Sounds from that interview like they are going to have The Who re-record a song(s) so they can get the album out. I think people should understand that it takes a while for something like that to be pulled off correctly.
What would be cool is if they included different versions of some of the songs. I know when they did the Classic Albums on it that Pete would sing Behind Blue Eyes a little different.
the new patch screwd up game up a bit. it takes like 2 minutes to load a downloaded song... wtf
I didn't have this problem with the patch. =p
To bring up something ten pages old, you'll never see anything Danzig related on RB. The only reason why Danzig's "Mother" was on GHII was because the old record label went forward with it, then Glenn sued the shit out of them for doing so.

I didn't have that issue with the patch.
I'm going to have to go stock up on more points now for Priest though. Also, I've enjoyed the Crue song. I haven't given them much thought in ages. I was expecting it to be bad, but it was fun to play.
Ugh. Enough of this classic rock crap. I'm getting real sick of being disappointed every week with the same crap week in and week out. There hasn't been anything I've wanted since Paramore and Serj.
New music sucks.
I will endorse this comment because Serj is indeed crap, but Paramore I'm more forgiving towards (long as it ain't Ashley Simpson, socialite whore, Avril Lavigne, or whatever; I can forgive and semi-enjoy).

I'd like to see newer stuff also but I wouldn't say I'm disappointed by the all the classic rock, I still love it. However I'm not a fan of Serj.
I always tought Pretender would be a no-brainer for RB, even though it's getting very played out. I hear it on the radio every 15 minutes.
Lies. I'd kill for a SoaD pack/album. That would be ideal.
Yeah, but there's a difference between Serj and SoaD though. SoaD I can stand to a point, but Serj solo...man, just not my kinda music at all.
^^ Agreed. I don't follow RB news so much. I mainly come to this thread and lurk once or twice a week, just to get a sneek-peak at any DLC stuff. I'm sure I'm not alone.
I got my new drum set. It's a QM this time (old set was EL) and is a lot different. Much more responsive with less motion. Oddly, the metal parts of the stand are polished, where they are powder coated on the original. The pedal is a Version 2.
In hopes of preventing the heads from breaking again, I made some drum pads:
I've been using them all weekend, and they work pretty well. I designed them on my EL set, so the straps are a little too long for the QM, and I have had some issues with them staying on for extended sessions. I'll probably try some tape. But it is a lot quieter and perfectly sensitive.
Just great. Something is wrong with my drums and I can't quite say what exactly it's doing wrong.
I went into practice mode and played freehand (I don't know what other word to use. What I mean is that I went into Won't Get Fooled Again's Organ intro so I could just mess around and see if I noticed any discrepancies.).
Well in practice the drums seem fine. So instead of the organ section I chose a section with notes. When I am playing I am missing really easy notes but when I am playing without the notes scrolling on the screen they seemed perfectly responsive.
So maybe it is a timing issue. The problem there is that I have had it calibrated to LCD TV ever since I got the game, so the timing can't be a problem.
I hope that made some sense. If anyone has any ideas or advice I would appreciate it.
What's this EL/SL/QM stuff all about?
The drum model numbers or types. Supposedly one is better than the other...I just don't know which.
Here's a drum model breakdown - http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22451

Thanks! They're my take on these, though after seeing pictures, I think I would have preferred the neoprene style in the first link.
Anyone want to take bets on how long before Linkin accidentally deletes it?
On second thought, you're right. Maybe someone else should make the thread.
I'm sending back my broken drums. The paper in the box shouts "DO NOT INCLUDE THE DRUM PEDAL OR STICKS IN RETURN SHIPMENT," despite the fact that they sent me a new pedal. The only thing on the invoice is "360 drum pads." Has anyone else just kept the extra pedal?
Eitherway Rock Band DLC (ALONE) >>>>>>>>>>> Guitar Hero IV band...anyday.
Though I'd probably pick it up anyways just to compare or see how it shapes up ,unless ALL the goddamn instruments can detach (*ahem* LES PIECE-OF-SHIT-PAUL) then in which case Red Octane will go down in a horrible blaze of shit stained glory...
They can off for the following:
1) The price of their DLC
2) The quality of their DLC
3) Cockblocking Harmonix from patching Rock Band to use the Les Paul
4) Turning the GH franchise into their latest "Tony Hawk." GHIII wasn't my cuppa tea at all, man, and it's a shame to think, with Aerosmith on the way, the series peaked with #2 and shows no signs of going up.
Besides, Activision will go an arrogant $199 with their full game, and if Rock Band is smart, they'll drop to $129 in the weeks prior to GHIV (or whatever it is).
Activision and GHIV can (this is the scientific phrase, I believe) "eat a dick."

Its a stupid move to try to follow in RB's footsteps. The big difference in Harmonix versus Neversoft is actual understanding of music composition. I'll at least Gamefly the disc if I can use the RB controllers with it.
Neversoft already Tony Hawk'd the GH series with stupid Boss Battles and notes that aren't there. Random power-ups that negate skill? Please. They should just concentrate on making one hell of a Guitar only game. A good chunk of songs don't work in RB since all RB songs require drums and vocals. They also need some real DLC. All RB owners are happy. Their purchase is potentially refreshed just a little bit every week.
I interviewed at Activision last month and they were hinting at this announcement. They were very tight-lipped about the details though. I wonder why they've been so hush hush about something so obvious?
I think they're underestimating the hold Rock Band has on the hard core users and overestimating the brand equity of Guitar Hero. It will be interesting to see how they bundle it. If they go full package as the lead SKU I can see MTV countering with a game/guitar bundle with a points card to undercut it. If they don't package the full set I think the adoption rate on the drums is going to be really low.
I came into the GH game pretty late, got GHII only like six months ago? And picked up GHIII like two months ago. That being said, it's a fun series but after picking up Rock Band I don't see any reason to get any other GH. I already find the Guitar Hero series a bit tiresome, Rock Band is just doing everything right and Activision is doing everything wrong with Guitar Hero series.
And Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Activision has done a good job of making me cringe whenever I see a new Guitar Hero game announced. It's a familiar feeling, oh yeah Tony Hawk comes to mind.
"Tony Hawk" is now an accepted verb amongst gamers for "to take something amazing and catastrophically and royally it up beyond comprehension in a very short time frame due to overexposure and cluelessness."
I like it.
"Activision is totally Tony Hawking the GH franchise."
