They showed up at one cent when they were scanned at the register and no override needed . All my BB got rid of the racks of guides for Guitar Hero and Lego Dimension Store Displays . Out now on the bottom of the game rack guides have started to return. Hopefully this is the return of BB guides !

Sounds like my store since that was all I really saw yesterday... hmmm.... I asked an employee in yellow and was told that a ton of guides sold quickly in the last week and he wasn't sure why.

thanks, picked up majoras mask along with what you got. they had a bunch of guides that wouldn't ring up. could not talk them into giving me those for a penny also! at least they were cool enough to check them all

lol, what's crazy is.... those guitar hero and lego dimensions shelves aren't being touched either. I mean... they are huge.. and no one is touching them.

 
Our prayers have been answered. I never thought I'd see this day. I don't think my local BB has any of those guides in stock anymore, but I will definitely have to check some other BB stores. 

 
Return of BB penny guides!?!??! Let's get some more confirmation! I'll go tomorrow around my area to check if they ring up a penny.
 
Ff type 0 HD and splatoon also.

Infinity 2.0 both versions ring up not for sale, as does donkey king country returns.

I have a significant amount of extra smash bros soft covers if anyone is looking for one.
 
They exist. Batman and Smash Bros paperback for $.01. Watch Dogs full price. Smash Bros CE not in system, quoted 34.99.

Finally hit up my local Best Buy and they had about 30+ Smash Guides has tags for a penny and also saw a Majoras Mask for a penny got one of each if anyone gets a Witcher 3 let me know 

 
I'm guessing only select Best Buys have guide sections anymore?  The two I went to recently had 2 guides total (Zelda Triforce Heroes and MGS5).

 
I got a Witcher guide. I saw a softcover SSB but I did not see posts about it being on the list until I got home. Like others have said, my Best Buy appears to have significantly reduced guide inventory. I only saw guides for Guardians, Triforce Heroes, and one AC Syndicate guide. I went to two different locations. The guides were near the games and not on a dedicated guide rack. That space was taken over by Lego Dimensions figures.

 
My local BB had one each of Splatoon, Zelda, Witcher III, Batman and FF. Huge stacks of Halo 5 soft cover / hard cover, AC Syndicate sc/hc and Zelda TFH sc/hc. Odd since the single ones weren't there the other day .
 
Well I got an in store penny guide for the first time ever today. Found a Arkham Knight CE and Witcher 3 guide while picking up my Majora's order and using the $5 mystery certs.
 
I was able to pick up Splatoon. First time in getting a guide I wanted! Couldn't find smash or MM, if anyone could hook me up with one, that'd be awesome.

Which store were you looking at? I'm admittedly only halfway paying attention to the goings-on in this thread, but I have to hit up GS and BB in the near-future.

 
Thanks guys. I haven't gotten a penny guide at BB in quite some time. Picked up an FF Type 0 CE, Witcher III CE, Batman AK CE, and GTA V (mangled, but usable). None were tagged, but they all rang up a penny. I think the young lady was so excited to meet another black female gamer that she didn't care. I think I've found my inside girl.

So the hard cover Witcher 3 guide is pennied? I thought it was only the paperback...fuck.

That sure is a double standard generalization.

Wish someone sold me penny guides for being a white guy lol.
 
Finally!!  Lucked out on the penny guides.  Never had any luck on finding them before.

I have 2 BB near me and 1 was already out of the old guides, the other still had display.

Picked up:

1st run:  2 Batman AK CE (1 for me, 1 for my bro) and Batman AK sofcover(sc)

2nd run: Witcher 3 sc (me..weird didn't see it on the 1st run), SSB sc (for my nephew #3) and FF type 0-hd CE (for my nephew #1)

Thanks guys & gals.  May make a 3rd run soon.

Well, her saying "i am always excited to meet other black chicks that game" and "this is probably an error, but dont worry, ill hook you up" helped me to draw my conclusion. She an I actually walked around the gaming section for almost 20 minutes talking about our favorite games and what upcoming games we were excited about. She said to make sure I come back when she is working so we can chat more.

Anywhoo, im sure if you go to the right neighborhood, you will find someone who would be happy to sell you some penny guides or other shit just cause you are a white guy.

Long live BBY Penny guides! I was able to score a Jurassic World yesterday. They had nothing else for guides except Tri-Force Heroes and some Halo 5 books. Perhaps someone overlooked the JW guides. Got all nervous that the clerk would deny it, he did do a double take when he rang it up, but I got a "Your lucky day, only a penny, can't beat that!" No, no you can't :D

That might be the best way to get penny guides I've heard yet to date. Might want to play that up, as an inside hookup balancing out the "not too bad looking" point. :whistle2:$

 
Was able to get an Akham Knight CE guide yesterday. That's all they had besides Assassins' Creed, Triforce, Halo, and Tales of Zestiria. Got two DI 3.0 figures to pad the purchase.
