Resident Evil 5 -Gen. Discussion - Lost In Nightmares & Desperate Esacpe DLC Out Now!
Anyone know how to get an S ranking on chapter 6-2? I got an S in every category except for enemies defeated, I got a C. I only found 7 of them in the level, am I missing something?
Kill the little black monsters that the boss spits out.

Wow I just finished Ch. 5-3 on professional and got my ass handed to me during
the boss fight with Wesker and Jill.
It's kind of lame that you cannot heal your partner until he/she stands up again when the game barely gives you enough time for your character to even stand up.

I feel your pain, 70 deaths aka the hardest part of professional
Anybody seen the leaderboards for the professional runs?
someone did it in 1 hour 20 mins, seems damn near impossible if you ask me
I feel your pain, 70 deaths aka the hardest part of professional
Oh man. I died 77 times during that part.:bomb:

6-2 - To get an S ranking you need to kill the little black enemies that the boss spits out after damaging him.

The Jill & Wesker
isn't that hard on Pro if you shoot the device while the other person is holding her. You have to put her on the ground like 4-5 times but its not that hard. My partner and I were not even attempting to pull it out while she was standing up.

Other than that part, professional was a breeze.

Should make Professional a breeze.
You'd think that. But it doesn't at all.

The Jill and Wesker fight will piss you off to no end. Well it did for me at least

I'm sure that sequence will still suck. I'll probably switch over to my infinite ammo L. Hawk for that part...

Took me around 3 days to beat the game, was a fun experience overall. I played it on Amateur though, since the only other RE game I played was RE4 on the Wii.

Now I'm just trying to get all the cheesemints.
damn, The Mecerinaries is fucking hard (Prison)
I agree, Prison is probably the most difficult map in in terms of trying to unlock the character linked to it. Overall mercenaries mode is pretty awesome, though I wish it could've been more than just 2-player co-op. I finally finished unlocking all the characters, but I seem to stick with just using
the BSSA version of Jill
. The character may seem weak, but I like the weapon layout and the speed the character has. It seems that most people I've played with online just use either version of
Wesker (Midnight/RCPD)
because the weapons are so powerful, however I think it makes the mode way too easy (unless you are trying to SS rank). I've only S ranked one map and that was Village I think.

You dont even need that.. just hide and bring a low damage pistol. It takes exactly six times of throwing *that person* down and then pulling *it* off.

It took me and a friend about two hours to accurately figure it out. hope it helps.

But now, after 1king the game, 100 percent completion, SS rank in all mercanies modes, all special features bought, 400K + gold, 200k+ special points, I have nothing left to do.

*crosses fingers* Come on versus mode...

I bought some decals from my red elite:
Whats the best weapon to get infinite ammo for?

I already have it for the M3 shotty.
I'd suggest the L. Hawk (MAG), but others would say the S&W 500 (MAG). I prefer the L. Hawk since it has less kickback and a higher rate of fire when compared to the S&W 500, but keep in mind that the L. Hawk does the least amount of damage out of all the magnums in the game.

In my personal opinion, as long as you have the L. Hawk and the infinite Rocket Launcher (which can be obtained by completing the game in 5 hours or less; easily done on amateur) equipped, the game becomes mostly a walk in the park.

I don't have infinite ammo for any magnum, but I got it for the M93R Samurai Edge, which I say it's enough for you play through the game with.

I just got the infinite rocket launcher, and I must say, it makes the games too easy.

So I got the game in the mail from gamefly today and naturally my 360 died! Freaking put out money for gamefly, drive up to Michigan to pick up my little brother for a fun weekend and my 360 which was just repaired like 3 months ago starts freezing on me!

The M93R isn't the Samurai Edge. The M39R is the "Matilda" from RE4 and the auto pistol from RE2.

The Samurai Edge is a custom gun for a special character in Mercenaries... and they were fully customized handguns issued to STARS members for RE1.

The
Wesker Jill
fight can actually be a breeze if you use the infinite rocket launcher and are playing co-op.
It works just like the first part of the last battle with Wesker. Distract him while the partner fires a rocket up his ass. He'll catch it, you blow it up, instant victory.

All done, beat the game last night. My initial complaints about the game faded as I got used to Sheva being retarded. That being said, the decision to force co-op was an unfortunate one. If I had to rate the core Resident Evil games based upon the fun I had playing them when they first came out, this one would probably be at the bottom while RE:4 would top the list.

That's what I get for reading info on gamefaqs. I didn't know the name, so I just looked it up.

You don't necessary need to use the rocket launcher. The magnum will do fine, considering the way the rooms were set up upstairs. My cousin and I did it (because he missed with the rocket launcher shot) so we can get the gem that the boss drops after he leaves.

Well that and when it takes one kick from Jill and a Combo from Wesker, your done for. You really gotta get a strategy going before hand in that battle. I did post up how to take Jill out easily. Wesker, on the other hand, is another story all together.

God DAMMIT. Every time I play this I get angrier and angrier about this forced co-op. I'VE BEEN STUCK ON ONE fuckING CONVEYOR BELT FOR TEN fuckING MINUTES BECAUSE SHEVA IS TOO fuckING STUPID TO HURRY HER ASS UP BEFORE A BOX PUSHES HER BACK!!!!

The forced co-op is a double edge sword, I doesn't seem to fit right in a RE game, and the AI is awful at times, but everyone wants live play these days, and making the game Co-op from the start, is much better then just tacking on some extra character into the game. Personality I do think RE should be more a SP game, but Co-op is pretty fun and even more so in mercenary's, overall the game could use a lot of the next one. like zombies......

Wesker is not that bad at all. After you throw the bitch down it will be two on one. Wesker will follow a player and concentrate on one. The other needs to get on his side or behind him and fire at him. Your shots should hit and one of the players should be close enough to do the combo. Another great time to do this is when he kicks a player through the door. He usually has his back turned and is concentrating on the player he kicked through the door. Easy shots with the LT Hawk. On Professional, the best tip I can give you is when you fight the bitch, put first aid sprays in your "Quick Select" Menu. If she hits you, you can not hit the "X" Button to automatically heal like other battles, just hit right or whatever on your D-Pad so equip it fast, than use it. Make sure you are close to your partner the whole time as well. I still not have figured out the real formula on how to tear the thing off the bitches neck....still frustrating....

Easiest way to get the thing off of Jill is to get her restrained and have your partner/you shoot the piece on her chest. She should get stunned and then you get to throw her on the ground, I think after the second time you throw her you get the option to pull off the thing. It seems so much easier to do this way, I spent like 30 minutes with someone trying to pull it off her standing up and it takes maybe 5 minutes when she is on the ground.

I didn't have any problems with Sheva not following me on the conveyor belts at all. I even used that spot to get the "good relationship with your partner" Achievement.

To get the piece off of Jill's chest (while she is standing), you just have to try over and over and over. Each time it reduces her life a little bit. It's a horrible design.

Doing it while she is standing takes way too much time and effort. Shooting the piece on her chest weakens it twice as quick, then you also get to throw her and try to pull it off while she is on the ground. I thought it was a terrible design as well until I found that out, then it just became pretty easy.

Please HELP!.

A few questions guys.

#1. I am so used to RE4 like try playing a certain level but if I fail or waste too much ammo or health I will load the old save file and repeat the stage. When I try that with RE5, And restart a previous mission I feel like I am cheating because I start with all the ammo from before, plus all that I get again, plus I now have 3 MP5's!!! because I restarted there. Question is playing like this bad or cheating?? Am I giving myself too much of an adavantage???

#2. Where do I get the H&K P8, it says its for sale from the begining but I can not find it?

#1. Regardless of how much you think you're 'cheating' having 3 MP5 with expendable ammo is not that big of an advantage. This is true, especially as the game progresses. Also, if you sell them, the amount you get is peanuts when compared to the upgrade costs.

#2. If it's on sale in inventory screen, then you missed it (with a very few exceptions). The good thing is that you can play up until the point where you find it, and then quit and save, without having to redo everything. Not really certain of its location right now.

I started playing REmake on the Gamecube today and man the game has come a long way. fuck, you think it's hard now? Play the original. It's very frustrating.

1. The game is designed this way. If you think you are cheating, then don't do it. Just play the game as you normally would.

2. I believe you can only buy the gun from the shop from Chapter 3-1 and on.

The last game cannot really be compared to the earlier versions. This last game is much more of a co-op shooter than the others.

Prior to this game, RE games were all about thinking about ammo conservation, and picking your fights wisely. There was no need to kill every enemy you faced, and often times running was the better choice.

Those games also provided you with plenty of ammunition if you looked carefully, and the ever popular humongous storage box (all placed throughout the game).

Also, in all of those iterations there was always some sort of cheating tool (gameshark, etc.). Yeah, I know people think it robs the game of any fun, but I'm just pointing out the differences (since those choices are not available in the current gen games).

Where did you get those decals from?, I bought the Red Elite aswell and would totally love the Umbrella logo on it, maybe on my laptop aswell

Thanks in advance

I am This close to buying a used Gamecube from Gamestop for $30.00

And buying Resident Evil 4 $17.99 - 30% off

(and Twilight Princess)

mainly because I really like Resident Evil games zombies etc.

But I liked RE4 soo much more Never finished it.

And I can not recommend the Wii Version because of the Control scheme.

Yes its fun for like 15 minutes the your arms get tired.

But the 480p resolution and Component cables help a bit.

Resident Evil 5 is fine but, The Item Management is Terrible.

Plus the Selling of Treasure and Items is bad RE4 give you alot of money for Guns you sell.

Yeah that part is quite annoying. I just get back on the conveyor belt and show her dumbass how-to do it otherwise the AI would never finish it.
Beat it last night, great game but really the ending or at least the ending boss fight was just cheesy and unexpected.
The 3rd Wesker battle was too easy. Practically half-assed. Either way I enjoyed the game. I need that maxed out Magnum.

Did you try sitting with your hand/wrist resting on your thigh? Because that's how I played, and my arms never got tired. So many people have complained about this due to trying to hold the controller in the air the whole time.

Easily the worst part in Pro mode. I think I died like, 40 times.

Pro is still kinda hard even with decent guns with infinite ammo. Wondering if I can get through it with original weapons.
Is there any point where I should have an abundance of money on veteran?
I wouldn't say so. My first play through was on Veteran and I think the game was pretty well balanced in that mode.
Is there any point where I should have an abundance of money on veteran?
Good Question moojuice.

I use to do this alot in Resident Evil 4, and I am doing it now in RE5 as well.

By not selling my Gold and Treasures
I hoard them practically because it looks cool to have all the items gold and jewls diamonds etc RARE hard to find items. and then in one big Buying binge sell everything and have like. $300,000 by level 4.

Because its a Survival horror game, so the challenge is surviving.

You ruin the experience for yourself I think by gradually bit by bit upgrading weapons.

I rather do it all at once, and feel the improvements.
