 The youtube videos are going to get just that more interesting.
I figured this was just some lights and a smoke machine. But then I looked at the box, and it says it's for 360. So it plugs in to the system? It interacts with the game?? They planned to add light shows to the game when they were making it??? Bizarre.

Two questions:
If you rma an insturment or two does it really have to be broken or can you just say its not working to get a new one? Aka do they care if it is really broken? My warranty is up near the end of Feb so I may RMA my guitar and/or drums if that works

And is there anyway to extend the warranty with Ea once it runs out? ( I bought it on Amazon so an extended warranty was out of the question)
I do world tour solo by hooking up a headset to a wireless controller then putting the controller on the coffie table next to me, the table gives enough slack to the wired headset to reach me.

I suppose you could put the controller in a part of your belt if you have one one too.

If you have a wireless headset it's even easier.
When I want to rock guitar and mic simultaneously, I put the Xbox controller in my left pocket, and have the heaset wire going over my left shoulder. For some reason, none of my Logitech PS2 USB headsets worked. Annoying...

I just installed the 3 Rock Band songs that come on this month's OXM disc. Awesome to play Super Spr0de -- one of my favorite Freezepop songs and a favorite from Amplitude -- with instruments.

Very lazy right now and I don't feel like searching for the answer. But what do I do about a broken guitar? My friend's strum bar and yellow fret are fucked.

From the Rockband.com forums...

"Action" made famous by Sweet (cover)

"Last Train to Clarksville" made famous by the Monkees (cover)

"All the Small Things" by Blink 182

All regularly priced at $1.99. I'll bite on Blink. One of the songs I can actually play on guitar. :D

I like Last Train to Clarksville... but covers... meh.

Yea I don't mind the covers that much. I just have to check it out on youtube before DLing though. Number of the Beast was decent enough to purchase.

I love me some Blink and it makes me wonder if +44 will make it into the DLC pile. I hope next week we get a 3 pack . I'd like to get 3 songs slightly discounted. I wouldn't even care if they just called it the "1/22/08 Pack", just give me the discount!

I'm not sure if I want any of those songs. All the Small Things is good but it was way overplayed on the radio and I'm just sick of hearing it. I'll probably download it anyways.

Spooge, PM me your email addy and I'll send the $1 chip in.

Still love this game. World Tour is starting to test the girlfriend's limits on vocals though. Could be an interesting trip. I got the Queens of the Stone Age DLC and listening to her sing Sick, Sick, Sick was good times.
Hmm...maybe next week. I'm still hoping that the OXM songs are made available on the PS3 somehow.
OXM songs? not available on the marketplace?
OXM songs? not available on the marketplace?
Yeah, the new Xbox Magazine disc has three free songs on it. Can't quite recall what they are, though.

i would prefer a different blink song, but i'll still get that and the monkees. as for the sweet song, i hate playing ballroom blitz on drums, so i'll just save myself from further humiliation.
My bass pedal broke at the super thin plastic on the swivel. I bought a momentary push switch, speaker wire, and a mono audio jack so I can build my own pedal. My pedal didnt turn at good at all (was giving me foot/pain problems).

So Instead I popped the pin out of the original bass pedal and duct taped the plastic piece that broke back on. I put the pedal back on and put the pin back in. To my awesome luck this doesn't work very well either because after a couple songs the tape comes loose and it barely works.

So to keep the pedal from popping out near the swivel I duct taped The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on top of the bottom of the pedal to keep it from popping up. I have been using this for a while now and it works good enough.

On another note I orderd a replacement pedal from EA and that came today. So to ensure that the pedal does not break again I bought this wooden pedal replacement from here http://www.woodrockpedals.com. I haven't got the wooden pedal in the mail yet (should be here tomorrow or monday), but I will let you guys know how it works.

Hope that helps.
Cool, thanks for the info. I was looking at the metal one too but man... I don't really wanna void the warranty and I also loathe spending so much money on this game. =\ I went to Guitar Center to check out drum mutes and they seemed a little excessive... but I'll probably buy them later.

I got to Foreplay/Long Time on Expert Drums. What's up with that intro... freaking ridiculous! Also 'cause of that, I also found out that my yellow drum fails like 1/20 beats now. Great...

anyone?
I might DL the Monkees song.

But Blink 182 is absolutely atrocious.
And it'll sell buckets. At least we're getting a variety, though.
anyone?
I don't think anyone knows whether or not they verify if your instrument is broken. Also, I haven't heard anything about getting an extended warranty either.
Well played.
I know this to be true because I sang and played the song in my old band more times than should be considered safe by any sane person.

Now, let the commiserating begin.

The Monkees? THE MONKEES!?!? Hell yes! I figured I was one of the few people who wanted them... now my cousin and I will have to fight over who gets to be Micky :)

Last week was such a disappointment (to me anyway)... happy to see I'll be buying all three this week.

Got the OXM disc today from sp00ge and installed the songs, can't wait to try the new songs out! Shipped the disc out to Ronnie (#3) who's next on the OXM list. My 360 had some trouble reading the disc since there was some scruffing on the bottom, but cleaning it a few times seems to have helped.

prolly gonna pick up blink and i need to get the oxm disc!
its $10 in store right? or if i could get in on the list i would just send a $1 via paypal to the sender?

Awesome. If you want to play later, send me a FR.

As for the OXM train, I'm still waiting for pitch-in from a few people. If I don't receive any notice from those on the list, they'll be skipped.

Once we get through the list a bit, I'll open up some more spots. Just to let you guys know, it may be up to two weeks before we get to the end of the current list.

Anyone who wants to be added and doesn't mind the wait, shoot me a PM.

Sure, will do! Feel free to send an invite or a message when you want to play, as long as I'm not watching a DVD I'm usually free to play.

So an OXM is $10? I might be willing to start a chain from the West Coast if that helps. I'm off most of tomorrow and got some GS credit to burn so maybe I'll pick up a copy to speed up the process for West Coasters.

That would be a great idea. Too bad the current OXM is currently heading out that way. I'm sure we can work something out and make two workable lists.

There actually is a way to get OXM disks for free if you go to their support website and say that the disk you received from the magazine was broken.
