PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

I tried getting into the shield 6.5 years ago according to Netflix. Watched disc 1 and 2 and just couldn't get into it. I imagine of its day it was highly influential, maybe the later seasons have more nuance. But then again, I have trouble connecting with any series in which there is not much reason to like, or at least feel sympathy for, the main characters. It's the same reason I kicked Mad Men to the curb early, why should I care about the goings on of despicable people?
I like shows and movies that focus on the worst kinds of bad guys as much as I enjoy the good guys but I can definitely see your point of view.

Speaking of that, what happened with the defend event last night? I did a mission right before bed and then tried to check this morning while getting ready for work and was having all kinds of connection issues so I never saw the recap for it.
I checked this morning, it took a couple of tries to stop it, or the game stopped it for us as the bugs pushed us back 3 sectors and the defend event is over. Next chance to try for the defend trophy is when the illuminate assault fails.

Do all the helldivers events start/end so late for EST people? I played a couple of games last night, but I'm pretty sure I missed everything again for the defense part. I'll try to time the next defense event better, but the last couple have had windows much later than I expected.

Glad I'm not the only one who found the acting really bad, especially early on. Charlie Hunnam in that first season is rough. I love how he completely gave up on the American accent in the final season too.
Yes, I was rather surprised that after all the good things I had heard about Sons of Anarchy, that his acting was so terrible in Pacific Rim, but I guess that performance isn't an outlier.

Speaking of old... a dude I work with who got assigned to the same group as me apparently does not have a credit card. I got the usual "I pay cash for anything I need line" but then he went into the "they are too unsafe" and "there are hackers out there trying to steal your identity!"

While I admit those things are true to an extent, for someone in a technological field to have bought into all that bull shit is mind boggling to me.

Also, I avoided telling him how his debit card he talked about is way less safe than a credit card. I do not want his tinfoil hat wearing head to explode.
Well he came back around and I dropped the bomb about debit cards on him and he of course acted shocked. Apparently debit cards are all that he uses. He doesn't use cash either "because it is filthy and that is how you get sick!"

I am seriously looking forward to being in Boston for a week with this guy.

I'm pretty sure it said it failed.

Yeah I was up all night playing some missions and we weren't even close. Also they ended around 2am. I think for the next one they should really readjust the points needed to win.

Dude I'm working with on the east coast doesn't seem to realize Utah is not 3 hours behind them.

I know the mountain time zone is by far the least frequently used, but common son. There's only 4 time zones. If you can't figure it out, google a time zone map and have your answer in 2 seconds.

TL:DR Utah sucks.

This does a good job of showing the gameplay and what is going on. I'm a lot more interested after watching the video.

I really enjoyed Mad Men actually. I even started liking some of the boring parts. I think its because it got into a lot of business activity in the last two seasons. And had less of his ex wife in it.

Although I have to say I did not think the last scene was as good as Tyler advertised. It was good, but not great.
Man you must have binged through it like crazy. I'm surprised that much Mad Men didn't put you into a coma.

I really enjoyed the business stuff too, but I don't recall it being all that heavy around the buisness side of things in the final couple seasons.

Pete Campbell was by far the best character, dude who played him was awesome. Definitely should have got some more supporting actor love from the Emmys and such. I liked his performance more than Hamm's.

This is the same reason I just couldn't continue with Mad Men after watching the pilot. Breaking Bad is an anomaly in that the "despicable people" are likable to some extent.
The corrupting of the once civilized man is a compelling story and probably the reason why I liked Breaking Bad too, it's the same reason I'm watching Better Call Saul. That and the writing is always so good.

Anyone else think it's weird they're releasing them in reverse order?  Maybe they're doing quality order from worst to best instead?  (I've only played a little of 4 and none of 5 & 6.)  Still weird to go 6, 5, 4.

EDIT:  Kinda tayler'd

Yes, we agree that Pete was the best character by far. Because he was even more flawed than Draper and that actor was superb. His slowly receding hairline was perfect for him too. They must have realized Pete was a star since he was in every single episode it seemed while every other character besides Don was not.

Definitely just a lazy port on RE4. Texture quality is pretty bad so they didn't bother doing an enhanced remake or anything.
while I'm sure it is just a cash in and I don't expect any changes, they know morons like me will buy it for the 5th (?) time so why bother. I'd appreciate some qol improvements but I'm sure if even the slightest things were done to the game they would've plastered it all over that trailer. they're also now one game short of having the entire numbered series in development or released on current gen which I really think means that they'll try to release another disc/code based anthology to retail.

In the early seasons, he's so easy to hate. Then all of a sudden I found I was rooting for him more than anyone else. He was also the best (only) comic relief in the later seasons.

About Severed: they're aiming for a March release and pricing is "what you'd expect for a small indie release." So $10-$20, I guess. The guy was really pro-Vita community, too. Said there's pockets of rabid fans all over the internet and that they've been very supportive.

Whenever the last sector prior to the homeworld has been played enough to fill up the bar is when the homeworld assault starts and then exactly 2 days later if its not successful the defense events start. I imagine it's a symptom of the game being more active in the evening when people are off work is why assaults usually start and end fairly late at night.

yeah he was needed for sure later as shit got real once we started learning more about people's pasts.

His outbusts were the best.

Awesome. I'm probably one of the few people here who enjoyed RE6 for what it was (an OK action-shooter, a sucky Resident Evil).
re6 was really fun. outside of the snowy mountain level because fuck that level. it also had my favorite rendition of mercenaries mode - being able to slide and quickshot made it feel like bliss. I don't care if resident evil games are survival horror though, I want them to be cheesy action/horror flicks. they're way better at that.

Why are you working with RPG?

Christ on a cracker, Pete was awesome!

The "Not great, Bob" delivery is amazing. It's not infinitely usable like a lot of great TV show lines because you have to have seen that whole season to understand why that reaction was just perfect. But its the most memorable line from the show to me.

I could almost never remember Pete Campbell's name because I always just called him weaselface.  I also hate his character because he gets to bang Alison Brie.

What a fuck ing idiot!

I dont know why but I really did enjoy Mad Men from start to finish.  It was slightly boring the first season, but I remember Breaking Bad being even more boring until the finale of the first season.  I was VERY close to not continuing it.  But glad I did of course.

Yeah I binged it pretty hard.  The last two weeks, when I was home, if I wasnt sleeping, I was playing games or watching Mad Men.  I really hated Pete the first couple seasons then he grew on me as well. He was just always finishing last and you started feeling sorry for him some how even though he was pretty much always a dick.  He was more of a dick than Draper really.

Wolfmother show last night was super cool.  Even splurged on a sweet tour t-shirt!

Opening band was pretty bitchin' too.  They're called Deap Vally and it's just two chicks and their sound reminds me a lot of Dead Weather and they singer/guitarist wears cool outfits.

After the show I took the Lady to her first strip club and she thought it was awesome.

How soon before "zimmandthelady" will be appearing on chaturbate?

What TV show character said "crap on a cracker"? I know this has been used in various ways but I remember someone saying crap instead of christ...

I watched Mad Men pretty heavily until season 5 or so and then just lost interest. I've seen some of the later episodes including the finale and it just didn't do as much for me as seasons 1-3.

My wife and I tried watching Breaking Bad but the first 2 seasons just didn't hold our interest as much and we haven't really gotten back to it yet. One day, maybe.

We tried watching Breaking Bad, but only made it a few episodes in. I thought the premise was pretty dumb. Didn't buy that he'd do what he did at all. And the bathtub stuff was over the top gross. I do mean to give it another chance some day because it does get such accolades.
