Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - General Discussion & Info

I might get this game again, I picked it up at September for like £20 completed single player/co-op and played a little online. The game just really annoyed me so I sold it for £15.

But I might give it another give, I found it for £13 and I want to have every game on my gamer card in my collection.
Anybody still play this... ? I just finished having a blast in t-hunt with these guys that were drunk off their arses. lool It was fucking hilarious. I think my best online memories so far has been with T-hunt. One time I was playing there was a guy that threw a nade straight up and it came straight down and literally exploded when it got back down to his head. Wow. lol
I have a friend who plays drunk all the time, and he has the worst luck with grenades. He is always bouncing them back on himself, and screaming "fucken fuck!" The best co-op experience I ever had was in Gears of War 1, and watching him kill himself with grenades every chance he got. One time there was an emergence hole across some dark patch, and he said in a real confident voice "I got it!" and he ran across the dark patch before I could scream "watch out for the killer birds!" Somehow he got across, with about 1000 birds chasing him, gets up to the hole and screams "fucken fuck! I got no grenades!"

Beating the whole game on Realistic was one of my greatest gaming moments, cause I did the whole thing co-op with my girlfriend. It took us about 8 months on and off.

I really enjoyed the controls and the difficulty in 2 (I was able to beat it on realistic unlike 1), but the story and the levels were so bleh. I really hope they come up with an exciting and good looking area to set the next R6.

I've rekindled my obsession with this game. I've ranked up twice so far in a short period from elite 10 to elite 12. So much fun.

Anyone heard anymore news about a new Rainbow?! :(

Anyway, my stupid decision to sell my original copy of RSV1 got me to get it again. Love it.

I've been playing this alot lately. I've never really been a fan of the versus mode and only ever played T Hunt. But i'm getting into versus now. Still I don't like the whole "run and gun" stuff people do online as its not that type of game. I just need to get better and play more I guess.

I loved the hell out of the first game online and had a shit-ton of great games with fellow CAGs (Link, KillerStephen, DamnDave, etc). I might have to try hopping into a game, but DAMN I have a lot of MP games I need to get back into (ShadowRun, R6:V2, GTA IV, Battlefield BC, etc.)

no idea if people still play this.

just picked it up off ebay for $15 and looking for people to play Terrorist Hunt with and some Versus, maybe co-op. Hit me up with a FR if interested.

Ooooh Oh!

Just got this game for cheap, I had rented it back when it came out and forgot how fun it was. If anyone wants to play any mode hit me up. Gamertag: dropbearGSH
WTF is it with people that demand you have a mic or else you get banned...

Anyway, anyone still play...
It is hard to work as a team when you can't communicate with your team...

Nobody uses mics regardless. I recently played for a month straight going for Elite and nobody used mics more often than not. People are just tardos online in that game and completely killed me from continuing to participate.

Yes, it's good to not suck individually but working together definitely makes things go easier. The only way I've had a good/decent experience is where everyone knew the best spots tactically. If not and I'm playing by everyone's position and they aren't where I expect them to be then most likely I'll die. There usually isn't time for communication because of how they spawn. I've never encountered communication other than people acting 13.

The chances of you finding a game where people are the least bit tactical are slim to none. If they are, they're having a private clan match somewhere. I did nothing but Team Leader and everyone treated it like Team Deathmatch - if you even extracted, you would get kicked.

I do mostly t-hunt. I could probably do multiplayer and be ok though.
Rainbow Six has a horrible community, the reason I stopped playing it.
It's better than CoD...

Dude, I played with you in a Team Leader match and watched you get booted for BS.

No, you didn't.

Just picked this up for the 360 since I was in need of a good tactical shooter. Played the hell out of both of them [Vegas] on PC, though. Feels a little 'better' on the 360 since it was a port anyway.

Anyone even still play it any more? It took a while to even find someone to trade with that still had a copy on CAG.

I also never really played any of the adversarial game modes, just coop or T-hunt, so I might look into those (not even sure how popular the game is online these days).

If anyone thinks they might dust off their copy, add me! (send a message before sending the invite, though) (GT on left/sig)

Bump, nobody interested I guess?

Vegas 2 is classic! Ah, the shooters that didn't have grenade launchers or tactical knives...

Didn't realize the game had such a nice server browser though, so I may just let this die out.

Vegas 2 wasn't all that great though. I was relatively bored from that game almost every time I played it. Not sure if it had to do with everyone using the FAMAS or if it was just the stale maps, but the first Vegas was a ton better all around.

I finished Vegas the other day and I'm on the second or third mission of Vegas 2 right now. I'd never played a Rainbow 6 before, and I was mostly intrigued by the idea of giant shootouts in casinos. So far, 2 seems to be not any better or any worse, just more of the same which is fine by me because it's rare a game can hold my attention long enough for me to finish it. That said, though, it's one of those things you want to keep going but you end up ragequitting and not touching it for a few days, and, in that respect, I don't know if I should be touching the multiplayer, because I'm amazed my controller still works after the beating I gave it through out the first game.

I really liked Vegas 2 (better than the first since I played it first), but after torturing myself through the "Realistic" difficulty setting in the single-player I haven't played it in a while.

I loved Vegas 2, much more than Vegas 1. I played it through on Realistic without co-op and didn't find it to be too hard. You just have to realize you can't really run and gun on Realistic, you gotta be much more strategic and tactical.

Hmm, didn't know there was a thread. Regardless, it was probably burried. :D Thanks whoever merged it!

Well, I pretty much only play on Realistic (unless I wanted to farm ACES, but I haven't gotten to that point yet). Haven't played Adversarial yet (from what I gather, the FAMAS is the most overused gun for some reason), but I did enjoy some two player terrorist hunting with some randoms. Almost everyone I met so far was pretty mature, which says alot considering you can't go 5 minutes without hearing a whiny brat in games like Halo or Call of Duty.

The majority of the Vegas players were fairly mature after COD4 came out because Vegas 2 was pretty stale to most of us who played the first a lot. I still have a huge group of friends that play Vegas 2 simply because they don't like Modern Warfare (which I can understand, I just like both series) and they are all fairly cool people. I guess I may be the minority in here with disliking Vegas 2 more that the first Vegas, but almost everything about the first one seemed a lot better to me. I mean I reached elite like 2 or 3 times on the first Vegas, on the second one I basically had to grind it out.

Also, yes the FAMAS is the most overused gun in Adversarial play because it has the fire rate of a sub machine gun and the power of an assault rifle (which it should considering it is one) with amazing accuracy. I can't think of a single weapon in the game the compares to the FAMAS in being so all around great, but that is also one of the things that drove me away from Vegas 2 were the people that only used the FAMAS and thought they were so amazing.

Looking back I guess I didn't have any trouble until the level where you're without your squad-mates in that oil refinery or whatever it was. I must have retried the last part of that level twelve times before I got through. By the end of that I had memorized the spawn points and behaviors of the AI.

Running and gunning won't get you anywhere on any difficulty, and my instinct from playing FPSs for so long is to just shoot anything that moves. It's frustrating at times when one bullet can end it but it's also that much more satisfying when you win.

My only real complaint is that you always die instantly but your stupid partners have a good minute window where you can revive them. And I know you're supposed to command them and I usually don't have a problem with that, but it would still be nice if they were smart enough to know not to walk directly into your fire or just hang on a fastrope while I'm busy getting mowed down.

When I saw this thread was bumped I was hoping Vegas 3 was announced and someone was posting about it. But that's not the case and now I'm sad.

Nope, not gonna have one for a while. Your only option that's close to Vegas I suppose is Future Soldier. I'm hoping it's decent, it looks like it has a lot of elements from Vegas and Splinter Cell thrown into a GRAW game. That could be a good thing if they have stuff right.

We managed to revive an old thread and continue talking about the game, and yet nobody's reminiscing enough to play again. >_>
Damn, ur EST too? I would've played online with you but, doubtful we'll be on at the same time. I'm PST.
Yes, am EST. I play at varying times though. I was on til like 4AM EST lastnight. Usually on at random times from noon 'til midnight-ish.

Hmm... ok, well if you see me on invite me or what not. I work til 12am pst. though. Wed is my day off although, I'm usually at a friend's getting wasted.

CLEAR! *revives*

I got into a couple adversarial games last night, and ran into nothing but douche bags. First game was these teenage-sounding kids who didn't like that anyone else on our team was using their mics, so they did stupid crap like teamkilling and T-bagging teammates. I killed one and the other said he was gonna come kill me or something, lulz.

Second game was mostly Elites (trying to brag about being "elites", even), and then half my team got kicked so they could win easier. Including me. Ugh.

So yeah, I've met a few awesome people playing pub coop, but I still could use more people if anyone's even remotely interested in playing this. Also, story coop for cheesemints.

Generally, this game has been the best Online experience I've had. Mostly for me it's been "mature" players my age or older or... at least seemed mature or older. Yes occasionally you'll run into the kinds you've described. As for an Elite... I'm considered it, but since Splinter Cell and not playing RSV I cannot consider myself an Elite. I can still contribute though...

Seriously if anyone wants to play and I'm on I'll be happy to join.

Practicing at work so I don't look so pathetic next to my ranking. I think you guys rekindled this game for me. Just have to avoid playing Splinter Cell for a while I guess. :(

I think the AI helpers got extra stupid too. I don't remember it being THIS bad.

Edit: Incase people want to get into a Tom Clancy game now is the time. NOW!
