PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

The first Disney movie I remember seeing I theatres is Mulan. It's possible I saw Notre Dame before that but I don't remember which was first.
Jesus this made me feel old. I was in college working at a video store when Hunchback came out. Remember having to sell pre-orders with a stupid coupon book.

Disney cartoon Robin Hood or GTFO

I'm trying to remember what was the first Disney Movie I saw in the theater as a kid, I think it was the re-rerelease of Cinderella in 1987.

It's either that or Oliver and Company a year later.
First movie I remember seeing in theater was Oliver and Company.

I went around for weeks saying the, if this is torture, chain me to the wall!

Loved that movie.

Aladdin is great, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast are better.

Cartoon Robin Hood is great (especially that song) but it's not top 3.

I'll make you feel older, I turn 27 next month. :D

At least you don't have a team of old guy soccer players trying to recruit you because you turn 35 in a month so you're old enough to join their league. My husbands been dealing with this, I think it's depressed him slightly.

Also, Zimm, I applaud your choice.

I broke our VHS of this movie from how much I watched it. I own the dvd, also bought the bluray to support/make sure I have a backup! (And I mean blue ray, come on! Lol)

Yea Pinocchio is great. Could definitely fit in at number 3 or 4. Little mermaid and b & the best we're good but I liked the ones focused on a male or animal lead rather than the princess ones because apparently I'm sexist/animalist.

I dont think I've seen Robin Hood disney. Just men in tights and the one with the bryan adams song, not to be confused with Ryan Adams.

I turn 40 in a month.  Crunchewy and I will be having a walker race soon enough.

I saw The Rescuers when it was re-released in 1983, The Fox and the Hound in 1981, Pinocchio in 1984, The Jungle Book when it was re-released in 1984, and Lady and the Tramp likely in the 1986 re-release in the theater as a kid.  Probably also saw other re-releases during that time frame but those stand out.

I also remember seeing one of the Star Wars Episode IV re-releases as the first question out of my mouth was wait, did I miss the first 3?  And, of course, Empire and Jedi.

First movie I remember seeing was Grease at a drive in.

For first records, it was likely either one of these:

Also had a bunch of the Charlie Brown 45 RPM stories.  And I loved the Fisher Price Talk to Me books.

Now if only they finish releasing the darn cartoon on DVD. So many of the DIsney afternoon cartoons are 1 volume away from completion.
I would like that and TaleSpin and Resue Rangers.

Oh I just thought too, I had the gargoyle movie that had the board game in it. So when you were done with the tape you could play this cool game. Did anyone have that?! They should re-release with the game.

They did finish Tale Spin. It was exclusive to DMC for awhile and then they released it as an exclusive at Walmart B&M for a few months (along with Gargoyles S2 Vol 2 and a few others previously only in DMC) before making it available to general retailers about a year ago.

1) Robin Hood

2) The Rescuers

3) The Jungle Book

Honorable mention: Songs of the South.  I would love to watch this one again but since it has gotten labeled as racist I am not sure if that is even possible without watching a terrible youtube screener version.  I remember it being a really good story when I saw it as a kid and was too damn young and stupid to know if it really was racist or not.

ETA: Apparently my kid decided to start Tina's Toy Factory for me tonight.

Powerball is up to $800 million (estimated) and will probably go even higher before all is said and done as a lot of people will probably buy tickets tomorrow. If no one wins on Saturday I can't fathom how high it will go, easily over a billion.

I also loved watching ALL the Herbie the Love Bug movies and the great classic Old Yeller. Those blurays are exclusive to the Disney Movie Club.

Oliver and Company for me. Then the next year we went to see Little Mermaid since my sister really wanted to for some reason. My dad didn't like it because the movie is about a girl rebelling against her father. =P~

I don't know if you'll like this book, but I really liked it. I think it might be geared a little more toward females.

Here's the link

It's the same time period.

Edit: there's another series I really like, 4 book series. But I lost the books when I moved and last I knew it was out of print. If I can find it again I'll message it to you

Edit: found it!!!

I love this series!!!
I'm gonna have to add those to my list, thank you :)

I used to have so many books, I like fantasy/science fiction a lot, Sarah Douglass for example. Also love historical fiction.

Arthur, since I was little has been my fascination though, I'm not sure why I gravitated to it.
The wife has the 2nd set. I'll check on the 1st, she probably has that as well.

I've read tons of sci-fi/fantasy. Very few have I reread and I'll recommend these two:

Heroes Die - Matthew Woodring Stover. It's set in two worlds. The "real" world which is more advanced than this one and has developed a caste system built around employment. The main character, Hari Michaelson, is the most famous actor in the world. Acting's kinda mid-tier in the caste system but he's so popular that he gets a lot more leeway than most as long as he doesn't outright defy his boss, who is a businessman. Acting in the book isn't on stage--it's by hooking the actor up to a device that sends them to another world where they live out a completely different life that is watched by billions back home. In the other world that Hari has spent ~20 years developing his career in, he's Caine, the world's greatest assassin. The book starts with his estranged wife somehow being stuck in the other world and they're unable to see or contact her. Hari wants to go save his wife. His boss thinks the drama will make for his biggest adventure yet and can't decide whether it's better for the wife to live or die at the end. The enemy in the other world is a king who has used magic to turn himself into a godlike figure and has become aware of actors and their role in his world (Caine killed the previous king and has slaughtered a lot of political figures, for example.)

The book does a great job of balancing the conflict between both world. It's also very violent and fun to read.

Armor - John Steakley. You may be familiar with his other book, Vampire$, which was made into John Carpenter's Vampires starring James Woods. The movie is nowhere near as good as the book, which is why I mention Vampires. Armor is basically the bug planet part of Starship Troopers expanded into a full novel. It's about a guy named Felix who leaves his past behind and joins some army that's trying to conquer Banshee, a planet overrun by giant bugs. Half the book is seen through his perspective and half through the perspective of Jack Crow, a man fighting a local bad guy whose planet Jack seems to have gotten himself stuck on. Jack finds a power suit and starts tinkering around with it to access the memories recorded within, which show Felix's continued struggles on Banshee, and tries to find out how the suit ended up so far from that planet.

Honestly Armor is stronger through Felix's perspective but you have to get through the Jack stuff to read the whole book.

I haven't reread either in a few years. I should go back to both. The Caine books have four volumes now though the first is completely stand-alone. Armor had a sequel in the works when Steakley died, but also stands on its own as well. If you want to check out only one then definitely Heroes Die. Armor is a book I liked quite a bit but Heroes Die was fantastic.

Powerball is up to $800 million (estimated) and will probably go even higher before all is said and done as a lot of people will probably buy tickets tomorrow. If no one wins on Saturday I can't fathom how high it will go, easily over a billion.
Yeah at this point it's just going to go up faster and faster. Wednesday was in the 500m range. 300m is a ridiculous jump.

Oliver and Company for me. Then the next year we went to see Little Mermaid since my sister really wanted to for some reason. My dad didn't like it because the movie is about a girl rebelling against her father. =P~
Crap I also saw Fox and the Hound at a drive-in in 1988. I didn't even realize until now that it actually came out in 1981. It hit theaters on March 25, 1988. Oliver & Company came out in November. So F&H was actually my first Disney movie in theaters. Anybody else forget about that one?

First theater movie I can remember seeing is the old Dolph Lundgren live-action He-Man movie. Or maybe that Magic Flute Smurfs movie. Or Seaseme Street Follow That Bird.

I also remember going to see Gremlins and watching my brother cover his eyes during the blender and microwave parts, while I sat there and laughed.

All of you guys with all this Disney love, yet barely any of you have played Kingdom Hearts, wtf.

The first movie I saw in a theater was The Care Bears Movie, but I was only 3 so I don't really recall it. The first one I can remember seeing was the Bambi re-release when I was 5 or so.

First theater movie was fox and the hound. I don't remember seeing it in theaters but I did watch it a lot as a kid. Liked the movie even though it was sad. Disney movies are always sad.

My daughters balet teacher is so hot. Has perfect ass and legs of course. She has that little girl voice though because her growth was stunted like a lot of dancers and gymnasts. That sucks
