Rhapsody & Persona 2, factory sealed in stock, www.gamequestdirect.com

I purchased RE2 and RE3 Gamecube from this site and poker chips... stuff arrived on time, but the prices for shipping suck. I consider this site reliable, though. They seem to come through with titles we haven't seen in stores in ages.... still holding out hope for Rez.
You guys are acting like someone held a gun to your head and said

"Buy these two games or ill kill you!"

Its still new, regardless of the sticker that isnt there once you open it. If anything it serves you right for trying to take all the copies when there are plenty of CAGs who wanted to get the game....get this....TO PLAY!!

Get quick rich schemes dont always work, if they did then we would all be rich and money would have no value.

You wont find sympathy from me, go to fat wallet with that because this was a great deal for gamers.
dude you should of been here, i wasnt going to buy either until my Hamster pulled out a knife and said " buy them or i cut you" I had no choice and i had to buy : )

I got mine today too. Both look identical to the original release to me (except for the sticker). So as far as I'm concerned I happy with getting two new copies of games I missed for a somewhat normal price. (even if it is an older system). As far as it not having the sticker I don't care, I'm going to open them and PLAY them anyway. I give thanks to the OP, and keep posting if more of these re-releases happen.

It's not this deal but just talking about Persona 2, I found it used in mint condition. Played it for a couple of hours and it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Was just curious if any of you others that have just bought it and have never played it before felt the same way?

I really really wanted to like it, but didn't.

i was playing persona 2 and i really liked it, the story was really good. But it didn't put too much of an emphasis on battling in my opinion. So I was terribly underleveled when i got to a boss and just didn't have the time to sit there and level up so i stopped playing. I may pick it up again when i get less frustrated haha

I got an email from gamequest about my damaged Persona 2. They claim that they sent out 500 orders for the games but only 1 or 2 were damaged. They said I need to file a claim with UPS. How will this help me get another game? I don't feel comfortable making UPS pay for a game that was packaged so shoddily by the company. I mean there was literally only about 20 peanuts in there. Any suggestions? I'm already never going to deal with the company again.

It's a great time to be a cheap ass gamer.

Mine was shipped in a...not so good...box too but it's all about how the "upps" man handles it. If they handle it like they SHOULD no damage should have come to the box. Technically it was UPS's fault.

Ok I admit the sticker wasn't a factor since I was gonna open them anyways (and I did and they were in perfect condition). But still there is no way I would pay $50 for new games like that if they weren't rare, which they no longer are in my opinion.

Well, I ordered Persona 2 a week ago and it was supposed to arrive today, but didn't. I've wanted to play the game for a while now, so this sucks. I've suspected it wouldn't arrive since the tracking information hasn't updated since the day I placed the order. I guess I'll just cancel the order altogether since I don't feel like getting Gamequest to re-ship the order and waiting another week to see if it actually comes this time. I'll probably be better off taking my chances ordering a used copy if I happen to see one show up on Gamestop's website...

*scratches head* just wondering, but did anyone get the bonus disc with Persona 2? it mentions it on the back cover (non-interactive bonus disc...), but it also lists it as 1 disc.

I saw Persona 2 on Gamestop's site last night. Not sure if it's still on there...

At least they are getting 40 each on ebay. Im stuck with 1 of each game cause they wont take back i guess. I emailed them 5 times and never heard how to return
how many disc does Rhapsody have 1 or 2 + Soundtrack
1 disc plus a soundtrack disc

The rhapsody came with an extra disc, it was the soundtrack.

Persona 2 comes with a bonus disc?!?! What is it? Soundtrack?

When I got both of the games, the front case on both were cracked. Instead of returning them and getting nailed with a $15.00 restocking fee and not getting them replaced, i went down to toys r us and bought legend of dragoon for $7.50 (green tagged at 14.99). and I switched the front cover of it with the broken rhapsody case, and used the back part of the case for the persona. tomorrow im gonna go trade legend of dragoon in at gamestop. ill probably get 3-4 bucks. so i paid an extra 3 bucks. but the peace of mind is definitely worth it.

For those that are worried about the value of the game instead of playing it, seriously, it will almost certainly go up, and you will thanking yourselves for buying it. Oh yeah, and mine came in the cruddy packaging too, but everything was in good condition. Oh well, no harm, no foul, but I might think twice about ordering expensive hard plastic case or cardboard boxed games from them in the future.

i be happy to keep them and sell them at a lost in a few months/years as long as that lost stays under 30 each (meaning i can get at least 20 each for them)

dont pm me now cause im not selling now

If that was a non-GH and you haven't taken it to GS yet- save the manual! I need one!

I received my package and all games were mint.
I am 3 hours into Rhapsody and I love it.

IMPORTANT QUESTION:

I have 2 copies of PERSONA 2:

-copy 1 in factory sealed original (not reprint) but the jewel case is slightly cracked
-copy 2 in the reprint copy but MINT.

Which one should I play and which one should I save?

Thanks and woot woot

I already brought it back! sorry. It was a GH's version tho. I got $3.00 for it so I spent an extra $4.50 to fix two cases. not bad

if your looking at selling on ebay most people dont even know about stickers so i dont think it matters. Also look at Xenogears That first print Crashed hard once the GH came out so i dont think it matters

Well, I just dodged a bullet. I didn't find out about the sale until it was OOS so I resorted to buying on Ebay. Right after ordering the seller became "no longer a registered user". Fortunatelly the line of communications with the seller stayed open and I received both R and P a couple days later. I was starting to sweat it a bit!

Does anyone here have problems with the game? Everything in the game is fine, but when I fight in a random battle sometimes I get like a 4 second delay. All I see is a blank screen just playing the music.
fatbeer, are you running it with PS2's PS1 improvement features turned on?
whats that :p

No,I just play the game in default setting. My ps2 system could play fine with other ps1 rpgs like persona 1,tales of destiny, brigandine, vandal hearts, lunar and hoshigama.

anyone having problems with this company. One of my game cases came cracked and i emailed them a few times last week and they havent Emailed me back yet. Anyone know what i should do if i dont hear from them. Im guessing if i dont hear back from them by the end of the month call up the credit card company??

to be honest I could fudge about a broken game case as those can be easily replaced if it's to a game I plan to open. I can see in away why they would not respond as it's a little matter to them.

And tell them what? I don't think the CC company is going to refund your money or block the payment because you have a crack in your game case. It does suck that you got a cracked case though.

Seriously, it's a cracked case get over it. At least it's not as bad as people complaining about tears in their shrinkwrap. It's shrinkwrap people not diamond coating

This thread is much too big to be sitting in the Deals forum, so it's moved over here. 90% of the recent posts have been post-purchase issues/questions/whining/bitching/whatever, so it belongs here.

Rhapsody is OOS, Persona appears to still be in stock, with 34 copies available at the time of this post.

And here is where this thread will stay.

the company selling the item refuses to even email me back about it. and if i open it to see if the game is broken they will refuse to take it back since i opened it. and if i keep it sealed and open it in a few months and its broke im screw

so im screwed anyway you go

If you need immediate response, CALL THEM!

Also, it was probably not cracked when they sent it, so it was probably shipping company's fault. I doubt Gamequest will fix something they had no control over.

I think the insurance is for the shipper only. The shipper has to fill out a claim and UPS will mail them a check in due time. I have never heard of this happening for the buyer.

I just got Rhapsody on Ebay for about 50.50 after shipping. They said it was brand new factory sealed and it does appear to be the normal PS1 Factory sealing method. But there is no white cd sticker on the top like most PS1 games anyone else lack this on there copy? Sorry I didn't feel like sorting through 47 pages to see.

This is the exact copy that we all got here. It's a reprint and they don't have the PS1 seal on the top. They are the same games, with the exeption of the seal. Luckily, I sold all of mine for $70 each before the mass of people threw them on there.

I got Persona 2 with a huge crack in it. I got 2 replies back from game quest and they said that I had to sit around and wait for UPS to come pick it up. They will send another copy when they receive it. I'm not taking that chance. I took another CAG's advice on this thread and bought a cheap PS2 game with the same style jewel case. I took out the back and replaced it. Cost a few bucks but it was worth not having to go through all the hassle of shipping.
