Well, This is my fist posting so be nice. Anyway I went to TRU to look for the PSONE LCD combo, and they were out of the PSONES, but the screens were listed for about 60 dollars. On the off chance I had the guy price check the LCD screen and it came up as 17.98. This was in Burlington, VT. Also I have found a mod for like 8 dollars at radioshack and the screen will work with any system. Here is a link to the mod:

Just thought I'd let yall know.........
I work at the Culver City TRU (for that person asking for Los Angeles).

I know my store has like 12 screens, they are ringing up for $26.98 though.

AFAIK that charge isn't valid on those screens. The TRU memo that talks about the recycling fee has a list of SKNs to charge the the fee on. The PS1 Screen SKN isn't on there AFAIK.

But it's true...anything with a screen larger than 3.5" is suppose have a $6 charge for it for the "recycling" fee.
A couple of TRU's have the box with note on the box stating the $6.00 charge. So I guess it's a YMMV if you'll get charged or not.

what you need to do is send it to Sony Repair Corp. at 123 Bull Ship Ave., Get Lost, CA 00001 and they'll send you a confirmation number that is two-hundred and fifteen numbers long. go to this site: yourescrewedifyougotablackscrenwithnoreciept.org and plug the number in. two-hundred and fifteen days later you'll recieve confirmation that Sony Repaur Corp recieved your black screen and send it back with a note saying "please take it back to where you originaly bought this and exchange it for a new one." you go do that and your problems will be solved. otherwise, good luck.

j/k i am still totally blitzed as my birthday celebration continues at 8:10am.
Just picked one up for $34.98, went directly to Radio Shack for the cords, took it home, connected a Dreamcast and found that I had the dark screen problem.   Off to see if I can exchange it at another TRU since I got the last one. Does any one know how difficult it would be to get another one from Sony under warranty if I need to?
Some people have recieved those, and by powering it up every so often during the day, it will work. Some of them have been hibernating.

Also, new page, new post saying "Look at my sig to find out what else you can do with your new, cheap, PSone screen"

how much would it cost to ship a combo??

I have one I may sell but I just don't know how much shipping would be. I really just want a screen and don't need the combo, I found a store near me that sells the screens for $25.

is this new, because i live sorta close to you (same state anyway) so shipping might be cheaper...if it is new, or slighlty used, i am interested, pm me, or something
That would work, but you'd still need the Camcorder cable to hook it up
Yea definitely, I mean I know it defeats the whole purpose of portability but what the hell. I haven't hooked mine up yet, but how does the screen compare to the others. My TRU had all screen 70% off.

Before you take it back, you might want to try the camcorder cord again. I had the same problem at first, but the cord wasn't plugged all the way into the unit. When you first plug it in, it can be a little bit tricky, and it took more force than I had expected to get it in there. This could be the problem, since there won't be any signal at all unless the plug is pushed all the way in.

Imagine this- I bought a fucking CASE of lcd screens! I saw only two screens on display and asked the guy how much they were- he said 15.98 each. I said I'll take the two. He said that he had more in the back...he comes out with a case of six still in the original shipping carton from Sony! So I bought all eight! Greed is good!

Can you believe that I've never sold anything over the internet? Bought, yes. Sold, no. One of these days I'll have to figure out how to do it. I'd rather trade directly with someone from this site. At this point it's hard for me to find anything that I need or want because I've been on such a buying tear.

Yea a couple of CAG's are looking for some, you can open up your own thread to trade/sell.

Thanks Wshakspear! As mentioned before, I exchanged it with no problem, took it home and sure enough the same thing, dark screen!
After reading your post, I tried unplugging it and then plugging it in a couple of times and Bingo, it works :D :D :D You definitely saved me a trip back for another exchange. Thanks again!!!

just came back from the tru in midland, tx, and they are currently doing inventory checks, so all these pieces of papers are all over the place. the lcd screens are 26.98, and there are around 15 left., since i bought this screen, it makes me want the psone....anyone know how much that is at tru, or cheap anywhere else?

Brand new factory sealed PSOne systems were previously unavailable anywhere for the last 6 months at least. However, Target started carrying them for $69.99 with three pack-in games.

$79.99, I believe. It was on sale one week for $69.99.
What is everyone doing with these screens? Is everyone really taking their system "on the road" (and so don't want to carry a TV) or somehow doing a complicated mod for their PC case? Or is there some other use I don't know about?

I mean, the screen for $18 sounds like a good deal, but I just have no use for it...
I was thinking that too... until I saw the car adapter on clearence for 6.
A mobile PS1 makes long trips up north much more palatable.

yep, it is $79.99 now.

is this pack worth it? i already have a ps1, and a ps2...the screen just looks so cool, that i was wondering if the psone would make it look even better..
does the psone lcd screen work w/ other systems? Like PS2?
if you buy the right cables it does. i have been selling a few of these to CAGers on the board. $35 shipped is the price. PM me if you are interested.

You're right, my bad, $79.99. $10 per game (the system was normally $49.99) is way too much considering TRU is blowing the games out. I can only remember one- Cool Boarders 4.

Mine was super dark when I booted mine up for the first time. I had to insert & pull out the power like 4 times before it started acting normal.

Please click the link in my sig to find out how to and where to buy the things to make a PSone screen hook up to any device

TRU in Paramus,NJ had them for $54.99. I passed on them and bought one at KB at the Paramus Park mall for $29.99, believe they are sold out now.

If you can't find the sony LCD, try looking for the intec xbox 5.6" lcd. It rings up $40 ish and comes with a power adapter, composite and S-video in and all cables.
