Has anybody done any bass pedal modding? How did it turn out?
My bass pedal has cracked twice already and I don't want to happen a third time, so I'm looking for something to mod it with. I'm gonna hit up Guitar Center or Sam Ash tomorrow to get drum mutes cause that damn clicking sound annoys me when I play a song, so I can do that mod... but I'm really looking for something to do with the bass pedal.
And I don't really want to do the real bass pedal mod, because I know if I get a real bass pedal, I'll end up getting a real drum set...
My bass pedal broke at the super thin plastic on the swivel. I bought a momentary push switch, speaker wire, and a mono audio jack so I can build my own pedal. My pedal didnt turn at good at all (was giving me foot/pain problems).
So Instead I popped the pin out of the original bass pedal and duct taped the plastic piece that broke back on. I put the pedal back on and put the pin back in. To my awesome luck this doesn't work very well either because after a couple songs the tape comes loose and it barely works.
So to keep the pedal from popping out near the swivel I duct taped The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on top of the bottom of the pedal to keep it from popping up. I have been using this for a while now and it works good enough.
On another note I orderd a replacement pedal from EA and that came today. So to ensure that the pedal does not break again I bought this wooden pedal replacement from here
http://www.woodrockpedals.com. I haven't got the wooden pedal in the mail yet (should be here tomorrow or monday), but I will let you guys know how it works.
Hope that helps.
