Aren't the Yeah Yeah Yeahs the "Maps" people? Are all of their songs that terrible?
Actually, from what I've heard of them, Maps is quite uncharacteristic. Their tracks are usually a lot grittier. I still like Maps well enough, though.

fuck outta here.
Boston - Piece of Mind : Master track DLC for both games.

Foreigner - Jukebox Hero : Master track in GHIII and cover in RB.
Ahhhh, well that's alarming! Were they released around the same time at least?
You're quoting a criticism of No Doubt in your sig and are now hating on The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Do you have a beef with female lead singers or something?
No, just No Doubt.

And Maps is icky.

I'm incredibly excited for Date With The Night, and thank god they're releasing another song off their Fever To Tell album, its great. I wonder how tough the vocals will be on this track.
I preordered this today, but got no such email. I assume I'll get it when they put the songs up on Live?
Same.. nice avatar btw. ;)
Not ashamed to say that that song still gives me a hard-on every once in a while.

The last album was severely lacking in that kinda stuff, but the last EP sorta made up for it.
Date with the Night is hot sex. It should be pretty good on all instruments, too. This is a nice, unexpected surprise; I'm not sure why they bundled it with the other two songs, though. Seems a bit odd.

Yes, Date with the Night! Hurray for orgasm noises.

With regard to DLC overlap, I'm already more reluctant to buy songs for GHIII because I'd rather play them in RB. I almost bought the No Doubt track pack in a fit of nostalgia, but I'd much rather do bass, drums, or vocals on "Sunday Morning" in RB than slog through the chord fest that is the guitar chart.
I kinda want to say...more NIN simply because I want him to have more of my money.
Not that it would be considered selling out - but I wish Trent would throw some of his new stuff towards Rock Band (the same as Motley Crue did) since he is basically releasing something new every week

He just announced a bunch of US and Canada tour dates. There's another chance to give him more money. :applause:

This reminded me to check the website... you should also check the website: http://theslip.nin.com/

I am greatly anticipating a RB NIN Pack #2.

Yup, more reason brought it up because had to toot his horn on that somehow. Also yah, getting tickets this Wednesday when they show up here...

Trying to decide on the Disturbed tracks free with the CD. I would normally not buy a Disturbed CD, but 2 Rockband tracks make me want to.

Does anyone know if you get the Rockband tracks before the CD comes out?

From Major Nelson:

Grab selected Rock Band tracks for only 80 points each

MTV Games and Harmonix have teamed up with McDonald’s to drop the price on select Rock Band tracks in the United States and Canada. Each week until June 1st, you can grab two new tracks for 80 points each. To help you budget your time and money, here is the schedule of tracks:

5/6/08-5/12/08 :
Crushcrushcrush - Paramore
Rock 'n Roll Band - Boston

5/13/08-5/19/08 :
Shockwave - Black Tide
Sugar Magnolia - Grateful Dead

5/20/08-5/26/08:
We Care A Lot - Faith No More
All the Small Things - Blink 182

5/27/08-6/2/08:
Gimme Three Steps - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Dirty Little Secret - All-American Rejects

The lower price will start tomorrow (Tuesday 5/6) at 0200 PT. But I wanted to give everyone a heads up as soon as I found out about this promotion.

Think I'll pick up "Sugar Magnolia," "Gimme Three Steps" and "We Care A Lot." All the rest have been 80 pts before (so I bought them already!) and I'll pass on Boston since I'm still considering buying the full pack one day. :D

Wow, aren't Paramore and Black Tide already 80 points? And Dirty Little Secret was, though I know it isn't now. Jeez. Might pick up Faith No More and We Care Alot, because I have Blink+Boston Pack, and I know I'll get the Dead pack eventually.

I bought We Care Alot when it first came out simply for the line "We Care Alot! About Transformers Because They're More Then Meets The Eye!"
After seeing them at Rutgersfest I want some Third Eye Blind!
i want some third eye blind in this game so bad.

I'm looking into picking up Rock Band soon (very) and I was wondering if all the problems with the instruments have been sorted out by now. The guitar issues, the drum pads not registering... that stuff.

It's been long enough since launch that I hope we're in the clear now, but I just wanted to check as I really don't want to go through the hassle of having to return anything (since you actually have to send the stuff to EA, right?). Also, would I be wrong in assuming that in terms of 'newest' stock that GameStop might not be an awful choice?

Thanks.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but it's really pissing me off that xbox live is advertising the songs that were supposed to come out today all last week and saying to download now.

This bugged me too... I kept seeing them, and the first time wasting my time looking for them... Oh well

There should be newer (slightly) better models out right now. I'm basing this on the fact that I bought mine in November (at launch) and by December I returned and got a new guitar from EA and got the 3rd version with the magnetic strips around the strum bar so it's more stable (note that guitar by default still isn't perfect strum bar is still a bit wonky if you don't mod it). So I figure by now it should be the newer models if it's May now.

I'm glad they let you buy DLC even if you don't have the game. I know I'll be getting Rock Band eventually, so I'll probably go ahead and buy "We Care A Lot" while it's on sale.

Damn, I wish I would have waited on some those songs now. I paid full-price about 3 weeks ago. Still haven't played a single song.

WHat? Did they not come out?
WHat? Did they not come out?
No, they came out, but the ads were up Friday, when the songs weren't.

i wonder if some of the ones on this list are the slowest-selling DLC so far. even if it is, it's a nice incentive to get folks interested in it.

Shockwave, Sugar Magnolia, and We Care a Lot are the only ones I'd really call slow-selling. All The Small Things and Dirty Little Secret both capped the leaderboards, and the other three sold fairly solid. If this were really to push slow-sellers, something like Song With a Mission or Cherry Bomb would be up there.

This guy compiled a pretty cool site that extrapolates the number of downloads from the guitar scores. He updates it every week.

Obviously it only goes up to 100k, but it gives you a rough idea of what's popular. Mother hips would be an example of not popular... :booty:
