NICE!
I'm definitely looking forward to singing She Sells Sanctuary and Bandages.

I'll pick up these two songs for sure. What is even cooler is I have won that stride contest twice so it will be like getting those songs for free!

I also am glad we are getting 20 more free songs. I just wish they had been on the disk. My HD is hurting with all the RB stuff I'm putting on it. I'm really going to have to hunt down a deal on a bigger one soon.

Does anyone know how far you can go in world tour mode in single player just playing on Medium? I usually can play most Hard Songs, but I want to earn so many stars and fans I'm finding myself picking Medium just so I can open more cities and venues.
My GHII xplorer is still running strong, want to get the new RBII strat though.

Side question me and my brother want to do the endless setlist 2. So I can't pause and can't fail, right, for the achievement? And can it be done on hard? My brothers not good enough that I trust him to play through on expert and not fail.
^^^
Answer my question.

Don't make me go to gamefaqs.
Probably? You just won't get the Platinum achievement since it gives you the cheese for the lowest level player.
well is their a platinum one? I thought the achievement was just beat the endless set list 2 without pausing or failing.

Though the achievement depending on difficulty stack. So if you play hard you get the medium one as well. If you don't pause or fail though, you should get the iron bladder achievement as well, though I've heard some reports in order to get all the endless setlist achievements you have to go through it twice.

k so the bladder one can be gotten by beating it on medium if you want, difficulty doesn't matter, just don't pause.

Then there is achievements for beating it on medium, hard, and expert. So I'll probably go through on hard and not pause. Should get the vinyl artist, gold artist, and bladder achievements.

Here is a Semi ok question....

hehe, one of the premade characters already looks like him imho. This game needs some Bohemian Rhapsody badly...

I did see him, But now I can't remember his name worth a lick of S**t. :( Makes me sad. So I thought I'd create him as a Stand in for the Band Singer.

I took Rock Band 2 over to a friend's house for a Rock Band night, and we experienced horrible "framerate" problems. The background ran normally, but the note chart would randomly jump to about half the usual framerate, making the notes hop very jerkily down the screen.

I didn't get around to looking into it that night, but this is apparently what happens with Sony's Cinemotion turned on. Just FYI.
I've been thinking about the GH:WT drumkit and how it will work in Rock Band. Since the raised yellow pad is between the red and blue pads, I guess it won't take too much of a mental adjustment to just match colors and play the RB drum charts accordingly. If you just ignore the second (orange) raised pad, you've still got a red/yellow/blue/green lineup from left to right. This may have already been obvious to everyone, but I just now figured it out now after looking at some GH:WT videos. :p

I wonder if the raised orange pad will register the same input as if you hit green... because green is usually the crash cymbal right? That would be convenient. And does the "yellow" drum note ever translate to a cymbal or hi-hat or whatever it's called in RB drum charts? Because if so, that'd be perfect.
I simply can not stop watching your sig.

I made a very convincing Ace Frehley using the Dressed to Kill armor.
My wired GH2 Xplorer is the only one I've got with a reliable tilt sensor, my GH3 Les Paul and RB1 Strat have minds of their own, especially whenever I play sitting down(because my TV is at eye level that way, not because it's tiresome). I end up wasting a lot of my overdrive because often it'll go off as soon as it hits 50%
Yeah, my Les Paul is like that...if I'm sitting with it "normal" it'll deploy randomly once I have enough overdrive saved...if I tilt it up a little while playing it won't go off, but I can't tilt it up MORE to get it to activate, I have to like dip it down and then pull it back up. It's annoying as hell. I'd like to get in there and try to fix it but since I'm using the RB2 guitar now I'm not in a hurry.

Like you, my Xplorer has been a rock. No problems with it to this day.

The X-plorer is best guitar peripheral across all consoles!

The way they're going with the guitars seems to be more about look and realism as opposed to functionality.

The RB guitars are just all in all garbage. The effects switch and solo buttons are all great additions, but when the buttons and strum bar feel like ass who cars about the bells and whistles they added?

I am really hoping that the GH:WT guitar is like the second coming as far as guitar controllers go. I think as long as the strummer gives me a, "click!" sound I'll be able to get used to whatever else they throw at me.

Then again, the buttons and neck on the Les Paul were a real deal breaker for me. The buttons just didn't give enough and neck was too thick. Not to mention dropping notes to due to the stupid detachable neck.

My X-plorer actually has some star power issues though. You have to tilt it the"right" way or it won't go off. Not abig deal for me as I have gotten used to it, but my friends tend to flip out and complain about it. It did cause me to fail Battery the other day as the star power failed to activate despite me throwing that bad boy up.:bomb:

For the Iron Bladder achievement I wonder if hitting the guide button (which halts the game) counts as a pause? I thought that might be a sneaky way to get around the no pausing requirement.

I will be on about all day today, no work :)

I can only play Guitar on Medium but I have a lot of the downloadable songs (1/2) So I would love to play but also I do have a broken headset as well. LOL

I was thinking the same thing, but good luck trying to find someone to test it.

Well of course it doesn't work. The minute you open up the guide if you look the pause screen comes up behind it.

Wow, that would be pretty awesome to accidentally unplug your controller/hit the guide button/run out of batteries while playing Endless Setlist.

That happened on my old roommate's Bravia with RB1. I couldn't play for extended periods of time because it gave me such bad motion sickness. Unfortunately, no combination of visual settings seemed to make any bit of difference.

Hitting the guide button or disconnecting your controller does count as a pause, someone tested it out on scorehero.

A few quick questions....I was wondering if RB2 is challenging, like are there a handful of songs that will challenge you to 5*/gold star? On gh3 i passed everything on expert including TDWDTG. The amount of songs in rb+rb2 sounds like a sure purchase. Just need that extra push to run out to Best buy before heroes starts.

And will it work w/ my wired xplorer. I assume it will work w/ the wired guitar since there are a few posts above me talking about it.

Thanks in advance :X

Your X-Plorer will work, and I think you will find a fair amount of challenging songs in Rock Band. They might not be as some of those in Guitar Hero, but definitely challenging (especially if you include DLC).

I feel sorry for the guy who's batteries are gonna die during the last song...

Definitely some challenging stuff in here. I have pretty much all of GH 3 5 starred minus TTFAF and TDWDTG and i'm challenged quite a bit. If you really want challenging they have some really good dlc too. The Megadeth album is AMAZING to play on guitar. Very challenging stuff. There is quite a bit of filler that will bore you to tears, but its a very fun game. Especially if you have friends to play with. Your xplorer will work too.

RB2 guitar is a bit more difficult that RB1.
Also, I beat GH2 and GH3 on expert, and have lots of trouble with some of the songs on RB2...but that might be because I'm rusty, since I pretty much moved onto drums.

Anyway, I'd say definitely get Rock Band 2.

RB1 only song I was stuck on was GGAHT, this one I got Battery, Peace Sells, Visions, Painkiller, Panic Attack and Master Exploder. Not to mention Megadeth DLC constantly kicking my ass.

fucking lame. I went to go get this game today and the bundle is not out until the 19th. What the hell.

Why would you make any new fans wait a full month before being able to buy the game. Completely lame.

I agree... luckily, I sold RB1 back to Blockbuster... got the game there, then picked up the new drums and guitar separate and I paid the same price for everything as I would have for the bundle... score.

So is there no advantage to buying the bundle. Should I just follow suit and buy everything separate.

(by the way does anyone know why every time I try to put a question mark I get this symbol. É. I seemingly cant get half of the symbols on my keyboard to work)

if you have the mic from RB1... and can get the 32$ from BB for trade-in... there's basically no bundle advantage
I feel sorry for the guy who's batteries are gonna die during the last song...
Anyone who starts playing the endless setlist without putting in fresh batteries first is pretty dumb to be honest. It's 6 and a half hours long...

Well thats my problem. I am a completely new fan I have no rock band related anything.

I might go with GHWT since I have to wait that long anyway. Hmmm more research.

thanks TrenoV and lolwut?

Picked up the game and just played a few songs, can you tap like you do in gh3? The nirvana song had a section of HOPOs which i was having a problem with. maybe i was hitting the notes early or something...

You can tap but its a lot more difficult. The timing window is pinpoint compared to the insanely loose GH 3 window.

Yeah. You gotta get used to that.

Looking through the thread- If anybody needs help with any impossible challenges, send me a PM or a friend request and I'll be able to. It'd just be a matter of inviting you to my band, choosing the highest tier impossible challenge and playing it, right? I'd be happy to help anybody out, within reason.
