Say hello to "The Dragon":

steamboat33hq.jpg

In the spirit of Wrestlemania, this topic is dedicated to one of the participants in the match that many say was not only the greatest in Wrestlemania history, but the greatest in WWF/E history. Hopefully this man is a future Hall of Famer sooner rather than later; either way he'll be forever enshrined with a CAG wrestling topic.

You can revisit Vince by clicking his name.

II got no clue other than it would be completely random

LT, man him and Bam Bam, great stuff. Is it me or does anyone else see the WWE heading back this way soon.

Norman Smiley, Lash LeRoux, 3 Count, MIA, there's many to choose from the random pile.

If we're going that route, then we must include Das Wunderkid Alex Wright. That little dance he had made the women go nuts.

2 Questions:

What was Ricky's finisher? Chop from the top rope?

You just reminded me of Norman Smiley. What did his gimmick end up being? Didn't he like, have the wiggle?

Alex Wright would be awesome. Just thinking about him made me start laughing

also what about the Disco Inferno?

That's an acceptable answer. It's not quite Stevie Ray calling some chump a "fruit booty," but it certainly works for me.

I thought Steamboat's finisher was a top rope splash, but I may be wrong.

myke.

Alex Wrights dancing was hilarious but La Parka will forever hold a special place in my heart... I still play WCW/NWO Revenge just to see his little strut. It never fails to make me laugh

Hah. I loved when he'd stand on top of the folding chair and do that stupid dance.

Bwahahahahaha.

BTW, who is that masked wrestler in the McDonald's commercials that takes his mask off? The dude looks pretty damn mean. Only his face is another mask that reveals that he's wearing yet another mask. So I guess in total, he's wearing at least three masks.

Kind of, the opponent was usually standing for it though.

Alright, a cross-body splash, then.

...my psp just passed customs, have RVD disc 1 in the Xbox, and has decided to start buying PSOne games en masse from EB this week. I also scored Dino Crisis 3 for $13, which is great for me (I hardly see the thing anymore).hoo-ah!

Breaking News: Brock Lesnar Files Lawsuit Against WWE; Locked Out Until 2010
Filed under:

* News

- Henry Walk @ 7:08 pm EST

Former WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar has filed a lawsuit against WWE. Word has it that Lesnar has been hell-bent on getting a lawsuit filed because WWE is allegedly holding him back from making a living due to the “no compete clause” in his WWE contract.

Lesnar signed a new contract after his WrestleMania appearance agreeing to the no compete clause. He decided he no longer wanted to wrestle and wanted to pursue a career in the NFL. While making the preseason squad for the Minnesota Vikings, he was cut before the end of the season.

Now, a no compete clause prevents him from working for any other major competitor, including other professional wrestling organizations or professional fighting promotions such as UFC and PRIDE. That clause does not expire until June 30 in the year 2010. We also learned that the no compete clause covers the world, not just the U.S.

Last week we reported that Lesnar was making ridiculous demands regarding the terms of his return to WWE when he contacted them a couple months ago. The company was fine with letting Lesnar out of his contract because he agreed to the no compete clause.
It appears the Rock is done with WWE. For real. For good.

Thoughts?

myke.
Can't say I blame him, he makes more from 1 movie then he ever did in his WWE career. Doesn't Vince own the name "The Rock?"

Yes, Vince owns the rights to "The Rock" moniker. I don't blame Mr. Johnson one bit for leaving. Why put your body through that if there is something that makes you happier? Although I'll miss the Rock if he doesn't come back, I'll wish him luck on all his future endeavors.

I also hope this ends the BS "sellout" stuff fans used to talk about.

I'd argue that he makes more in one movie...the top WWE guys make too much cash...it's just that the Paul Londons who are foolish enough to fall for making what they do that is sad. Anyway...

I think Rock owns the name now, due to some legal agreement. Good for him, although it makes business sense to own the names they do, they're too fucking greedy sometimes.

myke.

Seems we disagree, Guile. I'm pretty sick today, so I'll let you dig for the truth while I sleep.

So...what was the "sellout" argument? That Rock turned his back on WWE after going hollywood? I'm not sure how him leaving wrestling changes that at all.

I respect his decision to leave the WWE at this point. www.wrestlecrap.com has audio of his segment from the Diva Search (his LAST appearance was the fuckin' diva search???)...he would have rather been anywhere else but there, you can hear it in his voice.

Gotta love the Rock.

myke.

Myke's right, Johnson does own the rights to "The Rock." I heard it in an interview of his.

Ok, looks like the site I got my info from was wrong.

I just got a chance to watch this week's RAW (taped it, and I've been busy). Did you all catch the little surprise picked up by the cameraman during the Tag Title match? Watch the video, and at the point where Regal is outside and suplexes one of the members of La Resistance (Conway, if I'm not mistaken), keep an eye on the referee. You see him dig into his pocket, and drop the mist capsule by Tajiri. They should have edited around this; there's no excuse (RAW was taped, and they had time to edit it for Monday). It was pretty funny.

wow im surprised Das Wunderkid, norman smiley, La Parka, Lash Leroux were named but how the hell did you guys leave out Disco Inferno...no one had better moves than he did. The was the best tag team EVAR!!!!Das Wunderkid and the Disco Inferno..ahh memories..Cant also forget Roadie...Now that is a creative character..

The "Dancing Asses" were a mockery to wrestling, it wasn't until 3-Count showed up that WCW sunk any lower. Hmm... makes you wonder, whatever did become of Evan Kuragias?

Anyway, pity about the Rock, I kinda liked him making random appearances. Was the decision to completely sever ties his idea, or Vinnie Mac's? Either way, forever in WWE years really isn't that long at all. We'll probably see the Rock at a WWE event someday again, he'll be there with Hogan, Goldberg, Mick Foley and Pat Patterson. Shame Bret Hart won't be there though...

...watching the Raw after WMIV, when X-Pac (re?)debuted with DX.

Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie take on the New Age Outlaws.

Austin's first appearance after winning his first title.

and more!

...now I need to find a 1GB Memory Stick - now that I have my PSP, I can watch ol' rasslin on the go!

myke.

And the next one to pose for Playboy Is....

I took the pic out. PM it to anyone who wants it. It's the intraweb people, c'mon! ;) - Trakan

I can't say with any authority, but chances are you're better off PM'ing it to individuals.

CAG's better off without posting any copyrighted material too, I'm sure.

myke.
...but it's the thought that counts, right?
damn shes hot

anyways sucks about the rock....i guess that means hes not gonna be in any games anymore either
Well, they've been putting him in the past games as a "legend."

Even WMXXI has the 2000-or so era Rock (big hair, sideburns, only the bull tattoo). I would be delighted if they continued to put him in there.

They need new legends, though. I feel slighted when given "classic" undertaker or "classic" Kane as legends, when King Kong Bundy, Jake Roberts, Razor Ramon, or many, *many* others can be included instead. Besides, "classic" UT was unique when the reguler UT was the "American Bad-Ass." Now he's just an alternate costume.

myke.

I dont think anyone will argue with that picture...

Its pity that we wont hear the 1 liners anymore form the rock especially when he used to interrupt HHH's in ring monolog..Favorite one is where ROCK goes through all teh classic 1 liners and imitates Bret Hart etc...Great skit...

I think the Dancing Asses sunk Alex Wright's popularity especially when he shaved his head...that was wierd..
