Only things that dropped from the site are

Cheat Code Overload 2010 Volume 1 (Green cover)
Codes & Cheats 2010 Fall Edition
Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light
Halo Reach Collectors Edition

Which I believe have all been confirmed.
I can confirm (again) the 2 actual guides. Also saw one of the code books, but didn't get a good look at the title.

Oh boy. Are we going to see CAG jumping in dumps again?

Magic 8-ball says 'strong possibility'.;) For the Halo Reach Legendary I'd consider it, but only if I got there TONIGHT after closing cuz trying a day after a drop means it's buried in other cardboard crap.

The odds of me jumping in is none. They lock the trash.

You should put "Dumpster Free" on your trade list. I'd be more inclined to trade with you if that was the case.

Some do, some don't. I was recently able to pick up an Alan Wake and Mario GAlaxy 2 Hardcover guide from a GS near work that they must have missed when pulling.
Thanks for the link, but the closest GS by me still showing one in stock is an hour away.
Don't worry. I didn't get any cause I was at BB getting my $30xbl card and missed this. All my GS show in stock but by 8am tomorrow I'll bet they will all be gone.

Unless they rip off the shrinkwrap, any guides pulled out of the dumpster will be totally sealed.

fucking get over it already!

Except for those with Chinese leftovers that seeped through the small holes in the shrinkwrap. Mmmmm It smells like soy sauce.:D
Yeah, I just had two very nice employees tell me it (HReach CE) pennied. The one guy told the other to go look in the back to see if they had one to give to me, but he came up empty. Still cool of them though.
My home town GS is like that. They let me have a Black Ops First Strike poster that was taken down.

Gainesville, FL GameStop is the worst. They have crappy cases, sullen attitudes, and throw everything away as soon as they penny out. The poor environment.

Listen, you do whatever you want. I wasn't talking to you.

I won't have to worry about trading guides with you anyway... when does your investigation end?

When the mods decide to not hate me.

Anyways, no need to be insulting. It just gets over the top with all the bitching about DDing.

I'm not trying to stir the debate at all, but even if I'm willing to look in a dumpster to see what's there, I do think Confoosious' rule about traders having an affirmative obligation to disclose if a guide was taken from a dumpster should be followed with this round of GS drops.

I don't bitch about it. You guys can do whatever you want. I just think it's proper, in the interest of full disclosure, to indicate whether a guide has been at one point in the dumpster if you're gonna sell/trade it.

If I dropped say a halo figure in the toilet, would you be happy if I sold it to you?

I think we've reached a weird place where people who have a problem with dumpster guides are the kooks. Anyway, on topic, I still have an open pickup for a few guides at a local store that miraculously hasn't been canceled. Hoping to finalize tomorrow.

That depends. Is it 'zomg teh rarez'? If so, Febreeze that mf'er and none will be the wiser.

Kidding. I did mention which ones I yanked from their cardboard tombs the last time GS dropped some.

And I think if this line of discussion is gonna continue then it needs to head to the discussion thread before THIS thread devolves further and gets nuked as well.:bomb:

Let us know how that goes. I (and probably some others) have a open pick up for 3/14!

I hope not. I think rules for trading is On Topic. After all, there's a cycle of life on guide drops: reports, feeding frenzy, trade, lull... rinse repeat.

Yeah I have an order still processing as well. Still waiting to see what will happen. I already got the guide from another location that the order is for(Sly collection) so if I get it I will just put it up for trade then.

I'm gonna look in the trash because the GS I visited already had them in a box, ready to go somewhere. If they toss them in the box then they will not get a single piece of dirt on them.

Ocala ain't much better man. I tried getting penny guides at the GS in Gainesville by the Wal-Mart on 441 (forget what the road is called up there). They rang up for a penny and were still on the shelf and he refused to sell em. The guy I met at the Oaks Mall GS was nice and he said if they had em he would have sold em to me, but sadly they tossed em already.

The Ocala stores even banned me for a few weeks when I traded in some games the managers told me were fine to trade in. I got it overturned, but it still ticked me off.

Jumping in Dumpsters is alright if u willing to do it, but I think people should post when trading if the guide was from the dumpster or not.
If the guide is completely sealed (no holes/rips), then u can use a clean wipe to wipe it off. Not really a big deal. I was just saying that is, are guides reallly worth all that we are willing to throw ourselves in the dumpster? I'm not hating. If u do it, more power to u. I have no problems if people get their guides from a dumpster as long as they state that they got it from a dumpster.

FYI- I get my guides from Best Buy and try to get mostly sealed to the mint to greatest condition. I had some alright picks. I do regret leaving some good ones because I didnt want it.

my gamestop is a gamestop only dumpster and its not one of those big compactor ones. its a normal small family size one that anyone 6ft or taller can stand and just bend over and reach to the bottom easily. literally the worst garbage ive ever seen in it was broken game discs and cases and the occasionally soda can from an employee.

Already pulled at the local GS. They were in the back, but they wouldn't sell them to me.

Interesting thing...it seems the pulled penny guides at GS in this district never reach the dumpster. The employee said they have to pull them and then the DM comes by each store and picks them up. He then takes them home and 'disposes' of them. Likely on eBay or craigslist, amirite?

Alright. I assume no more guides were discovered from yesterday's drop?

If someone gets info on another drop today I'll just merge that with yesterday's info and do one big update later.

I am so ticked at my local GS. If I cannot make money or save a good chunk of change I am done with them. I never shopped there much to begin with, but with K-Mart, Amazon, and CAG in general I am so over them.

I go in to my local GS and ON THE SHELF MARKED AS A PENNY is the Reach guide and he says he can't sell me it, that I need to call and talk to the manager tomorrow and see if he'll sell me it. I understand they could possibly get in trouble, but don't put it on the freakin shelf with a price sticker that says $0.01!

I've had that happen before too. It's frustrating when the employees put back out guides that're clearly marked $.01 on the shelves.

A couple years ago the one store kept putting copies of the Gran Turismo 4: Driving The Game hardcover book back on the shelf a day or two after telling me they couldn't sell or give them to me when they rang up a penny.

I don't think I've ever had luck with penny guides at Gamestop but I managed to get a free Halo Limited Edition today...thanks for the heads up!

It's very frustrating. Considering Best Buy not only sold me 14-20 penny guides, but also insisted I buy the other 45 they had left. Meanwhile GS won't sell me ONE for a penny.

i was reading the faqs and you made a small typo

Q: I found a penny guide and a clerk denied me! I'ma report 'em!

A: Whoa, hold your horses there, parDner! First of all, not a question. Second, just because something is on the shelf, the clerk does NOT have to sell you that item. Most stores are PRIVATE property and as such can deny you just about anything they want - including a sale. The best advice is to not be rude, not be arrogant, and just try hard to get them to have pity on you.

Difference is it was marked as a penny and put on the shelf. If it wasn't on the shelf and/or wasn't marked a penny I wouldn't be upset. But someone printed a price sticker out, found the guide, put it on the guide, and then put it back on the shelf for it to be sold.

Oh, I thought you were directing that post at me, but perhaps you are in a round-about way :p

and thanks ;)

Don't get why I get banned when other people mention online pickup.

What's the big secret?

I went there and was able to pickup the guides I was missing for 1 cent.

jeez.

IIRC, your post would be deleted by a mod and then you'd post it yet again.
I feel a bout of deja vu coming on...

Alright. I'm guessing by the lack of responses in here that either no one checked GS and/or there were no other guides that dropped.

So I'll update the second n third posts within the next 20 minutes or so.

I checked and there was nothing new, if there was none of the guides were at the gamestop I checked. Nothing disappeared online from last night as well.

Oh my gosh, he's actually doing it right?! (not the ebay junk, but picking them up from the store and disposing of them himself!! Zoinds.)
