Revolution Conspiracy Theroies... THE PLOT THICKENS
Look guys... regardless of truth... its sparked my imagination... and thats worth a couple hours of wasted time. The Nintendo On may never EVER come to light, but it made me excited about Nintendo... and the fact that we can even THINK that Nintendo could release something like this doesn't mean we are gullible... it just means that Nintendo is the only videogame copmany willing to take a risk like that. It was fun just trying to match everything together... who knows if we will ever find the truth out... but even if we don't, we have seen the new Nintendo system.

We now have a clearer (although STILL prtty blurry) picture of what Nintendo is doing with the Revolution. Its going to be cheap, its goign to be more powerful, its going to be online, its going to be a GREAT Nintendo system with GREAT Nintendo games. Thats all there is to it. Again, its been fun... enjoy the rest of E3 and for sakes... check out the videos for the new AMAZING DS/GBA/GCN games. This is truly a great time to be a Nintendo fan.
Exactly. I had fun with this. I still wouldn't doubt that something comes up, but I am happy if nothing happens. Isn't that what videogames are about? Fun? I'm going to relax and just wait. Like I said, I'm not going to say it's over until it's over. And we really don't know when that will be. It's Nintendo. They only follow one set of rules - theirs.

Winner! That summed my feelings up quite nicely. Yay Nintendo!

You people are freaks.

Grow up. Nintendo never shows anything and they already should the system, grow up people and move on.

How about we still talk about M3G@T0N!!!!
it used to direct people to the page that had a link to the mp3 and other info...now it just says "Faith" and that row of numbers.
Holy crap. This is starting to look real complicated. If it really is some sort of viral ad campaign, then it's the most elaborate I've ever seen.

Someone get to work on that number! I'm already fiddling with it.

Is it a site counter?
Is it a site counter?
Uh, you mean a hit counter? I somewhat doubt that that site has gotten 428,843,112 hits. Plus, it's not changing.

Wasn't the number in the On video 500,000,000? Someone do some subtraction or something.

Someone get to work on that number! I'm already fiddling with it.

well, it's not a phone number..tried calling and it didn't go through. but my phone is low on batteries right now, maybe someone else could try calling it.

Edit: nevermind, noticed that I added another 3 before the 112...so it wasn't meant to be a number in the first place, heh.
I'm not getting anything at that site. It's just a black page for me.
Is your contrast turned way down? Try dragging a selection across the middle of the screen. There is text there.
This number makes shit sense...its there to screw with us
512000000 didn't make sense at first, but with some tweaking, it lead us to May 19....

You know, I've read through this thread, and I somehow get the idea that some of you believe the crap in that Nintendo On video.

Am I wrong here?

Uh, does it seem really blatantly obvious that this site was just set up by some Nintendo fan, and that those URL's aren't even registered to Nintendo? WHOIS shows it's registered to someone in Australia.

I love the fact that any marginally plausible rumor's enough to send a bunch of Nintendo fanboys into a frenzy, when a *moment* of even remotely critical thought would show this is all nonsense.

That is the same number in the Nintendo On video before it gets to 512,000,000. Except that it is backwards. (211,348,824)

Anyone open the links??

Its either
A: Nintendo doing a neat viral advertising campaign
or
B: a prank, which in its own weird way is keeping at least a few peopls minds off of MS and Sony, thus helping Nintendo

either way its kinda fun looking for stuff

Um, what are you talking about? www.smashbrothersonline.com is registered to a Joshua Yonah of Glensdale, Arizona, as is www.supersmashbros3.com, which is a mirror of the same site.

And for your information, www.iloveknees.com, and the other ilovebees.com parodies that Nintendo set up, aren't explicitly registered to Nintendo. Nor is ilovebees.com explicitly registered to Microsoft, or 42 Entertainment, the advertising firm that ran the site. They're registered to individuals in Aliso Viejo and San Francisco, California, respectively.

For all we know, the owner of smashbrothersonline.com, which is a real fansite that has been running since 2002, could have been offered a big sum by Nintendo to let them use his domain as part of the N-game and keep quiet about it.
As fun as it's been playing along, I would still like an explanation.
I was poking through the smashbrosonline site and they're claiming it as the opening theme for Smash Bros. 3.

Well in either case, the site is not too sophisticated:

OK, I know I'm probably getting a bit out there, but I've got some more idle theories.

Remember, a couple months ago, when the "Nintendo 21" thing hit? For those that didn't hear about it, a Japanese fellow claimed that he had looked at secret documents that were en route to a Nintendo of Japan shareholder meeting (I think). He described, and provided a scrawled drawing of what he saw in the documents drawn from memory, a device called the Nintendo 21, theoretically named after the 21st (American) anniversary of the NES. It has since been disproved, by what we have seen so far at E3, but I've got an odd little idea in the back of my head regarding it.

Imagine that, perhaps, the entire 21 "leak" was a big, and very early, plant by Nintendo. That could be possible, right? Make a note of the number 21. Now let's look at the number 512000000, the number from the On video (which itself could have theoretically been a very elaborate plant). With a little division and addition, people were able to make this number point to May 19, a day which, it seems, has yielded little info. But maybe that division wasn't necessary.

Turn 512000000 around, and you get 000000215. Toss the zeros, and you're left 215. Add a slash, and you get 21/5, aka, May 21. And if you'd believe that, then you could imagine that the whole "Nintendo 21" business was also a very early plant hinting at this date.

There ya go. Two instances, both of which could have plants, of things that could be seen to be pointing at May 21, the first day following E3. Could it be that Nintendo is planning something too grand for even E3, and intends to blow the lid on Saturday?

Now please, don't waste time telling me I'm a fanboy living in a fantasy world, because really, I'm just going off on tangents, presenting every idea even remotely possible. I'm not actually expecting this to be true, but I will say that I still think anything is a possibility.
Well in either case, the site is not too sophisticated:
I'm not trying to defend the site as being evidence or anything, but if it is a plant, then perhaps Nintendo is using such simple construction to further throw us off their trail.
I read through all the posts... are you guys saying that the console they unveiled is fake?
Possibly? More likely I think it would be a more optimized, more powerful, smaller, quieter, more energy efficient GCN with a Revolution still to be unveiled.
I read through all the posts... are you guys saying that the console they unveiled is fake?
Not necessarily...I think that would be a but much, even for Nintendo...but I think it's obvious that we certainly haven't heard the entire story, not by a long shot. That lovely little black box is just a piece of the story.

I also wouldn't be suprised if certain details that we have heard turn out to be fake info, intended to throw us off guard.

I think that would be a fun way to market the console... Nintendo's press conference was merely ok, but it was way more interesting thatn Sony's. This whole right brain thing Reggies was rambling about did seem very suspicious and made me think of that "fake" movie.

It always makes me smil when Miyamoto talks about a game or shows up to talk about something, you can tell that the man loves video games.

I'm interested in all of the new consoles, but seriously, I'd prefer sturdier builds of the currents systems with more creative/fun games.

Even as a hardcore Nintendo fan, I'm giving up. Today came and went, and no matter how many numbers you flip upside down, multiply, and raise to the third power, Nintendo didn't reveal anything else. I know all of the details haven't been revealed yet, but I doubt we'll hear anything else until 2006.

Some "Revolution"...

Here's the thing for me...i dont care about x360 or ps3. Nothing interests me so far game wise except for Heavenly Sword. Killzone can look amazing, but if its the same people making it it will play like ass. X360....slight upgrade...yet again, nothing special.

Revoulution so far has a huge backlog of hits, free online gaming, and mystery. It also doesnt come out for another year at least. I dont see any reason for Nintendo to do more than they already have this year. If this is all a hoax, dont get pissed at the company that didnt start it

Precisely.

Actually, whether or not anything happens in the near future, they will talk this year, which means before 360 (why would they do it after?). It's official. Perrin specifically and explicitly stated so. Will it be at SpaceWorld or just a huge press conference? It depends on if everyone has enough energy to put on a SpaceWorld. But something will happen in order to deflate 360. Logically, that is the best choice anyway. The only thing that happened by them not showing it on Tuesday is to upset many an impatient, angsty person. But it does not help to know now. By the time 360 released, everyone would have let the memories slide and buy a 360 (which is bad if they can only afford one system). But if they wait for three to four weeks before 360 launches, no one would be quite as excited for 360. Even M$ fanboys would be left saying, "Look at what I am stuck buying." But you never know how much sooner we might hear something. But we do know it won't be after 360 launches.

I think its NUTS that this thread is getting as big as its getting its a testament to the loyalty... or psychosis or Nintendo fans. And this thing was essentially debunked 10 hours ago. I mean I appreciate the tenacity guys... but this thread is kinda turning into the "crazy Nintendo fanatic" thread. We're grasping at nothing here. If something else legit comes up... fine... but lets not get crazy here.

May I suggest that the conversation turn from the past to the future. If not now... when? when will the Revolution be shown? Spaceworld? Xbox 360 launch (or is that saved for Zelda)? E3 2006? Or some random day?

Also to discuss... Aries got it wrong... nothing was shown today. Is he still credible? Are his supposed features still legit? Whats the consensus? I think I agree with Matt from IGN on this one... they guy is a fake... a damn good one with some excellent ideas... but a fake. Then again... who knows.

Both loyalty and psychosis. But I see nothing wrong with that. I also think there is no happier gamer than the devout Nintendo fan.
