Resistance 2 - Out Now - Get your co-op on!
Link? The last time I heard them talking about the beta, they hadn't picked a date yet.
You must be right. Did a quick search and couldn't find where I read that. If it starts on the 17th Ill take the credit though

To let everyone know, I decided either I will take on Resistance 2 night (for Saturday) or Frisky will. That means handle clan management and game nights. I feel one of us two would be best for it.

I'm definitely excited about about to preorder this.

ok everyone i just received my email with the resistance 2 beta on it no lie, after not receiving my email with beta i went to PlayStation website and wrote an email to the online ppl saying i never received my code, they wrote back saying i will be contacted witnin 48hrs and i just cheaked me email and wouldnt u know that Bam i got the beta code now i cant wait to download it but guess what the playstation store is going under maintiness so i have to wait to download it :( but im still glad i have it. if u dont believe me then whatever cause i really have it. im going to post a video on youtube as soon as i can download it:applause:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!:applause:

RRay, I think what you got was just the sign up code, the thing you put into register.myresistance.net which puts you on the list to get the download code.

On the official forums there is mention of no one, not a single one, saying they have downloaded the beta.

When was this decision made? :whistle2:s

I believe a showdown is in order to determine top dog ;)

Actually Shini, earlier in the thread I said you'd get first shot, but since I haven't heard from ya, I wasn't too sure what to do. In reality, you do get first shot since I'm already busy with too many game nights anyway. ;)

I haven't seen you around as much lately so I wasn't sure what was going on, but I'd love for ya to lead. :D

Awesome, I must have missed that part since I stopped reading the thread for a bit, but I'm down to lead.

I can't wait for this game! It blows they didn't choose me as one of the QA testers since I live right down the street from them :/

Rray, okay I believe you. You're lucky, when the servers go live you'll be able to jump right into the game, the rest of us will have to wait for the download to finish.

Looks like the beta is really, really close. Likely they'll release it alongside the PSN Store update.

The beta download codes are going out via email right now, some people are getting them before others, not sure in what order they're sending them.

I got my beta key!

preordered from gs.com, got the code a couple weeks ago, entered it in on the site like SOCOM, then today got the emial voucher from PSU, entered it in on the redeem code in XMB and d/l now. Whopping 2211MB! I got a quick errand I can run while I wait. yipee

Just got back from GS with my code, and when I entered it on the Resistance site it automatically generated me a code then and there. No waiting for an e-mail. Hopefully the beta runs as smooth

So you've got to pre-order to get the beta code? I thought there was a public beta they opened up a few weeks ago so we could sign up that way. If you've got to pre-order, I'm headed to GS right now to get in. I don't want to miss out like I did with COD4.

I don't know why my name's in the ring since I haven't mentioned wanting to be the clan leader. I'm not interested in taking the role nor would I have the time to do it justice, so somebody else with some experience with Resistance online should have the job over me.

Ok. Got my beta code but now the PS site is down for maintenance. I can enter the code in on my PS3 when I get home but I'd prefer to use my computer to do it. Oh well. When's the beta opening?

Same thing. Entered the gs code and got instant redeemable code on-screen.

So far, deathmatching has not impressed me, not that it's bad but nothing new brought to the table thus far. I will be trying co-op online w/ my bro sometime and I thnk that should be better I hope. Wish there was a better/smoother animation for L1 zoom too. hah anyway I play more and make a final judgment after that.

Yeah I enjoyed the Co-op, the TDM and DM seemed pretty basic. Couldn't get into a 60 player skirmish match. Did find a 30 on 30 TDM that was pretty fun though

Sweet! got mine! I'll be playing in an hour when it's done downloading and i get back from the gym. Add me if you wanna play online!
Hey guys, is the beta code shareable?
Nope.

Still don't have my email, and the site says the code was redeemed already. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.

The co op is crazy in this game. Its more like a beat em up than a shooter. Theres you and a couple of guys and your stacked up against a crazy amount of enemies all small, medium, or large. Its set up exactly like a beat em up.

My download is taking forever. I guess it's a big download but I'd like to play some time tonight... Oh well, I'm playing the first one (again-ish) since I never finished it so that'll keep me occupied for a while.
i am in the same boat primetime :x
Hmm I knew this would probably happen to me. Sounds like I just should've waited and entered the code when the beta went live, but I still don't know why the redeemable code wasn't just on the Gamestop card.

Well, I emailed Insomniac, but that's probably gonna do me a load of no good.

I had the exact same feeling. Took me back in time

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/10/16/resistance-2-beta-begins-today/

 • Today, October 16th, the public beta for Resistance 2 will begin in North America. The beta will offer gamers a glimpse at Resistance 2’s online competitive and co-op modes ahead of the game’s launch on November 4th. We will be admitting players in two waves: a Premiere wave which includes those that pre-ordered at GameStop, individuals who subscribed to QORE for one year and/or bought the episode featuring Resistance 2 and a recent contest from GamePro.com. Those of you in the Premiere wave should be receiving an email with a registration code between now and tomorrow afternoon. A second wave is starting in the middle of next week, and you apply to be a part of it by going to beta.myresistance.net once the site goes live (later tonight). For those of you across the pond in Europe, the public beta will also begin next week.
 • The Beta will include competitive maps from three locations in the game. These maps include 60-, 40-, and 20-player maps from Orick, 40- and 20-player maps from Chicago, and the 10-Player map Sub Docks (Bay Area). New modes Skirmish and Core control will be supported, along with Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. The co-op portion of the beta will focused on Orick, and will support randomization of your play-path. Both co-op and competitive will support matchmaking and class/character progression up to level 10. This will allow unlocking of new equipment, upgrades and berserks for character customization.
 • Speaking of beta.myresistance.net, the beta version of our new community site goes live tonight as well. Customizable leader boards/user profiles, individual blogs and ‘ticker’ that provides players with up to minute information of happenings on the site are just some of the features the beta site has to offer. Leading into the November 4th North American launch of the game (and the months to follow), we’ll be adding several more features that will make MyResistance.net the destination for all Resistance fans.
 • And, finally, Resistance 2 has gone gold. As a special treat, the below image gives all of you PlayStation Blog readers an idea on just how big just the online coop campaign mode is

Info on the beta for those not currently in it.

And damn those of you that are in it.
if anyone would like to play co op as an actual team add me plz. My psn name is genfuyung
I'll do that later today.

Does anyone else get like half the screen cut off when playing with a friend locally? 1 player is all fullscreen but when I start up a game with 2 people I get the dreaded black bars on the side. Any Ideas?

I must say that the CO-OP ROCKS TO THE MAX! Just the one level me and Smiggity played last night was like 30-50 mins. long, played with maybe 5-6 people total, it was just a blast. It was very satisfying to see the xp while killing/healing foes and friends in the game.

It also game me a chance to test out my new SOCOM headset and I must say EVERY PS3 owner should own one.

Anywho, back to the game. It gave me that gotta keep leveling, grinding, feeling from something like Baldur's gate or Champions of Norrath, any MMO(hell, even COD 4). I might have to hold off getting a new hard drive for my PS3 and add this to my X-mas list.

I hope to spend some more time trying out the deathmatch modes and the splitscreen(offline) stuff as well.

Man, Im still code-less even though I signed up for this at myresistance.net AND pre ordered from GS.
