PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

I'm watching this episode of Married With Children where they all go to a cabin and the three chicks get their periods at the same time. It's just a bunch of jokes about women being on their periods and bears trying to attack them.

It's crazy how this stuff was racy and controversial when it aired, but now you can't watch most sitcoms without hearing a period joke every couple episodes.
Every episode of 2 Broke Girls is just a nonstop stream of pussy jokes.

So basically their assholes and never give you enough time to save the sector so it's almost assuredly going to roll back all the way to the human homeworld. When that happens a 48 hour defense event will start and you should be able to get the defense trophy then. I would expect that to start in about 15 hours.

Based on my extensive knowledge of the topic thanks to the 15 minutes I spent looking at the top search results on Google, you're in for some real trouble Tyler.

You see the problem there is that your fuel pump is too cold so the DSL isn't making it through the wires fast enough. It's basically sludge in there. You'll want to call a plumber and they should be able to snake it out to run to your toilet and that'll definitely get your air conditioning working again.

That shows been on for like 6 years, how the he'll are those girls still broke?

I watched half the first season and gave up when it actually was just the dark haired one trying to be "subtly crude" but making every joke and punchline so fucking obvious you can see them coming from the episode before.

That's interesting because I don't think I heard a single thing that I would qualify as a joke during the entire 30 minutes in the one episode I watched.

(But Kat Dennings's boobs were still on it and that's the real reason I watched)

Okay I like this game but I hate every other dumbass who plays it. I will never it play it solo agin, though.
Yes, some people can do some stupid, stupid stuff. Some guy in one game was using the sludge cannon and ended up killing us 6 times over the course of the game.

Basically I flip through multiplayer menu looking for games that are well under way with several objectives capped so I know there isn't a blatant troll in the mix. Then I jump in and complete that level. If the group is decent, I stick with them for a few levels. If not, I return to my ship and try looking for another game 2-10 minutes in.

I don't bother clicking on any level which is at 0:00 as chances are it's either failed in the first few minutes or the host has migrated. Most of them end in teleport failure.

Goddamn, what kind of she-devils are you all dating/espoused to?

About my DSL:

Thanks for all the input guys. My house is probably closer to 30 years old, not sure what wires are used. The technician didn't really install anything I guess, I think he just messed with some wires on the back of my house. He didn't get in my house, no way he could have without me home.

Here is what the inside jack looks like on the one that doesn't work but I want it too. Everything looks in order to me based on what you guys said, but I could be wrong.

And this is my messy outdoor telephone box. Not sure if you can really tell what's going on.

Dude. There is so much wrong with those pictures. If you want, I can help. Are you free tomorrow? Best to chat over the phone. You will need a screw driver, and at minimum a Razer blade or scissors.

I've been in telecom since 1991. I can help.

Go to psnprofile to your trophy log, in the filter change to only show platinums.

Highlight everything and copy & paste into notepad

Re-highlight everything in notepad and copy again to paste into Excel (this prevents all the pictures you highlighted on the webpage from pasting in excel)

Sort first column to ascend.

Delete the few time stamps that are mixed in with the percentages

auto-sum the list of percentages and then divide that total % by the number of plats.
#hoops

Wait a god damn minute here. Butt buddy is a gay thing?! But that would mean if you're calling someone a butt buddy, you're basically insulting them for being gay, right? Wow, that definitely wouldn't fly for me because I'm super chill all the time man. Super chill people don't bash each other over something like that.

That's the only reason to watch unless you still have a thing for Stifler's mom.

For all intents and purposes, Metal Gear Rising is done. I'm not going to try for the VR DLC trophies for two reasons: (1) I don't own that DLC and don't feel like paying $3 for it, and (2) based on what I've read, the time and effort required to earn those trophies isn't worth the trouble.

Sure, if you think its all fixable. PM me whenever you get a chance and we can set things up. I'm free most of the day tomorrow. Thanks!

3am...time to go to bed, I think. I'll wake up in 2-3 hours then plat Gravity Rush. Still really enjoying it--just need to knock out one DLC story mission, 3 rare enemies, then the 4 remaining chapters (chapters are very short.) Maybe 3 hours left of gameplay, I'd guess. Hoping I can flip for a decent price--not sure if BB will list it for trade-in but they haven't so far, which is a bit of a bummer with the upcoming trade bonus next week(IIRC.)

I would have him go buy a wire stripping tool from Home Depot before going the razor or scissors route.

I can't wait for Nightmare to get tyler electrocuted for talking so much shit about Russell Wilson.
Oh... never mind, carry on.

The wife and I watched The Martian last night. I liked it. I thought they did a good job adapting the book to the big screen; except for the changes they made at the end. I still don't see how it won the comedy award at the Golden Globes. To me, it's definitely a drama where the protagonist uses comedy to keep from losing it in the face of insurmountable odds; not really my definition of a comedy.

It wasn't a comedy. Everybody knew it wasn't a comedy. They just shoved it in that category because they knew the idiots at GG would let the genre misclassification slide and would award it anyway. It pissed off a lot of people, too.

Looks like the DSL might be on the Orange / Orange White pair? If so one of the Orange White wires is disconnected at the box on the back of the house. On the jack that doesn't work they are wired for Blue and Blue white which is connected to the bottom of the box which seems to be a different line then the DSL.

He could bring the DSL modem outside unplug the line top plug plug in the DSL modem and if it syncs up then he should be using the white orange pair. Or he could disconnect the other side of the orange pair that is already open and plug in the green pair which is already wired to the jack.

SHOULD be a simple fix with you on the phone helping him. I would have offered the same but you have it covered and I am busy for a few hours this morning.

And even without a razor blade stripping CAT3 or CAT5 wire like this is possible even with a thumb nail. I have done it in a pinch. The cables leading into the house off this box are fairly low voltage so no real risk of shock anyway. Sorry PSNot he will not get electrocuted.

Seems he has a mix of quad cable (forgot what it was called till your post yesterday) and more modern cable but the old stuff seems to be disconnected. Or at least not on the line that appears to be the DSL line.

I am curious what the inside of the working jack is but at this point might be best to leave it to you and your call later. I bet it is wired on the orange pair.

Here is a link on how to test the line outside your house. To verify which pair it is on

Don't listen to these guys tbone. The DSL modem doesn't work in other jacks because they don't have enough power. What you need to do is hook your car battery to the 'telephone box' and start your car up - that'll jump start the jacks just like a car's engine and then they should be self-sustaining.

Started Helldivers last night.  It's decent, but the disconnections are almost game breaking.  They always seem to happen right at the end of the mission as well.

Started out playing solo, but it's much more fun with a couple other players.  Probably won't be putting too much time into it, unless they fix the connectivity problems.

Edit - Of course just happened two times in a row as I'm waiting for the shuttle.  :wall:

This was a lot of fun. The trophy list was very easy and I knocked out all but one by the end of the story. The last one is to have 16 conversations with a married couple who have been separated in time and space and after you beat the game it will tell you as you enter a map section if there are any conversations in that area. You can pick up the trophy before beating the game but it's easier afterwards since you can narrow down the remaining conversation locations easier.

The story is incomplete. Gravity Rush is half a game. The ending is completely tacked on and arbitrary and I'm certain that it wasn't what they originally planned. There was stuff earlier in the game that posed questions about Kat's background, opened up all this potential origin story stuff, talked about the time and gravity shenanigans, characters have really weird and interesting subplots that get started, and the game introduced some aspect of reality not being what it seems. Then the narration takes a weird turn near the end into a couple of guys militarizing the city and then immediately ends afterwards. It's pretty annoying, honestly, because it's so blatant that they either ran out of time or budget or interest. Maybe they didn't want to invest that much effort into a Vita launch title. Regardless if you play the first game you have to play the second to get the other half of the story.

The gameplay is very solid. Kat is extremely responsive and it definitely feels like they nailed the target of 60fps. I didn't notice any hiccups at all in that respect. The animation is really nice for all her movements and combat and flight are great. The only thing I might complain about here is the Gravity Slide camera--the angle is weird and sliding gets difficult to navigate as a result.

The challenges are pretty varied. They're all timed but there aren't more than two of any particular challenge--a couple sliding races, a couple challenges around killing as many navi as quickly as possible, etc.. It feels like there's enough variety to keep it interesting. Challenges do have a couple of issues, though;

  1. There's no option to cancel a challenge run and immediately retry. Due to the timed nature and some of these taking 3+ minutes even to get a gold rating, if you mess up and know it your only options are to continue anyway or exit the challenge completely, return to the main map, then re-enter the challenge This is a bit annoying.
  2. There's no option to end a challenge early upon completion of the gold. There's a mechanic for comparing challenge scores versus other people online, which is nice, but if I hit gold rating and I don't want to keep going it's possible to be stuck standing around for 2 minutes to let the timer run out so you can get the gold star.

The upgrade mechanic is pretty nice. As you collect gems or win gems from challenge rewards you can upgrade your gravity powers, combat, etc.. You get gems as rewards for bronze, silver, or gold ratings. The challenges require a nice mixture of skill and upgrades; if you're really good at using your powers you can get a gold rating without upgrading much. If you're having trouble then leveling up your gravity slide, speed shifting, etc., a few times and then returning to the challenge makes a big difference. There's definitely a skill requirement, though--a number of the challenges took me 5-10 attempts even fully upgraded to complete because you have to get familiar with the race course or where the enemies or items or located in order to move quickly enough.

Somebody complained about the Gem Aficionado trophy for the Vita version. This is for collecting 40,000 gems. I earned this challenge in chapter 17/21. It wasn't hard to do--I had a gold rating in 1/2-2/3 of the challenges at that point and was just doing a quick under and over sweep of each city section as it appeared. Before finishing the story I knocked out the rest of the gold challenges and still had tons of gems scattered around the city that I didn't bother collecting (in chapter 15? gems repopulate across the game world so there's plenty of extras to collect even in previously-explored areas.) After beating the game I had enough left over to max out every ability and still had 8500 gems left over. I'd estimate that I collected 60k+ gems by the time I was done. I'm not sure if the six additional DLC challenges upped the number of gems in the game, if they tweaked the gems for the Remastered version, or if whoever complained as just a lazy collector for the Vita version. You shouldn't have trouble with gems in the Remastered version unless you're deliberately not collecting the ones you see.

Kat's base costume is dumb. Raven's looks good, but as soon as Kat got costumes to switch to I did so. What a terrible design on the base costume. Bleh.

tldr; Fun game that plays great on PS4. The game gives no clue that it was designed for Vita--visuals are really good and look PS4 native. Story is very obviously incomplete, but the gameplay is a lot of fun. Trophy list is a piece of cake and I think it took maybe 20-25 hours (estimating) to knock out the base game and 3 DLC trophy sets.

Does it leave out the stupid challenges, or are they much easier to do with the ds4? I gave up on the vita one because of those even though I still want to go back to it.

The challenges are still there. I never played the Vita version but once I got used to the controls and gravity slide (L2+R2 on DS4, not the stupid touchscreen approach of the Vita) the only difficulty was around familiarizing myself with the challenge map. The races where you have to hit the glowing circles for example took a few tries to be able to quickly switch directions from one to the other. That's more because it's a very three-dimensional world than anything else, though--the controls aren't the issue.

A number of the challenges I hit gold on the first try. The hardest one was one of the DLC challenges and that's just because it's long and there are (IIRC) 32 points to hit with tons of enemies everywhere. That one took about ten tries. I think I gave it a good 3-4 the first time I came across it then I returned once I had upgraded everything. The first run was about 5m30s and every time I ran it I knocked off around 15-20 seconds until making the 3m30s gold requirement.

The game is definitely worth playing on PS4 IMO.

Do you even read the thread?
1) CAG's blocked at work

2) Work has been busy since the New Year so while connecting to a wireless hotspot is an option, I don't have much time.

3) When I get home, I skim the thread to catch up.

tl;dr
