PSNOT 3.0 - Let's Talk About University of Kentucky, Baby!

On the "that makes sense" side we have the announcement that no more bowl games will be added to College Football. Only the best 80 of 128 teams get to play!
i saw that the other day. It said something like 69% of college teams go to a bowl and three or four had losing records last year alone. Which was like one more than the last 50 years combined or something. So dumb.

Nothing about soccer knockout competitions is that dumb.
The most bizarre thing about European soccer to me is that the regular season and playoffs (Champions League) over lap.

Before today, Wolfburg was in the final 8 of the Champions League, basically one of the 8 best teams in Europe. They're also somehow 8th in Germany right now in their country league. Like, how can a team that's been able to advance in the Champions League against the best of the best struggle so much in their own country?

(The answer, I assume, is that the Wolfburg coaches have been prioritizing Champions League matches, making sure all the best players are rested and ready to go for those, at the expense of the regular season in the German league. It's still weird.)

Also they jump around playing matches don't they? I've been watching more soccer lately but I find it difficult to follow when a team plays a champions league match game #1 but then they are playing a different team in a different league before they play game #2. Unless I am just not following correctly, which is entirely possible.

Yeah they jump around regularly.

Champions league aint really like a playoffs, its just a cup competition that has no relation to the current league season. Wolfsburg did well last season and finished high enough in the German Bundesliga to make the CL. They wont be in in it next year. And yea having to juggle league matches and champions league matches is what seperates the men from the boys in soccer (IE your bayerns, reals, barcas, city, psg) that are big big clubs that have enough players to rotate to keep players fresh for both league games and for champions league.

Also your wolfsburg playing the best in europe statement is a fallacy, their group stage was really weak even though man u was in it, man u was was terrible at the start of the season, both domestic and in the champions league. They won their group so got to play Gent, who is from a lesser league than Wolfsburg and wolfsburg beat them 4-2 on aggregate, then they recently played real and did win 2 0 at home but got drilled by Ronaldo for a 3 0 loss today and knocked out. So yea they played a weak group, played a week first knockout round, then got beat by a Big club.

The coney island cream is good too? I've been meaning to pick some up, but haven't gotten around to it. I'll grab some this weekend for tailgate.
I usually like the Coney Island stuff so I would not be surprised if it is good even though I have not had that one. However, your tastes are more refined than those two yahoos so I would consider the source :)

ETA: Oh Zimm said it was good too. Probably ok then.

The BBC show is oddly inconsistent. S1E1 and E3 are great, E2 is bleh. S2 E1 and E3 are fantastic, E2 is bleh. S3 overally didn't have any standout episodes, I thought.

The actors are great in their roles, though. Adler and Moriarty were both fantastic and hopefully they'll at least bring Adler back at some point. Plus I did like John's new friend in S3 even though the episodes weren't as good.

Did anybody watch the special? The whole Victorian London setting wasn't an appealing concept so I didn't bother checking it out. I'd try it if people in here thought it was worthwhile, though.
Holy crap, Therm and I agree on something!

All those soda beers are good and all, but I don't know how you guys can drink more than one at a time. They are way too sweet. With that said I just picked up some dogfish head stuff:
-4 pk Beer to Drink music to
-4 pk Romantic Chemistry ipa

And a 4 pk of toppling Goliath pseudo sue

Actually I donr think you get any more than usual from drops but there are piss easy daily and weekly assignments that offer them. Today you get 10 credits for killing 3 elite enemies.
I see what you mean now. In just doing one daily mission, I got the daily challenge done and 1/4 of the weekly.

Ran into some glitches like that with BttF PS4; a couple of items the characters handled turned invisible, so they were just waving their arms in the air instead of motioning with a newspaper or whatever. It was odd. Not sure if that was a bug from the original version or not but I was surprised to find that the game worked much better than Telltale average until I came across that.
Been playing through Sam and Max games on the PS3 and more often than not, Sam gets stuck in his I'm holding a gun or something pose, which works out for the better because he moves faster on most screens. Might be something leftover from that.

Yeah I can't usually do more than one in a sitting either. Usually the Lady buys them and I steal one to try it.

Matchup breakdown:

The division leader in each conference with the most points plays the wild card team with the fewest points.
The division leader with the second highest amount of points plays the wild card team with the most points
3 & 4 – the second and third seeds in each division face one another in the first round.

Holy shit is that fucking complicated.
I've read through that entire post by this point and I still don't know what's going on in that gif playoff structure

I can't really drink more than one of them either. Good to have around though so I can just grab one whenever though.

There was a Not Your Father's Cherry Cola at the store last time I went. I was tempted to get it, but worried it would have caffeine in it. That's definately something I don't want mixed into my nighttime drinking.

Yea the Not your father's root beer was a great beer to share over the summer. Anytime I'd have a barbecue at the house I'd get a 6 pack for people to try out as it was usually a big hit for anyone who hadn't tried it.

Wild card teams from one division can (and in this case do, especially in the east) have better records than the 2 and 3 seeds from the other division. So the 1 seed plays a wild card team that actually has a better record than another playoff team.
It hasn't happened yet and probably won't but theoretically an entire division could suck balls yet 3 teams from it make the playoffs while 7 or 8 teams in the other division that could finish better than them would be battling for the other 5 spots (3 in their own division) and 2 wildcard.

I haven't seen that yet. I'd give that a shot. Hopefully I see it in a build your own six pack somewhere.

I haven't played La Mulana in a week now. Think I'll just consider it done, making it to the Mother was enough. The game was great fun, and really fits in the sweet spot for the type of game I enjoy.

And now to quit Rocketbirds... second time I've ran into some glitch at the start of Chapter 5 where I can't find the blue key card. The combat is pretty shitty in it anyway.

Holy fuck do I hate leaving this thread... so many idiots!!!

Its not that complicated actually. Its just stupid. And doesnt jive with what Tyler wrote out. That description says 1 vs 8 seed yet he said its 1 vs 7 in the East. Division leader with the most points playing team with the fewest points is automatically 1 vs 8.

3 vs 4 is just stupid too. Its stupid. Like my stupid fuck ing ex wife amirite!!??!
The 2 wildcard teams are the Islanders and Flyers despite having more points than the Red Wings. Detroit finished 3rd in their division while the Islanders and Flyers finished 4th and 5th in theirs. I hate the format. If the 3 best teams in a conference are in one division, they shouldn't have to kill off each other in the 1st 2 rounds.

agreed. I usually drink 2 in a day, but as far as 2 in a row, no way.

This is pretty funny, I'm going through my DS3 CE and the art book is binded backwards. Gotta love quality control.

I've been abusing the shit out of 'appear offline' so I could play division at my own pace instead of as slow as fuck like my friends normally play. Now I've only got a couple main missions left, and one more upgrade on the base. Probably gonna take a break and start up Ratchet & Clank soon though.

I was kind of hoping for a Destiny sale since I don't have any DLC yet.

#flashsalecandidate?

How come the first Lego Batman isn't part of the sale?  Otherwise, I'll just get Lego Harry Potter so I can say I played every Lego game [on the PS3].

How is Ratchet and Clank so far?

The only version on PSN is the PSP version. Harry Potter 1-4 is the same way, as is Indiana Jones 1 and 2. Rights issues, presumably.

Tyler even if you don't go back for the knight quest in S&S you should kill the Unspeakable Deep. He's not very difficult, just on the tedious side. Play as a cleric and drop your shield and one of your armor pieces (hat or chest I forget which) to get just below 25% encumbrance. You'll have a few spells to give your mace holy damage and enough focus for a single healing spell. The three holy weapons will get him down to about 1/3 health and the healing spell will let you recover from a single hit (as long as it doesn't one-shot you, which can happen.) UD only has 3 attack moves though so he's very obvious. Just be patient and attack twice at a time--that'll leave you enough stamina to roll through him before he attacks. If you die just restart with a new character and try again. It took me about ten tries but mostly because I wasn't being patient enough.

Finished up the combat stuff and ran through the 3 speed trophies really quick, did the train one and the urban warfare one on first try, took a couple tries on borneo for some reason.

Overall pretty good game. I never finished 3 on the ps3 even though we got it for free, so looking foward to playing it but not expecting much as it doesnt seem very well liked compared to 2.

91 tt away from 80k too.
