Man...Screaming for Vengeance is (#*)(#*%)(#*% AWESOME fun in RB!!!!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend going for the whole album deal...you will just want to buy the rest later anyway.

we're really enjoying this album as well, especially Hellion/Electric Eye. seems much more fun than it was back in GH: 80's

the Screaming For Vengeance track kicked my ass on the first try though, haha
Is it possible to edit a created characters name? My bro wants to change a created character's name from Chuck G. to Chuck G. Cheese.
Well, I don't know if adding the Cheese would make it too long, but yes. Go through Options, Manage Data, Character Data.

I just went for "You've Got Another Thing Comin". Overall, I don't enjoy Judas Priest very much. Just a few songs, really... Add to that the fact that my g/f has no interest in singing most of these, and it was a pretty easy pass for me. I'll wait for the next full album. Glad to hear you guys are enjoying it, though!

Just managed to gold star 'Riding on the Wind' on vox...wooot.
Should make me number 2 on the leaderboard....for now.
From the main menu go to the options and I think Manage Profile or Data or something. You can chenge the name in there. I believe theres a couple options labeled Delete Character and Rename Character.
Thanks, that was easy.
1. Fair enough, but an argument could be made for master tracks being worth an extra .75 cents.

2. We can debate artists all day long, which would be a fruitless endeavor. Serj, Paramour, Freezepop and Bang Camero master tracks? Thanks, I'll take No Doubt any day of the week over that garbage.
Im Sorry but i gotta disagree with you here for The reason i underlined and made bold. Im happy to hear Serj. He sounds just like he did in System of a Down. Hell his new band sounds exactly as System of a down. In case you didnt know. I bet you put his name in there cause you probably thought he was a no name singer or something. But this is just my two cents why you put Serj in there and why i would take those bands over No Doubt any day of the week.

It's pretty obvious that he does know who Serj is because he shortened the name.

This whole debate is stupid though because taste is so subjective. I own five SoD CD's, but I would gladly trade Beethoven's C*** for any of the three No Doubt tracks that were released for GHIII.

The three biggest issues with the DL content are value, volume and backwards compatability. Right now it is no contest. For the future Activision has addressed value and volume, but I am still concerned about backwards compatability.

I really think cold chance in hell Activision is going to give a flying shit about backward compatibility with GH3 tracks. Simply because I think it'll be too much trouble putting up vocals. drums and whatever tracks in a DL'able pack.

I was thinking more along the lines of will content downloaded for GHIV be accessable from the discs for GHIV: 70's, GHIV: 80's, GHIV: 90's, GHIV: U2, GHIV: Def Leopard and GHV.

Funny story about playing the other day. My wife and I were doing a six song set in New York that ends with Timmy and the Lords of the Underground. About three songs in I stop talking to her and just keep saying "Timmy! Timmeh!! Tim....MAY!" She thought I was making fun of her and was getting pissed.

When the song finally started she said "what the fuck is this crap?" She then realized I wasn't making fun of her, but she was still pissed because she didn't like the song. The funny part is that we had already made it through five songs so she had to sing this one. She had to stop in the middle of complaining to sing things like "Timmy!" and "DUH". It was hilarious. She was even adding extra emphasis to the DUH's because she was pissed and she sounded like a complete retard.

That reminds me of us on St. Patty's day, my roommates and I were playing this song. We have one of them on tape singing it, absolutely drunk. It was quite hilarious.

Holy fuck I need to get Rock Band. Screaming for Vengeance is one of my favorite albums of all time. I think I'm done with GH. I barely play #3, and Rock Band has a lot more songs that I actually like.

You gotta get a 360 first, bud.;) Then we can co-op some Priest.

And that's why some of us don't want anything to do with it.

we were doing the endless setlist, and it was nearing 2 in the morn. GGAHT had just killed our bass pedal so we had resorted to the singer holding the broken part of the pedal and pushing it to the bottom to set the sensor off while the drummer drummed, at this time of the night that alone was funny enough. However on "Won't get fooled again" it seemed like a good idea to replace every word with Timmy. So our singer was beating the bass pedal and screaming TIMMY to the tune of Won't get Fooled again.

Timmy makes memories.

Maybe he'll sued like Dan Fogelberg...

Yeah I do. I always wanted to make a lame ass attempt to sing like Halford. Now I have a reason to.

 I know who Serj is. I'm just curious why they went with solo material over SOAD.

What's your timeframe for picking up the system?

I verified this week that I will, indeed, only be buying 3 songs from the Priest album:

Electric Eye
You've Got Another Thing Comin'
Devil's Child

I do hope that more Priest is released down the road, though. So many other great songs.

I just ordered GHIII, and I'll probably get a cheap GHII bundle for a second guitar. I will definitely get Rock Band sometime soon. My question is, what features will I miss out on Rock Band if I play exclusively with the GH guitars? As I understand, there is an "effects switch" or something along those lines that I wont' be able to use? Will this prevent me from unlocking songs or anything?

Also, what do I need to know about the drum set? Through skimming some of these posts I get the impression that there was a recall, or a better version of the drums released or something?

Effects switch just makes it so your guitar sounds different during solos and overdrive (a.k.a star power).

As for the drums, some are move/less sensitive, all can be externally/internally modded. But, the EA exchange system is very easy, just have to wait if your drum encounters problems you don't want to fix.
SO what's the DLC for next week?
Nothing yet. Probably in the next hour or two.

Sort of unrelated, but my GH3 Les Paul is starting to not respond periodically on the green button. Ugh. The DIY fixes don't look to be that difficult, fortunately. If 7 months ago someone would have told me I'd still prefer the GH2 Explorer after both GH3 and Rock Band came out, I would have called them a filthy liar.

These songs can be picked up individually for $1.99 (160 MS Points). And here they are:

The Mother Hips – “Red Tandy” (MASTER)

The Mother Hips – “Time Sick Son of a Grizzly Bear” (MASTER)

Smashing Pumpkins – “Zero” (MASTER)

This week's tracks will *not* be available as a pack, and must be downloaded separately.

To discuss this week’s DLC, please visit this thread, and be sure to check back next week for Brett Milano's article on The Mother Hips at RockBand.com/life
In for Pumpkins.
QFT. Just release Mellon Collie for $30 and Siamese Dream and Gish for $15 already!!

OMG Zerooooooo. I like the Mother Hips song that's already on the game, too. Might try out the other ones.

Unfortunately I made the boneheaded move of leaving my Rock Band disc in the tray of the 360 that I shipped out the other day, which leaves me without my necessary fix for a few days until the guy sends it back.

Although...perhaps it was meant to be. I did, in fact, trade the 360 for a real Fender Strat :)
In for Pumpkins.
Same.

As for The Mother Hips, here's Red Tandy.

Eh. :whistle2:k

Ehh may pick up Zero....big fan of some Pumpkins, but not the two songs released on DLC (Siva and Zero). Wished they would put up something like Today or 1979.

It's weird how they have a big band like the Pumpkins with two other songs by the same virtually unknown band.

Another "eh" week for me...it's been well over a month now since I've been actually excited about something being released. I may get Zero just because I like buying songs for this thing.

The people in my "band" are moving to Japan on 5/1 so I'll probably be moving on to GTAIV for a while anyway after next week. I pretty much haven't stopped playing Rock Band since it was released.
Will I eventually get better at this game?

Pretty much any expert guitar song looks impossible to me at the moment.
In Rock Band (as compared to Guitar Hero games) it's easier/quicker to move up the ranks through whatever instrument. If you want to reach Expert guitar quickest, I'd recommend you go through this process:

Easy Bass > Easy Guitar > Medium Bass > Medium Guitar > Hard Bass > Hard Guitar > Expert Bass > Expert Guitar.

Doing it that way will make the transition a lot easier on you.

I'm too much of a pussy to try anything beyond medium.:D

Once I get the drums, though, I'll go for the higher difficulties.

1979 would be win. Will settle for Zero.. for now.

It could be because I used to drum, but I find the Rock Band drums portion harder on settings lower than expert, just because it doesn't feel natural. :whistle2:k
