i just checked the amazon drum set i got a few weeks ago and i got the EL line (i think). do i really care? is there really that much of a difference? how does the EA return policy work if you find it not functional or your pedal snaps or something?

On a side note, is there a way to get the microphone volume to get any higher? I have it set as max and the master track set low, but I can barely hear my voice when all instruments are firing off. And I'm pretty loud
I hate that too. Singing is fun, but it still sucks compared to actual karaoke.

I'm pumped for the new Offspring song. Of course old would be better, but Hammerhead's not a bad song. Hopefully more will come in the future.

Speaking of punk... Bad Religion's in Rock Band 2!!! My all-time favorite band finally makes an appearance after sitting out the music game genre since Guitar Hero 1 (plus that was just a cover) and the same song as DLC in GH2. Anyway, the song will be Sorrow, which is one of their more mainstream songs, but very good regardless. Hopefully classic BR songs like Against the Grain, Twenty First Century Digital Boy, and American Jesus will follow some day.

WOW! Very excited about BR! :bouncy: Hope there will be some DLC for RB soon as well. They have such a strong catalog of songs, I'd love to see a BR pack offered. With BR, due to the shortness of many songs and the albums I'd love to see a "Greatest Hits" type of offering in RB, maybe 20 songs or something like that as opposed to just an album. I know it will probably never happen that way but I can hope. Oh well, I'll buy anything from them that shows up in RB regardless. :D

All this RB2 talk the past month or so, seems likely that GH4 may cause Harmonix/EA to put it out earlier than needed. I'm excited and sad at the same time. They already have my money.

I always wondered if anyone actually liked Offspring. I sure hated those songs that were on the radio way back when, but I'm glad for whoever likes it.

I loved Offspring. Their albums seemed to get sillier and sillier as the years go by though. I haven't heard the latest yet, but the last solid album was Americana, which was quite a few years ago.

Some of their earlier tunes would be extremely challenging.

Any idea as to why Brett Gurewitz would be putting finishing touches on a Rock Band song? I thought the bands were only involved if the songs needed to be re-recorded, and it's from 2002 so the recording should be fine. Perhaps they guitars just needed to be separated or something?

Although I am a little disappointed to hear of Rock Band 2. I was sort of hoping they'd skip a year and stick with the DLC for now.

In other news, my pedal was feeling a little mushy, so I checked it out... snapped. I thought I was in luck, since this this was actually my spare pedal, but in checking the other one I saw that it was broken in the same spot. These are long out of warranty (assuming EA is now enforcing the time period), so does anyone know how much they charge for a new pedal?

Coke that would be nice for us financially, but at least with Rock Band, we do have the option of sitting Rock Band 2 out... If someone chose to, he could just keep on buying the DLC, since it's supposed to be compatible across RB 1 & 2.

Rock Band is the new kid on the block and while it's built a modest following, they definitely need a new game to compete with Guitar Hero 4... Otherwise no one would even notice if they released part 2 next year - GH would have too great a hold.

They have a lot of really great songs, but at the same time some really crappy ones that were way too overplayed on the radio.

Go to Best Buy and pick up this new product:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8802655&type=product&id=1206142365809

You get everything for $20 but the best thing about it is that the pedal is actually a lot better than the stock one.

That's crazy. I paid $20 for the official Rock Band drum pads alone a couple weeks ago. Now I wish I had bought that pedal bundle, and kept the pedal as a stand-by.:bomb:

How do metal songs play in the game with the drums? I know that a lot of metal songs use two kick drums, so with only one in the Rock Band drumset those songs would probably be damn there impossible.

well get to enter sandman on drums and well youl find out ;);)
Ouch @ Pixie's album price.

Could anyone tell me what time the RB songs typically go up?
Usually around 3-4 AM EST, if I remember correctly.

My drum RMA took about 3 weeks. A week before them sending me the empty box and 2 weeks for them to receive and send me a new one. Not bad. I got another EL set in return, it feels a lot different from my launch EL set though. I haven't given it a play yet but just the way the pads feel and even the d-pad being stiffer are quite different.

That looks awesome. Any clue if EB/GS carries it? I've got credit to burn.

I think it's BB only for now. Only place I've heard and seen that has it

.

and the songs only show up on the xbox dashboard download center. They aren't available through the rock band music store till late morning.

This is an killer week. The Offspring song is fantastic, the Avenged Sevenfold ones are hard enough (Afterlife kicked my ass a dozen times), and the Crooked X song is a surprisingly good tune, and only a buck!

Thanks! I searched for "avenged sevenfold rock band" like 50 times and only got those Rock Bandage videos- npaean or something like that usually always has vids up.

Just to clarify for those who were asking,

On Xbox, DLC goes up on Tuesday 2 AM PST, Which is 5 AM EST. It's up on the marketplace before it's on the music store.

I know it's the xbox forum, but on PSN it goes up on Thursdays.

May want to add this to the OP.

When I check this morning at around 7, there were videos for at least the guitar already up.
What?
The second PST should have been EST, that was a typo.

Sorry for any confusion.

Personally I think the Crooked X song sounds pretty awful.
Offspring sounds better than I expected though...

Hey if anyone that has some dlc that want to play online, add gamertag bizmat. It's hard to find people that have some downloadable songs for me.

Oh great. I was all excited to download the new songs this week and guess what. My Rock Band disc starts freezing at the menu. Every time when I press start after the intro movie, it freezes up at the exact same spot, no exceptions. Does anyone know where I can get the disc cleaned? I went to gamestop this morning and they said no and it pissed me right off since they're supposed to be a used game trading store, something about that just doesnt' make sense to me.

Unless you're sure it's the disc, try clearing the hard drive cache, by selecting it in the memory menu of your 360 dashboard, then pressing X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X. Then select yes. I've had to do this for some other games that gave me this problem.

I kinda keep forgetting to ask, but what the hell do you do when a DL'ed song doesn't load and instead it takes you to the "The song data you were accessing has become unavailable, and the game cannot proceed without it. Your game session has restarted." Since I delete and re-download it, but still no dice.

I grabbed Afterlife. The solo kicked my ass the first time but I managed to muddle my way through it on the second try with a hefty helping of overdrive (51%, baby!). Still 4-starred it. Pretty easy song, really, apart from the nightmare of a solo

Great news about the Offspring 6-pack. Can't fucking wait. Best "pack" since Boston.

Coming soon for Rock Band:
“Come Out And Play [Keep ‘Em Separated]“
“Self Esteem“
“Gone Away“
“All I Want“
“Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)“
”The Kids Aren‘t Alright"

Thanks to Shagrath on DVDtalk for pointing that out. It's on the band's official site.

Those should be fun as hell (even though Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) makes me want to stab myself).

I cannot resist that 6-pack... Wow! And I thought Hammerhead was great. I could live without Pretty Fly For a White Guy, but I know it's popular.

Yup.

The band sucks, and I want to get the suckiest song to sing.
I love singing (and hearing friends sing) stupid songs.

Man oh man, I'd pay $10.00 for Simple Plan's "Welcome to My Life"
I'd be  all over the floor before I could finish the vocals.
