Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles! 950,000 sold! IGN: 7.9! 1-UP: 7.5! GT: 8.3!
well the good news is yes you can re-earn stars as many times as you want :) However once you get enough to upgrade all your guns, there is nothing new to upgrade...so don't expect new outfits for Jill, Ada, or Rebecca :(

Yes, you will find green herbs around and of course the first aid kit gives you an extra life.

As for dodging, do you have you nunchuck attached to the Zapper or unattached? When it comes down to shake the nunchuck, shake the back of the zapper more wildly and most of the time it will work. It's too bad you can't pistol whip with your gun :( From what another poster said, according to GAMESFAQ, if you *tap* the side of the wiimote IR area with your index finger, it will reload for you :) It works 95% of the time.
Ah, that's good.

Alright, so it automatically uses those herbs for you? You don't have to worry about keeping helath up?

I have the nunchuck attached to the Zapper. Tapping the wiimote would work, but isn't reload set to the Nunchuck when in Zapper controls, and not Wiimote?

I'm going to try the second scenario and see if I get better results.

No... The herbs store a good amount of health when you pick it up but does NOT store them for when you need them later on... so if you pick it up and your at 100% health, well you just wasted it.

As for your controls, it depends on how your configuration is set. Mine is on Zapper default.

Let me know if you find the first hand cannon(looks like a magnum) (the bottom on of the branch) I suspect it's in the RE1 Scenario, 3 mission.. damn I need to pick up the calendar and hint guild for this game.

I redid the first mission. Tapping the IR worked. I have it set to Zapper default too. I hate the waggling, but other than that, controls are good. I have a feeling this is going to go poorly, though. I had a tough time with the very first boss.

I'll probably need to take it off the Zapper eventually so I can get shots off quicker.

to be honest with you, I would play the rest of the game zapper-less... yes it defeats the purpose of buying the zapper, but I think once you get use to where stuff is, how to effectively kill enemies and so on, you can go back with the zapper on and raise your score. The first time playing with the zapper it felt like it was uncalibrated or even broken, but as I stood back more and got comfortable with it, replaying the game was pretty good with the zapper (as long as I don't use the shotgun or standard pistol with it).

Small Q: When Upgrading Wep, is there a way to change what you upgrade?

ie: First is Ammo Increase
Capacity Increase
Power

Do you have to do those in order?

my only gripe of this game is when you run out of ammo for a weapon in the middle, you have to scroll through it each time which really hinders you in tight situations.

Like if you have 4 weapons on you (pistol, shotgun, sub machine, and magnum) and in that order. Let's say you run out of ammo for the shotgun, whenever you scroll through your weapons you have to pass the shotgun each time. I wished they would just take it out of your inventory or just move it allt he way to the end.

Ya. I gotta memorize order. Like if I run out of ammo on pistol, I tap "C" 3 times for my shotty.

unfortunitly RE4 spoils us and we cannot do this in TUC :( sorry

Yea a lot of the games enemies just waste ammo. There are a lot of spots where the camera will turn around you will spot a half dozen zombies, and your character will run away before you kill them. I would save ammo and if you have a grenade to spare, toss it that way before your character turns around. I am not sure if you get credit for the kill since it's an off screen kill though.

I just beat the guy with the tentacles but all my scores sucked (C-B level). So.. I don't think I unlocked the next one because I only have 3 photos on the main screen. I guess I gotta repeat some of em. :p The level with those black monsters that looked like spiders.. omfg that was some creepy shit -- scariest level. lollol im such a sissy. :d

I love how whenever you round the corner, it's either real slow or like real fast -- then there's a surprise waiting for you!

If you played most of the Resident Evil games, then you know what to expect...so it isn't that scary.

Running out of ammo on a boss of a bitch fight (marcus' final form on the shaft ride), now that's scary.

Unfortunately I haven't played any RE games except for RE4 for the Wii which was the first time -- and I still haven't beaten it lol. Yeah, that was messed up. Whenever the machine was going up, the lady was like,
Aim for the head -- that must be its weakness
! But it was so pitch dark I didn't even know where the head was. So I just wasted my
missile launcher
. That seemed to do the trick. :p

yea head/mouth/heart always seems to be an enemies weak spot.

hey guys what do you think of this?

ResidentEvil-TheUmbrellaChroniclesW.jpg

sorry for not much, but I couldn't find more high res images of the characters nor did I want to use ingame screenshots, magazine scans or other low res images for it. I wanted to add Wesker in the background, showing mostly his face(glasses).

but oh well.

Great work, I 'm digging RE Umbrella right now. It is kinda hard; so I had to download a game save so that I have all the weapons with unlimited ammo. I LLLLLOOOOVVVVEEEEE Killing zombies !
i made it at 1680x1050 but photobucket reduced the size to 1024x768.
Even on easy this shit is hard. I just want to kill shit, not aim at tiny circular fucking mouths. fuck it.
I take it you have trouble with Marcus' final form huh? Yea it's a real bitch.

Holy shit, just completed Dark Legacy 1. Holy fucking shitttt that boss fight was hard. And I did it on Easy. I did all the other levels so far on Normal. I'm just glad I did it. But now I need to pass Racoon's Destruction 3 with an A for the next level I need. Ugh. I think I should wait till I get someone to play that with me, it should be easier that way.

I think you still have to do Ada's mission to unlock Dark Legacy 2...so yea you better go back and do better in the RE scenario.

So how is the Fall of Umbrella storyline unlocked? I've beaten all the story missions so far, and some of the side missions, but no Chris and Jill in Russia. What gives?

oh boy...

scroll back a few posts and you will see what you need to do...

You need to get an A in most of the scenarios. Espicailly in RE3.

Sorry, it just can't be avoided. But if you saved enough stars, you can upgrade your guns and it becomes a bit easier this time around.

This is bullshit for Fall of Umbrella. I was getting almost all Cs and Bs and was able to unlock Fall of Umbrella just fine by doing all the missions that were available to me.

well excuse me..........
maybe I was thinking of Death's Door or Dark Legacy because DL falls under the FoU Scenario. Still bullshit that you have to go back and unlock another earlier mission, beat it and then be able to unlock the second part of DL.

Beginnings 1 Beat Train Derailment 3
Beginnings 2 Beat Beginnings 1 with an A rank or higher
Dark Legacy 1 Complete Fall Of Umbrella 3
Dark Legacy 2 Complete Death's Door and Nightmare 2
Death's Door Beat Raccoon's Destruction 3 with an A rank
Fourth Survivor Complete Dark Legacy 2
Nightmare 1 Complete Mansion Incident 1
Nightmare 2 Beat Nightmare 1 with an A rank or higher
Rebirth 1 Beat Mansion Incident 3
Rebirth 2 Beat Rebirth 1
The 4th Survivor Beat Dark Legacy 2

Was only hard because they had SO MUCH HP.
Was only hard because they had SO MUCH HP.
Pretty much. I had to restart a couple times solely because I didn't have enough good ammo to beat them. I had to go through the rest of the level just using the handgun for the most part.

I have to ask... when you guys are claiming it's hard, what difficulty are you playing on?

I played through the whole game on Normal, and generally got A's and B's, but I also never came close to finding it hard at any point.

Even the few levels I played on Hard weren't that difficult.

Are you guys not upgrading weapons, bad at aiming, using all of your good guns on lesser enemies, what?

I just can normally understand the discrepancy in skill levels, but I truly just don't get it with this game. I simply at no point found it to be overly difficult in any way.

And, for reference, I'm truly, honestly, not trying to be the smug 'OMGZERS I'm soooo much better than you guys' guy. I'm simply genuinely curious.

I know I suck cock at aiming. And I haven't upgraded any weapons because I'm lazy. But I'm still not having a very hard time. Sometimes it gets tricky, but that's only because my hand-eye coordination sucks ass.

I've played the game on Medium all the way thru..

I think Marcus' final form during the ride up the shaft and the final area with the sun light were big pains in the asses. The Ivan brothers fight was a bit insane. However once I beat it and redid the mission using the MRL on them, then it's not as hard... They still take a beating but at least I don't...til I run out of bullets :(

I would need to complete the entire game on S rank to get unlimited rounds... so basically get a S on critical shots, destroy everything I see to get an S, GET ALL THE DAMN FILES (which I usually miss 1 or 2), and make sure every, and I mean everything that is killable dies, even when my camera turns around.

argh CAPCOM.... I know this game has a replay value, but your requirements are too fucking high..

you pussy.... can't take a few zombies down with the default hand gun huh? Even capcom knew you were going to run out of bullets in the levels...that's why they gave us a default unlimited handgun to begin with.

But but but... I feel bad for the zombies and so I shoot my first clip screaming at the roof of the train, and I can't help but not reload. And when I don't reload, they start chewing on my tender, moisturized skin, and so I keep seeing the 'You Are Dead" screen and it makes the game not fun.

I guess it's like Point Break...

At least now I can say I beat Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

action replay for the win huh?
That costs too much. All I need is a SD card and this web link.

whoa whoa ....what?!?!?! no way!

But to be honest, is the rest of the stuff worth unlocking after you get the guns powered up?

The files are meh, the extra's items are not usable in game (believe me you don't know how excited I was when I learned I got the c4 pack, I think, only to find out it wasn't a usable in game item....fuck you capcom).

Wish there was extra customs or even a movie viewer...now that would have been very nice...

Finally got around to playing this game. I tried out the first two chapters and it's really fun. But its being put on hold until Metroid is finished. A couple of questions that I asked earlier in the thread that I'll address now.

The pointer feels just as laggy as the one in Zelda. There is also some imprecision in the aim when doing small movements. This is from implementation of steady aiming, where very slight movements (like trembling hands) will not effect the cursor. I can keep my own hands steady thanks. The difference is noticable when playing this game and Ghost Squad at the same time.

Also, unlike a lot of people, I like using the Zapper for this game. Probably because I played though both Link's CBT and Ghost Squad prior to this game. I find it pretty comfortable (I use the zapper with nunchuck in). and have no problems with knifing or reloading. Though I do wish I had the option of shaking the wiimote in zapper mode instead. And since the cursor is forced upon us, I can hold the gun much lower since I don't have to aim down the barrel.

I really look forward to the rest of this game, and moreso with a friend.

EDIT: I think I'm ok with no calibration in this game. Unless they increased the size of critical points, it would be rediculously difficult to aim for them without a cursor.

Has anyone figured out how to get MORE ammo reserves to be used in other missions? I have fully upgraded all 3 machine guns and they report 1000 ammo, 100 capacity, yet I average around 120-153 rounds each.... what gives?

I would imagine you would accomplish this by collecting ammo in the missions and not using it. I had 1500 rounds for the sub-machine gun at one point.

No way I am using the default gun on Hunk or Ada's Mission. They are mega too hard to do using a standard pistol.

hmm, what's an extremely easy mission which I can kill almost anything with the handgun and not be over run by zombies.

I meant the main story missions. The first mansion incident mission isn't too bad, until you get to the snake, of course.

your right!

I went back and did the train mission 1.

manage to save my rounds for the final boss. is it me or is the very first mission, all the zombies are extremely week and like 1 or 2 shots and they are dead? Anyways racked up about 400 rounds and used that in mission 2, except I wasted too much on the bat and those damned monkeys, and leechmen so I went down to 224 :(

My theory is that I can replay the level over and over and stockpile rounds like crazy (or to it's max).

I did get an S rank on that mission :)

Yeah, when I went back and played the first train mission again, I noticed that it was a hell of a lot easier to get head shots on the zombies.

well tested out my theory. Basically if you fuck up, the game WILL keep your HIGHEST rank/score. I redid the train mission 1 again but I took too much time since I saved my machine gun ammo and used the hand gun instead. Went down to an A from an S, but the game kept me at an S rank :)

Had about 800 bullets stored....redid hunks mission... by the time I finished the mission I went down to 200 bullets :( and of course I got a "B" AGAIN :( argh The good news is that I finally got the last freaking gun (Barry's hand cannon).. so now I got all the guns! Strange, why would Barry's gun be in the RE3 police station instead of RE1's mansion?!?!?! You would think his gun would be in the mansion since he is featured in RE1 right?

oh well... I will try again later this week.

has anyone ordered the soundtrack? it should be out now over at play-asia. Picked this up plus the soundtrack to the Dracula X Chronicals.
