I haven't sent my drums in yet because I am still playing them but now I guess I'm stuck with these fucking socks on the pads because the sensitivity has been going out.

Ugh great.

It sounds like it might still work to send in the drums but fuck that because I will explode if I got an EL set. Socks it is I guess.

Hmm. I put in a request earlier today for a replacement bass pedal. Mine snapped over a month ago, but a thin piece of wood and some industrial tape held it together just fine for a while. It's been looking bad, the wood has even started to crack, so I re-fixed it today and put in my RMA. I did get a UPS tracking number, though and I've RMA'ed my pads before this, so I've at least got something in the system from before.

I hope it's either a mis-wording or mis-communication on someone's end, because it'll really suck if it's true.
Nice job, Syn.:applause: Downloading now...

That was actually pretty quick. Only took about 7 minutes.
Credit goes to the guy who posted the deal in the deal thread...i simply informed all you lazy bastards here :D

The game not showing any indication you downloaded the two Disturbed tracks (meaning it doesn't show up as "Purchased" in the store) was really bugging me, but fortunately it does show up in my download history on the dashboard. I'm hoping/guessing that even when the promotion is shut down we should still be able to download it if necessary, similar to delisted arcade titles.

Thanks for that code. I haven't played the songs yet, but I've always thought Disturbed was pretty good.

EDIT- I got the code earlier this morning. They might have caught on to what people were doing since then.
Bad news on equipment RMAs...according to posts on the Rock Band forum they are now enforcing the 60 day return policy. I guess it was inevitable but I really thought they would get the equipment right (particularly drums) before dropping the hammer...

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53907
Well, I just did an RMA for my drums on Sunday evening online (yellow is starting to drop notes occasionally), and they didn't mention the receipt online at all at that point...

Eek, hope this works out for me.

Hopefully you don't get an EL set. That would be my worry.

i currently own 4 sets..and all 4 of them are EL. >

Whats up with all the hate on the EL drum set? I've had the EL drums since January and everything is perfect. Nothing is broken, and the notes are always accounted for.

Yeesh, I feel like I suck at this game all of a sudden. My roommate has gone from a total noob two months ago to having 5-starred every expert guitar song...including all the Metallica DLC tracks...with about 75% gold starred :( I still only have 3 gold stars and a bunch of 3/4 star songs.
so what 80 point songs are worth getting out of the mcdonalds ones since theyre still up apparently and perfect insanity?
I got we care a lot. I like it, a lot. Easy song all on positions. Not that great if you don't like the song already.

Rock and Roll band from Boston is a good song, but I'm not a fan of the chart, so I passed even at a buck.

Shockwave by blacktide is good for a dollar. Guitar is crazy, drums are intense also.

Everything else is pretty much shit. We need more promotions on DLC. There are plenty of other songs I want but don't want to pay full price for.

Well, awesome. I clicked off the page with the code yesterday and couldn't get another one, so I figured I could get a new one today on a different computer.

fuck me.

My expert drum skills appear to tap out at "Maps" and "Reptillia" Can't pass either on my career. If I could just get the foot pedal down.

I really like that song too. I just tried drums the other night (I'm a solid medium drummer but only so-so on hard) and the song was a joke. I put it on medium and only missed a couple notes.

The Jimmy Buffett songs are fun, but they're entirely new recordings of the original songs. In Volcano, he changed one of the lines to something like "I just want to play Rock Band all day long." The Disturbed songs are cool as well. I'm really glad I started getting into the Rock Band DLC.

The Jimmy Buffet songs are so corny that I love them. There's nothing more hilarious then Cheeseburger in Paradise.

I was totally ready to download the Buffett until I heard what they sounded like. I admit that Buffett is one of my musical 'I know I shouldn't like it but I do' indulgences... but these new recordings just seemed to make them way cornier than before, which I had thought nigh impossible.

I think it was when there was a background vocal on Margaritaville echoing 'salt' that I just gave up on it.

Ok, EA. I put in a request for new drum pads. I gave you my credit card so that I could get the replacement first and then send the old ones in.

Why, oh why, DID YOU SEND ME AN EMPTY BOX? :bomb: :bomb: :bomb:

Get ready for a headache. By the time I finally got my replacement guitar I had 4 empty boxes.

Since my g/f's mom is a HUGE parrothead, I do know that the salt echo is a concert/fan thing. In fact, she took us to the Margaritaville in Glendale last time she was in the valley, and the employees did the salt echo thing everytime the song played in the restaurant. I like that it's in there because it kinda make it feel a little more like a live show.

You know, I want some Alan Jackson or Toby Keith in Rockband, give us some country.

Those would be fun, though you're getting country music suggestions from someone from the Bronx.
Ick no.
I want to agree, but I just downloaded Jimmy Buffet...I have no right to talk.

btw I modded my mic so I can swing it around Adam Lazzara style

Just lay some double sided tape along the body of the mic, wrap some of the cord around it, then get some stronger tape, like packing tape or whatever and then wrap that shit hardcore from the bottom up so it cant fly off.

now if I had more room I could do all sorts of crazy shit.
Get ready for a headache. By the time I finally got my replacement guitar I had 4 empty boxes.
Eh, I've got time. If nothing else, these boxes are huge, so I can use them for storage. ;)

Does it take over 2 weeks for them to ship replacements drums? My status has been "Label Printed" for 2 weeks now and my ups tracking just says "Billing Info received."

My request for Rock Band is 'genres'. Instead of having to slave through a few sections of music i really don't care for...let me and my band rock through genres we like. Rock, Classic, Punk, Country, etc...
I think we're getting Who's Next in July to coincide with VH1's "Rock Honors" celebration of The Who. Hmm... *ponders*
Bring it. I was thinking they might be holding it to coincide with GH:Aerosmith's release.

We're not getting Who's Next. Not masters, anyway. The first side was stolen at some point and nobody knows where it is. A The Who pack is possible, but not Who's Next.

(My interpretation of the gaffe goes- Harmonix asks for Who's Next. Label says "sure!". Gives the Won't Get Fooled Again master, goes to hunt for the rest. Can't find them. Can't re-record with half the band passed, and all of Harmonix's promises were already made based on that "sure!", so we have this situation.)

a few thoughts:

although Im nervous at the thought of a Rock Band 2(who knows if anything is compatible with it, DLC, etc) I like the blue box cover

I downloaded the Buffett songs and they are fun. I knew some friends who'd enjoy playing it so I figured what the hell, why not get them.

No to Country for me, Im waiting for 80s rock and more Chili Peppers & NNN

I'm fairly certain at least the DLC will transfer throughout the series (at least on this generation of consoles), and hopefully there will be a way to pool all the songs from the original disc with whatever they release in a physical format in the future. With people sinking so much money into additional tracks, there's no way they can expect us to just start over next year.

Why shouldn't they add some country, as well as other genres? I have no problem with it as long as they don't add it at the expense something else. It's not like they're forcing you to buy it, if you don't like it don't download it. To me, more variety will only get more people interested in the game, which should be good for us.

Indeed. Toby Keith and Alan Jackson give me murderous urges, but there are tons of people who would love something like that. And, like you said, if more people play Rock Band, more and more songs should be released.

They've already said that they will try to make DLC compatible.

I think that the GHIII content not being compatible with GH:Aerosmith is more due to poor planning and programming at Activision/Neversoft than actual technical limitations, but I wouldn't be surprised if MTV/Harmonix run into issues with Microsoft and aren't able to make it compatible.
