PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

Oh man generic foods (or cleaning supplies or anything) never come anywhere close to the real deal. I'd guess I have less than 5 generic products in my house.

Even fucking lint rollers. I just went out and intentionally bought the premium brand lint roller because the shitty one I purchased before just didn't do shit. Pinesol is another one where the off-brand I bought was just pathetic compared to the real deal.

cleaning supplies I agree, usually name brands are better. Your not just paying for name, your paying for the active ingredients.

EDIT: generic meds have the same active ingredients as the name brands by law. so yeah...generic for the win.

I wouldn't say I'm overly frugal. I don't mind spending money to be comfortable as far as home furnishings and whatnot, but it's not like I'm going out of my way to spend all my money on name-brand groceries.

Off the top of my head, there are only 2 foods I've found where the offbrands don't even come close to competing: Oreos and Doritos. Everything else is either passable or I can't tell a difference. I buy mostly Kroger or Great Value (Walmart) branded stuff, and their stuff is actually pretty good.
Yeah I'm only picky on Oreos, Ranch and Mayo. I can usually find a good cheap substitute for basically everything else.

As much as I love mayo, I can eat pretty much any brand. I dont get generic (not sure I have ever seen generic mayo anyway) but whichever is the cheapest mayo when I buy it is what I get. Same with Ranch, but Oreos and Doritos cant be beat for snack foods.

This game looks kinda cool. I actually kinda dig the art style, even though it's that blocky generic style that I usually don't care for. Comes out tomorrow on PS4.

It is in interesting dilemma for Sony here. They have the dominate lead. Do they think that it will keep people from buying Xbones to play with their friends who have one already, or see it as lost PS4 sales for early Xbone adopters with friends on PS4.
For me I stopped playing with some friends I used to play with. 2+ years. Now I can play with them again but still an issue for me. Say if 3 or 4 people here want to get Game X on PS4. And my other friends who are primarily XBox One users. I would have to buy two copies of a game. Which isn't going to happen. I still have to pick one. And I will very likely most of the time pick PS4. Partly because trophies and partly because I play with more people on PS4 as of now. Also still rather support Sony over Microsoft on Cross platform games.

Yeah I don't see the harm in what I'm doing yet, I just know myself and don't wanna get to that point. I guess as long as I don't get to the point of scraping up change for malt liquor or cheap whiskey then I'm good. A good drink or two a day keeps me sane.
until you accidentally pick up some girl's beer that was doctored with some drug and you end up passing out across the street in a field 20 minutes later where your friends can't find you surrounded by your own puke in 30 degree weather

Layer 21 in Infinity Drive mode on Assault Android Cactus. Shit!

One solid review is all I needed to preorder Salt and Sanctuary, apparently.

Ketchup has to be Heinz.
#yep

This is the only condiment where I have this opinion though. And its a strong one. Nothing else is even close.
At McDonalds, when you eat inside you know how they have those spigot things where you can put ketchup in a paper cup? Well fuck that shit. Its not real Heinz or something is wrong with the way its stored, so even when I eat inside I always ask for ketchup packets because I know I am getting the "real deal" Heinz.

And yeah I know its slightly altered as McDs has their own special Heinz formula. Whatever, its still better out of the packet than that stupid spigot.

Wise makes a cheap Doritos knock off that isn't too bad. Certainly not as good as Doritos but better then store brand Cola for sure.

I use the savings there to buy real NY pizza vs Dominoes.

I didn't think McDonalds uses Heinz at all. I never use their ketchup unless I'm eating there and have no choice.

I guess your right. They stopped using Heinz a couple years ago. I swear they ripped off Heinz formula then. The packets definitly taste good. Those spigots not so much...

Zimm, are you enjoying Axiom Verge?
I am. Only an hour or two in after defeating the first two bosses and dying a lot. But it definitely scratches the Super Metroid itch and I can't wait to dive back into it. Gonna be hard to decide on this or Morder when I have gaming times this week.

Kraft used to make this amazing Honey Roasted Garlic flavor, but they stopped selling it. That was my favorite. Stubb's spicy bbq sauce is also really good.
Yeah I lump Kraft right in there with other generic brands, though that may be a bit of a stretch. Any sweet bbq by them is just fine.

I don't know that I've ever had a generic bbq sauce. I always grab sweet baby rays when I go to the store. Or some kinda local bbq sauce. We bought a local one yesterday that's supposed to have ghost peppers and be spicy, but I won't be too surprised if Indiana spicy isn't actually spicy.

Famous Dave's Devil's Spit FTW. Not sure if it's local or a nationwide thing, but it's damn good.

This bbq place near me called Jimbo's had the best sauce of all time. Used to keep a bottle in the fridge. The IRS shut down their restaurant a few years back, and now they just do catering so it's not as simple as walking in the door and buying a bottle anymore. Sad times.

My brother LOVES Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce.

Vue website has updated it seems and shows the "Slim" stuff, but nowhere is MASN to be found (and YES is gone). So much for local sports in my area. :(

Reminder for those that have em, it's a half price books coupon week with 50% off coupons this weekend. Inventory varies by store, but my closest one has a vita with case and a 32gb, 16gb and 8gb memory card that would be $90 after coupon if it sticks around.
