PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Platinum #3 - The Order 1886

It was easy, but I know you guys are proud of me anyway. It only took me about 3 weeks...lol

As for the game, it wasn't as bad as some made it out to be. It definitely feels like they probably needed more time but Sony pushed it out. I really hope it gets a sequel because I think it could be awesome. Loved the atmosphere, story, and characters. Some of the weapons were really fun to play with as well.

Finally up to Level 14 on PSN, I guess it does pay to plat.

Lol how is that not a knock against Microsoft?

That's like when you say "No offense" before something that's super offensive.
I knew that would be the first post after my post. I don't have anything against Microsoft and it's not meant to be damaging (more for discussion's sake) it just seems like everytime I turn around they are closing a once great studio that they acquired.

I didn't know you guys loved Microsoft so much...which thread am I in again?

I LOVE MICROSOFT but they seem to close a lot of studios...is that better?

Plus discount on Ironcast ends tomorrow, anyone play it? Trying to decide if I should grab this, wait for a sale on Puzzle Quest PS4, or just stick with that F2P game that came out awhile back.

I think Tyler is the only one here who has played Ironcast. It has permadeath which sounds annoying. Last thing I remember him saying about it made it sound frustrating.

I want to get The Division but still trying to keep my PS4 backlog as low as I can. Did enjoy the Beta though. Anyone try out Hitman?

Anyone play the Hitman beta this weekend? I fired it up Saturday night and did the first training mission, but then fell asleep when they wanted me to do it again 42 different ways. Seemed like it could be fun, but was basically an adventure game with all the go here so you can go here so you can grab this item so you can get this outfit so you can go here now stuff.

Full disclosure: This is the first time I ever played a Hitman game.

It's funny, I've always seemed to want to play Hitman but never played any one of them for very long. I think I only ever really touched a demo here and there.

Probably not going to be able to play the division until Wednesday. I think I'll be a reasonable person and just wait till I can grab my copy from my parents place instead of buying a second one.

Microsoft is closing Lionhead (Fable series) and Press Play Studios (Max & the Curse of Brotherhood). I played the Fable Legends beta awhile back and it was pretty bad. The game needed some serious balancing done since it felt almost impossible for the heroes to win. They've had a ton of testing sessions. Guess it was beyond repair.

Like Cainiac said, they're several games too late with this. They probably should have put a bullet in the series after #2, which I thought was bad. Never played #3 because people said it was significantly worse than two. Fable Legends looked like a disaster from the start. The surefire way to differentiate a Xbox fan from an Xbox fanboy was to get their reaction on Fable Legends. If they said they were looking forward to it they were clearly a blind fanboy, because nothing about that game has ever looked even decent.

Sucks about Press Play cuz I've heard Max was good and I've seen Kalimba in action and it did look fun. Their new game did sound bad though, it's funny because MS let the fans vote for Press Play's next project in September last year just to shut it down 6 months later. Their new game:

Knoxville is a third-person, multiplayer action game that deals with fragile alliances and survival, in a game show setting. It’s inspired by films like “The Running Man” and “The Hunger Games,” and players must work together and against each other.

Microsoft sucks with indie developers that they acquire and bring into the fold. They locked up Twisted Pixel just to have them release one (terrible) game before parting ways with them. Now they're completely disbanding Press Play.

Its not really like Puzzle Quest at all. There's no real strategy to matching the gems, you mostly just match the biggest group you can find. The gem matching is a deceptively unimportant part of Ironcast.

Kid was looking down playing on his phone. Looked up just in time to catch the bat right to the face. He got lucky as hell.
Yeah folks on that twitter feed defending him saying maybe he was using a scorebook app or something like that. Still, you gotta pay attention at the ballpark.

Nope, no matter how many times i try either an order with lots of different fishes come in which slows me down, or the touchscreen misses enough swipes here and there that I fall behind. Up til now I've been able to go through and complete each order before moving on to the next one, but tropical fury 27 has so much volume that isn't feasible. So I tried the recommended way, complete part of the order and then move on to the next one and then circle back method, but that doesn't work either, you just end up with 4 orders all coming due at the same time.

I feel like that guy in black and white on any infomercial that struggles to complete some simple task, this is supposedly one of the vita's easiest plats but i can make zero headway after hours.

I think level 27 was the only one I couldn't gold. Haven't gone back to it in a while.

So my AC guy comes out and is like wow, never saw that before.  Cant really explain why it happened other than bad connection somewhere in all those wires.  A lot of the connections were so badly burned it would be hard to tell where it originated.

Anyway, he rewired that shit and it runs like a champ once again!  He swears the rest of my unit inside and out looks great.  Mine is 13 years old but he says his is 20 and still runs great.  He says my coils look new and clean.  Must be doing something right.  Which is to say maintain your shit folks.  Maintenance is always key to keeping things running.

I just spent $105 for an hour of his time and $20 in wires and parts.  Whatever. Thats worth it.  Ima keep this thing running.

Not only did that guy save that kids face but he is jacked!  Wish I could get ripped and big like that.

Oh wait....beer...and food.  fuck that.

BTW that kid probably still has a nice big knot (and possibly a concussion) on his head from the force of that bat hitting that dudes big ass arm into his head.

So anyone picking up The Division tomorrow? I dont think I heard anyone talking about it. I was thinking I may get it due to that sweet $10 preorder cred. But only if some peeps want to carry me through the whole game.
I think Derek has his 4 man crew already set up but Pancakes and I will probably be playing together killin scrubs in pvp tho.

yeah ill just play it a day or two, get killed a shit ton and then trade it back in. Either that or Ill be a killa and keep playing it, but not likely. Either way is fine.

The 2nd run through the mission is 1000x better. No dumbass handholding through the whole thing with no threat of losing. The challenges give you an idea of how to kill your target but you can basically do whatever you want.

Derek doesnt want to play the Division with me anymore because I fucked up and got them all killed while I ran away and saved my own ass

Okay time to get some work done.

And by work, I mean sit on the couch playing vidya games while eating chips and drinking a cocktail.

Who said corporate America sucks!?!??!

This one shows the next frame where the bat swings around and probably clocks the kid in the back of the head. I love the reactions of all the other people too, especially the dude in the Incredibles jersey.

It's basically a murder sandbox. You have a kill objective and often some optional sub-objectives, and they provide you a lot of different tools and options to accomplish that task. Eventually they just turn you loose and you have to figure out your preferred method. In earlier games the gold standard was Silent Assassin where you complete the level without being detected and with little civilian body count. I know in Absolution they introduced completing levels through all the various methods to 100% it, I'm not sure if that is the same system in the new game.

You should have Hitman Trilogy (2, Contracts, Blood Money) and Hitman Absolution free on PS+ if you want to play one without spending money. Blood Money is the best one and the fastest to plat.

I think this one just gives you a target and sometimes a target weapon, but there are optional challenges as well (which take multiple playthroughs since half of em in the beta were different ways t kill the target).
