Well, I wasn't fortunate enough to get Lost Planet or Marvel: UA today at Gamestop. I did however get:

15,000 Codes
Heroes of Mana
Smackdown vs. Raw 2K7 and...

Kingdom Hearts (Yay!) It has a little shelf wear, but it's usable!

Wait, Kingdom Hearts is a penny at GS? Drat! I saw it at a store last Saturday and passed by it.

went back today and grabbed 8 gears of war guides (half the pile), and 2 marvel ultimate alliance. Then went to EB across the street and got another pokemon battle revolution, only this one was the official nintendo one. I also noticed Tomb Raider Anniversary guides back in stock w/ stickers over the bar codes.

Thanks for the updates again guys...

Picked up at Paramus, NJ

EDIT:
This is not the trade list.
This is not the trade list.
This is not the trade list.

Picked up only what I was interested in yesterday...may go back and pick up some of the ones other CAGs are having trouble finding. If they're still there.

I grabbed about 70 guides in the past few days after the october drought (thanks guys!), maybe its time to start a new thread with two consecutive gamestop drops and a major best buy one?

I'm going to have to update my trade list after tomorrow night...

Sorry to go off topic here for a second, but I've always kind of wondered, which is the correct pronunciation of the town in which you found your haul of guides? Is it pronounced Pa-Ramus or Para-mus. I always found myself pronouncing it the latter way.

Different Gamestop drops from today -
Prima Untold Legends Dark Kingdom
Prima Lego Star Wars
Prima Sonic and the Secret Rings
Nintendo Power Super Mario Paper
Prima PoKeMon Emerald Version Value Bundle with How to Catch'Em All (2 guides shrink wrapped together)
Prima Mortal Kombat Armageddon

lol dab nab it again...went for Children of Mana...the strat gods are not with me this month...:bomb:

I don't live there but from what I know of the are its pronounced the first way

Pa-Ramus

My 2 cents -
I like the thread the way it is.
Why make it easy for lurkers?
It just takes a CAG a few minutes to get the gist of what is happening. and then double check the wiki ...

If it gets changed, I'm not sure I will be a contributor anymore.

Not trying to be onry, but I've experienced more than once, cleaned up CAG lists being printed and brought to the stores while I am there (mind you I Might be in a store 30 minutes)! Two times that stick out - the list shoppers were either from the local flea market and the other from the "bay"...
Just scooped everything they saw that was on the "list".

Ahhh ok, I've always pronounced it the second way myself. Then again, I'm also about 2 hours or so drive from there, in northeastern Pennsylvania, so who am I to say what is right for the pronunciation.

I also know a CAG who goes to that area frequently, who also pronounces it that way.

Oh and donut, I definitely agree. Having the latest drops in the first post makes it too easy for lurkers to just go out and grab any and every guide(like I used to).

After my crappy trip to my 2nd BB, I went to my 1st one and scored:

For me:
FF3
Mario Party 8 x2 (one for my parents for some reason)
Video Game Achievements & Unlockables
Virtua Fighter 5
The Darkness
Gears of War
Transformers The Game
Meet the Robinsons
Pokemon Battle Revolution
Spectrobes
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Legend of Zelda: Twilght Princess
FF2
Poket Pokedex
and 3 random code things just cause.

WTF ever

I looked at my BB a couple of days back not knowing that these guides were pennied out. Now i'll need to go back and hopefully they are still there :D
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl!! (why didn't I ask for this one)
So...are you saying it's pennied...or that you wished you had checked?

I was just at my GS and the Nintendo Power and Prima version of Super Paper Mario and Pokemon Battle Revolution are full price.
I was just at my GS and the Nintendo Power and Prima version of Super Paper Mario and Pokemon Battle Revolution are full price.
Thats probably because they arent pennied

OK anyways, I know I saw them all in the pile. I'll see if they are there tomorrow. I will try and pick them up or at the very least snap a few pics. Maybe someone just put them there not paying attention.

(edit: pics of the price tags saying $0.01)

As usual, I found several copies of most of the recent drops at the Crabtree Mall BB here in Raleigh. The only one I didn't see was Mario Party 8. In the past I've bought 8-10 guides at a time at this store and had no problems. However, this time they would only allow me to buy 3, claiming that the guides were on clearance and therefore the number I could buy had to be limited. Has anyone else run into such an issue?

The masculine woman working at the front even threatened to call mall security when I asked to see some sort of documentation that might prove that I could only buy 3 in total. She was incredibly confrontational, very rude and loud. I thought she was BSing, but then she actually called security when I wouldn't quickly pick out 3 guides and leave the store. It was completely ridiculous, the worst experience I've ever had at any retail store.

At the Patchogue, LI, NY store, they've been capping me at 3 copies of any particular guide (so there's a bunch left for my fellow Long Island CAGs there...Acheviements, FFII, Ninja Gaiden are the ones that come to mind immediately).

EDIT:
This is not the trade list.

Damn that's nuts - Call the BB 800 number and lodge a complaint!

This is my first post, so I'm hoping I'm doing it right: I haven't seen this posted yet, but I was at GS today (found a Prey and 2 FEARs), then happened to ask the guy to scan Resistance and amazingly, it came up as a penny. I bought 2 of them. This was a Chicagoland store.

That sounds like my local BB where the one manager lady grabbed a non stickered God Of War II(non LE) guide from my hands and went back to media and grabbed a stickered one, since the non stickered rang up .01 .

I was gonna call BB and complain, but I figured then they would crack down even harder on guides going out the door. I've also experienced a manager or two giving me that 'limit' bullshit line, but since I have assloads of old guides already, I don't really complain since I could end up getting NONE at all.

By the way, I know I mentioned this prior, but has anyone checked the updated WOW Atlas @ BB, since I haven't seen any of them in stock around here lately or even on their site.

Also, has anyone besides me seen the GT4 hardcover book @ a Best Buy store? I ask, since I'm sure that would probably have pennied by now too. Only place I'd ever seen it up till when I saw it at the Paramus, NJ BB over a year ago was GS/EB.

Almost got denied on the guides at BB last night. I had 4 (1 of each title), the part-time girl rang them up with a full-timer looking over her shoulder. As soon as the first one rang up at a penny, the full-timer said "We can't sell you this for this price." I told her that I was just in the store the day before and bought a couple. She went over to her manager, and came back a couple minutes later to tell me "My manager said that I can't sell these to you." So I walk over to the other register where the manager is checking people out, and asked her "Is there some problem with my transaction?" She says "Yes, we can't sell those for a penny." I explain to her that I was just here yesterday and purchased 2 guides for that price. She looks over her should at another manager, asks him in a hushed tone if she can sell them, and then the guy looks over at me and says "We aren't supposed to sell these." I repeat that I had just purchased some the day before, and he then replied "Okay. We can sell you one guide."

I told the guy I want to buy 4 guides, and he says "Okay, we can sell them to you as long as they are different titles." I told him they were, walk back to the original register where my guides were waiting, and tell the cashier that they said it would be fine. The full-timer then yells over to her manager (who is like 30 feet away) "Is it okay to sell these?" After a quick confirmation from the manager, she sells me the guides.

Geez, now I know which cashier to avoid in the future. At least I got some guides for trading, though.
So what I can do with these guides? Does gamestop/eb games take them for trade ins?
No, but EB Games USED to back before they got sucked into the monolith of Gamestop Corp. You CAN, however, make a trade list on here and sell/trade them for a couple dollars(up to $5 is usually most reasonable, unless it's a hardcover book) each plus shipping.

You can ship them via Media Mail, which is the cheapest form of shipping available, that I know of. But just be sure to put them in bubble mailer envelopes and put a piece of cardboard on at LEAST one side, since the PO tends to toss around packages like nothing.

LOL Shieryda, sounds like the one employee @ the BB further from me(15 miles away), who had to call over a manager even after I 'prepped' them that I got guides there for .01 before. Then, that manager called over ANOTHER manager and they both finally agreed they could 'let me go with one of each', since I was grabbing 2 of each guide that dropped.

I just wish my local stores would do like the ones I remember in NJ, where they would put .01 price stickers on them and even make up a shelf tag for them @ .01 .

ONly 2 guides is missing from my BB store
Ninja Gaiden Sigma .... 97807615571
The Darkness .... 0744009170

I got them all :)
Mario Party 8 .... 97807615563
Pokemon Battle Revolution .... 97807615563
Marvel UA .... 0744008441
Virtua Fighter 5 .... 97807615570
Final Fantasy III .... 0744008484
Gears of War (non-LE) .... 0744009421
Zelda Twilight Princess Premier (GC) .... 97807615557

I bought

Mario Party 8 Prima x2
Virtua Fighter 5 Brady Games x2
Rogue Galaxy DoubleJump Books

I struck out on the Zelda Twilight Princess Premiere guides the Wii guide rang up $19.99 and the Gamecube guide was not shrinkwrapped no sku barcode the cashier could not scan it.
So I just got 11 of them....6 mario party, 4 gears, and 1 darkness...now where can i trade these in? :|
Umm, pretty much nowhere. Guides really are for personal collections, giving away to friends, and for trading with other CAG's.
where do you find these guides at bestbuy, I have never seen them
The guide section is usually right by the games, although, they can also have guides in the PC gaming area too.

I really miss those used guide sections at EB and GS. I remember getting some good stuff. I'm still pissed that I passed on a Star Ocean: TSS guide I saw at a Babbages in town several years back. McVans is the only place left in my area that deals in used guides. Their prices aren't very good though.

My local game shop I always go to has guides(mostly stuff from penny drops) and I've been able to get $1 each for some common guides selling them to the owner before.

He also had a Xenosaga I guide in the stacks, but I guess other people looked through the stacks of guides quickly and just tossed it aside a time too many, as it now looks like ass.

He has tons of stuff, including Grandia III's and the other RPG guides that dropped from GS a while back, but most are probably in horrid shape by now from others just indiscriminately tossing them aside.

Oldest one he had was a Mortal Kombat II guide, which WAS in decent shape, but has been largely MIA the last couple times I've gone there.

Either way, I'm curious to see what he has now. I may be headed there later today, if my one friend comes to pick me up(we're supposed to hang out tonight), but hopefully she picks me up soon since he closes @ 6pm.

Since nobody believed me I went and picked them all up today.

Bleh. Looks like I can't get out until Friday or Saturday.

Oh well, they'll be there.

Can someone take a look at the wiki and tell me if it's complete for the latest BB drop? I lost track when the thread exploded. Thanks.
