Rewarding Achievements - Confirmed!

I thought they'd have something up early this morning.

Oh well. I guess I'll just leave the tab open and check when I come back from classes.
Yea I was just over at xbox.com and no sign up just yet. It's 4:24 on the 12th so I thought I'd check before Id hit the hay. I unplugged my 360 on friday and beat GRAW and got to a few other games I haven't been able to play so hopefully when I sign up and I hook into live, I'll have like a sudden increase of achievements, chaching! I was kinda hoping they'd let us exchange our AP for MP ^^
The achievements are still dated though...

How about instead of continuously posting negatives the first person to notice a change posts that instead. It's counter-productive to to keep bumping a thread with a lack of news since we all look at it it wastes everyone's time.

How about no Damian? Everyone keep posting anything. I get excited when I see a new post, then let down when it's not saying that the sign up's are up. Then excited yet again when I see another post. :)
About 70,000 gamers will score the other prizes.
Damn.
No it's not up yet, but according to this everyone who reaches the 1500 goal will be eligible for the GPs and themes. About 70,000 gamers will score the other prizes.
Interesting that the XBLA game doesn't qualify as a "digital" prize (and hence not unlimited) despite being, well, purely digital.

I wonder how many people in the US have Gamerscores over 10'000, I guess MS must already know.

According to MyGamerCard.net I'm ranked 149** in the US, so I'm guessing maybe 30'000-40'000 people have scores 10'000+.
The achievements are still dated though...
Damn, I had everything planned though. I didn't know that. I just read that link, first come first serve on the prizes. Well I don't have the time to race with hardcore, non-working, non-student(college) gamers. I doubt the gamerpics and themes will go fast but maybe the higher up prizes.

mygamercard.net only tracks people that signed up. There could be 500,000 people with 10k gamerscore or even a million, we would never know. BUT definitely the hardcore gamers are the ones that signed up and keep track of these things, so I think winning is a distinct possibility.

That being said I looked up your tag and it says you are ranked 26,529, not 149**.
the site says after the 12th. the contest might start tommorrow. either way, i'm renting madden 06, fight night and cars.
Nope Nope the site clearly says,

"On February 12, visit www.xbox.com/rewards for more information and be one of the first to register for Xbox Rewards and the Old Spice Experience Challenge. "

Actually 26529 is my World rank, my rank in the US is 149**, which is what I said in my post. I specifically mentioned my US rank as this contest is only open to the US. Devil is in the details my friend.

Also I never signed up to MyGamerCard specifically, so I wondered if maybe it tracked everyone on Xbox Live, probably not though.

Hmm. I missed that. :)

You didn't sign up? Very odd, I was sure they only tracked people in their database.

No, they're part of the Xbox Community Developer Program so they have access to a lot of Live data right from MS.

Managed to break 10k last night...now waiting at work to sign up and get home to knock the 1500 out.

damnit, I didn't put enough time into raising my Gamerscore this weekend and now I'm stuck at about 9500. If I don't sign up today can I raise my score and sign up tommorrow?

This is confusing.... the site says "Check back after February 12 for official terms and conditions."

But it says "On February 12, visit www.xbox.com/rewards for more information and be one of the first to register for Xbox Rewards and the Old Spice Experience Challenge."

So they won't have the rules up at the same time as the registration page is up?

People with vision camera:

QUICK 20 POINTS.
Setup totemball, calibrate camera and after the level begins turn the cam away from the screen (face it at a blank wall). Leave it and after twenty minutes you will have gotten the "Fit Player" achievement!

Anyone else have any quick and easy ones like this?
Is Cars easy? How many hours?
Yeah, it's easy. Probably 5-6 hours for most of the achievements.

I have yet to play King Kong, so I'm hoping I'll be able to rent that either today or tomorrow. I hear it's rather easy to earn the whole 1000 in a couple hours.

yeah with the camera specifically. Rainbow 6: Vegas. Scan your face and map it onto a character. 30pts.

Dead Rising has a couple timed ones, Outdoorsman & Indoorsman. Start game and leave Frank on the roof. Come back in a couple of hours and you should have gotten the Outdoorsman (20pts) move him inside and do the same, nab indoorsman(20pts). These only work with the wired controller since the wireless shuts itself off if you aren't moving it.

About 8-9 hours for all 1000 points. Pretty straight forward, but if you have a Gamefaq, you shoudl be able to bust through it in 8. I think its actually kind of fun, especially the King Kong levels (as opposed to the Jack Driscoll FPS levels).

Also try all the EA and 2K sports games. Easy points, particularly for Madden 06.
I'm starting to get the feeling that this won't be up at all today. Knowing MS, it will be like Street Fighter on XBLA all over again...
Yep MS Dropped the ball on this one.

It's strange at one point they say visit after 2/12 and during another it says be here on 2/12. Which is it? Pretty sad when u screw up a promotion.

Jesus people, why the hell is there all this bitching about some free promotion Microsoft is doing? It's a promotion! They owe you nothing! I understand the excitement, but don't crap on people giving stuff away for free because they aren't doing it exactly how you want them to.

I don't know that anybody is crapping on them. I just wish they hadn't given us a time to come back and then when we get there there isn't anything.

Who the hell is this guy?

It's also not how we want them to it's how they should have done it since they did say the 12th. There's 8 Hours left in the day so I could be anytime now. But MS is usually on time with certain releases.

Actually, they do "owe" us something. Sure, they're under no obligation to give anything away, but if they do decide to then make a big deal out of it and then don't, you can see why people would be annoyed. They do have an obligation to uphold their word, especially when people might rely on that word to take certain actions. Not a legal obligation, certainly, but enough so that people can feel justifed at being put out by relying on them.

...and it's still the 12th as far as I can tell. Bitch all you want if they don't deliver today. But at least realize that you all have just jumped the gun with your expectations.

I don't know, man. I think that if someone tells you to come back on the 12th to sign up for something, it's reasonable to expect them to be ready for you by 3 in the afternoon.

I haven't bitched about anything yet. I was just pointing out the fallacy of the "it's free so you can't complain" argument.

My only problem with this is they never delivered on their promise to give out free Memory cards and other prizes late last year. They sort of have a history of not delivering. I think they'll do it this time, but if they don't I really wouldn't be surprised.

I wish they'd put it up before I have to leave the house. I'll probably sign up late as shit (like I had to with the Future Weapons marketplace points they gave out) and not get anything.

If you're not able to get Fuzion Frenzy 2, due to limited quantities, they should give you a shirt that says:

I got 10,000+ Achievement Points and all I got was this Old Spice shirt.
