Important News For Amazon.com Video Games Customers

The Nintendo Wii will be available for purchase on Amazon.com on 11/19, Sunday morning (PST). We will be limiting purchases to one per household and we anticipate that we will sell through our inventory very quickly as we've received 100 times more Wii email sign-ups than consoles we'll have available for sale (i.e., for every Nintendo Wii we'll have for sale, over 100 people have signed up to be notified).

We expect to receive periodic shipments of the Wii from Nintendo throughout the holidays and we will post availability updates on the product detail page as well as in the customer discussions on the Nintendo Wii product page:

http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Wii/dp/B0009VXBAQ.

Thank you for your continued support of Amazon.com.

One Day Shipping is $13.98. We need a Wii icon.

Edit 2:
The lastest about your Wii pre-orders from 9/15 are as follows:

Hello again,

Time to answer another batch of questions.

Several of you asked for a ballpark estimate as to when pre-orders would be up again, but unfortunately I don't have any information on that right now. As I've mentioned previously, we are still working with Nintendo on the details of our launch allotment, and I can't speculate as to when everything will be in place. Once again, your best bet is to sign up for email notification on the Wii detail page if you don't want to re-check our site every day.

Speaking of the email notification, there was a request for clarification on the timing of that email. We plan to send out an email to everyone on that list prior to the next pre-order window with all the relevant details on that window. This will hopefully give just about everyone an equal and fair chance at knowing when to come online and pre-order.

Regarding the launch day allotment, anyone who pre-orders a Wii prior to the November 19 launch can expect to get theirs as part of that first shipment. Past November 19, we will be opening up sales for further batches as we get them, which we hope will help minimize confusion. We know that customers who were able to get in on the last pre-order currently have a ship date of October listed on their order, which is obviously incorrect, but this will be updated when we have an actual delivery estimate, and those customers will receive an email regarding that change.

I still don't have any information on bundles or controller availability, which one of you asked for. However, I can tell you that in previous console launches, controller availability was not typically an issue.

Thanks again for your continued understanding, patience, and feedback.

Edit: Amazon will be taking pre-orders again once they know their actual alottment from Nintendo. All exisiting pre-orders from 9/15 will stand. It also looks like you'll get your console right at launch (no backorders, in otherwords, but no guarentee on launch day). Read all about it in in this discussion thread from the Amazon.com Video Game editor.

Cheapy, you owe me for the comission on this one (just kidding). ;)
Damn, you are fast. You posted your correction before I could delete the original post!

My bad.
Haha yeah , but we can probably just add to order later on for some extra items. And yeah only 1 type system I really wish we could have gotten that green console also. They said like in spring or somthing new colors would ship though.

Best. Site. Ever!! Thanks OP, you are a life saver! Signed up for Prime.. It would be awesome to get it a little earlier.. like on Saturday the 18th. We'll see! *High fives for everyone!*

I thought they nixed the rumble feature on the Wii? Its still listed on the product page, but they also have the correct release date listed as well, so that page has been updated recently.

I wonder how many people order already and how many cause they have a quanity selection. And how many they're getting for launch. AND BTW SHIPPING JUST CHANGED TO SHIP IN 1-2 WEEKS.
amazon seems bogged down, i cant even get through the ordering process... lol
Me too - keep getting the generic "Shit got fucked up" message when trying to sign in to check out.
the rumble is in the wiimote...not in the nunchuck
Ah, I see.

Anyways, wtf, when i checkout, I get error'd

We're sorry!

An error occurred when we tried to process your request. Rest assured, we're working to resolve the problem as soon as possible. If you were trying to make a purchase, please check Your Account to confirm that the order was placed. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Site working again and yet it still says SHIPPING - TO SHIP IN 1-2 WEEKS. So that would be awesome if true of course not though.

Finally ordered... got the 1 day shipping since its still cheaper than buying it at a store and paying tax.

Dammit.....I told myself I wasn't going to do anything like this. But as an Amazon Prime member already, to have it possibly just....be here....on launch day?

I COULDN'T RESIST

Thanks, OP. You should definitely get a medal from CheapyD for affiliate monies on this one.

DOn't worry, they are planning on shipping 4 million of these things. Everyone who wants one will get one. Unless you are like me, I ordered two.

Shippinig estimate: September 25, 2006 - October 2, 2006
Delivery estimate: September 25, 2006 - October 2, 2006

Right...

Oh well. I'm still going out on launch day at possibly 6AM. Nintendo consoles usually don't sell out in my area.

I don't care if I receive mine on launch or 3 weeks after. All I knows is that my cheapass saved $5 on shipping (free supersaver) and $20.63 on tax! (which will be used towards buying classic NES/SNES/N64/Genesis/TG-16 games in the virtual console)

Agreed on the tax and shipping point.
please anyone...DO THEY CHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT RIGHT AWAY?
You should put up on main page that they don't charge you , but they usally have your credit card in a pending charge to make sure you have enough balance on the card , but DON'T CHARGE UNTILL SHIP.
i'm gonna be inside wal-mart at 11:59pm november 18th standing in the electronics department
Well if it was anything like the 360 launch, you'll be standing in the electronics department at 2 pm too.
Ohh... the excitement... will I get the Black or White Wiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!

They both look cool, I hope Black:bow:
Only one colour @ launch - you'll get white.

According to yesterday's Nintendo announcement, only white will be available at launch.
please anyone...DO THEY CHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT RIGHT AWAY?
I asked customer service, and got back this email reply:

"If the item you've ordered is sold by Amazon.com, As per our standard policy, we do not charge you for an order until it enters the shipping process, so you would not be charged for this item until it is available and we have shipped it to you. "

Very easy.

Go to "Your Account"
Click on the order. Look for the tab saying "click to cancel or change quantity"
Check box for cancel order
Confirm
Get e-mail confirmation of cancellation in .005 seconds

Thanks OP!

Awesome! I'm in for one, too bad I couldnt preorder Zelda yet....

$253.xx w/Next Day air. If I was to buy it B&M it would cost me $269.36 after taxes... So even if I get it a couple days later, its still worth it.
Woo hoo! I've been in the midst of an Amazon Prime free trial and the A9 discount-- I booted it up to overnight for $3.99 and with the A9 discount, my overnight shipped total is $249.99. :) Nothing like not having to pay tax!!

Interesting, though, because I put a "notify me when pre-order availble" thing on yesterday (all that was available for the Wii) and it didn't tell me, I had to read it here. Thank you, OP!!
What is the A9 discount?
What is the A9 discount?
If you use their A9 search engine often enough while logged in to your Amazon account, eventually your A9 discount will be active. It's 1.57% off all purchases, for both Amazon and 3rd party merchants.
