through level 1 bug planets by completing missions until you find one with a SAM that is fairly centrally located. This is to ensure regular patrols come by it from various directions.

Equip heavy armor perk to blunt their damage and put on the guard dog backpack (DLC) which attacks nearby enemies until it has to stop to reload. Position yourself near the SAM, wedged up near a rock or, even better, in a rock with a corner to minimize how many scouts can attack you at once. Sometimes the SAMs are pressed up against a rock which is the best scenario.

Bugs get close, they sound the alarm, the scouts swarm, but the corner and the heavy armor do enough to mitigate the damage that you can survive while the guard dog reloads. Once the guard dog kills all the enemies, your HP regens to full quickly.

If using that method I would recommend leveling up the guard dog once so that it can move and fire. Sometimes if it stops at the wrong angle to fire it will empty an entire magazine without hitting the bug that is attacking you. Letting it move and fire means it will continue to circle you while firing and within 3 or 4 shots will have the right angle to kill it.

Once you equip the guard dog and place yourself in the corner you can turn your controller off and go do whatever else for as many hours as you want. When you are ready to stop, select abort mission from the pause menu and the kills will be added to your cumulative total.

If you find a level that you really like for farming, all you have to do is just not touch the galactic map while on your ship. As long as you don't mess with it, it will stay on that mission no matter the progress or failure in the multiplayer campaign and you can continue to play by joining games from the multiplayer teleporter pad.

Looks like I know where another 80 hours of my time is going.
Is that Bob Ross? Or Jeremy Jamm?

After watching this, I'm tempted to get SwapQuest, too:

It reminds me of the SNES era, which was awesome.

Ahh, forgot about that. Mine expires on 3/31 as well. Guess I'll put it towards a $10 cert.

Bought Ninja Senki, Hitman GO, Taco Master, and The Bit.Trip. I'll leave SwapQuest in the cart and think it over.

I've got 41 points expiring next month. Probably won't be able to earn a 5$ cert in that time. RIP rewards points.
I have 22. But they are recent since I picked up a $10 rewards code from them not too long ago. Might never use these points since they are "Sold Out" of the $5 codes.

You can still pay for them with a combination of points and a cost of 1 penny per extra point you need and buy a $10 cert, though depending on how many points you have banked it might not be worth it. I've got over 550 set to expire so it's worth it to pay the balance with cash.

If it's worth your time to save a few pennies you can register these lists of movies at a point each until the site won't let you register anymore (Its either 3 or a dozen, I forget which).

If Bastion is like BG: DA, I'm definitely going to be playing that soonish.

here does it say when they expire? I registered a bunch of my blu rays a few weeks ago, I should just get some psn codes.

Had 400 points expire at the end of March so I went ahead and paid $5 to get a $10 code to go with the $20 code I just bought at Target.

Here I come 20% off code!

#HHHYYYYY PPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE

You can pay the rest with credit card, but there is a minimum number of points you have to have to be able to do that. Can't remember what the minimum is offhand.

EDIT: the minimum is 250 points (at least for a $10 PSN card). I only have 126, with 103 expiring next month, so I'm screwed

I use my rewards points to buy PSN cards all the time so they never get close to expiring.  I am looking out for kids games to buy so hopefully some things go on sale soon.

Also, dont rewards points expire on every credit card rewards program?  I am pretty sure I have seen expiration on points on ever card I have ever had at least.
