I just made an attempt at beating visions on guitar and bass, and that song is a straight up piece of shit.

It's such a bad song that beating isn't something I care to put effort into.

Harmonix needs to keep crap like that as DLC.

The fact that this one song alone will prevent so many people from beating the endless set list on expert, or just the Harmonix set list for that matter, is a shame.

I have no problem with hard songs, but this is a bad kind of hard it seems.
I'm not trying to come off as a jerk, but Visions really isn't that hard. Green Grass gave me so many more problems.

Eh if you're really complaining about it on guitar or bass you should see it on drums. They have it a lot worse, the chart is retarded.
You missed out. The :360: version is down to $16.
By the way thanks for the reply...I'm just gonna get in on the amazon deal...and those talking of Primus and Cake being in the game know their stuff...god, I'd love some wynonna's bbb or going the distance.
I am so tired of hearing how GH costing more justified or makes RB some kind of bargain. As I have said a million times getting raped up the ass by Harmonix slightly smaller dick is still getting raped.
well you asked a good question and i thought i gave a good answer but now your crying. a song download from just about any website cost's $1.
some rock band songs also cost $1 but most cost $2. by buying albums or packs you can sometimes get a discount $1.20 - $1.80 per song. so i want you to tell me how exactly paying 2 dollars for a song that has 4 different gameplay methods programmed into it is "rape". i want to to explain how a liscenced song that has hours of programming attatched to it is supposed to cost less than a buck. harmonix isn't making much off of these tracks. artists/record companies get the big chunk and microsoft gets a piece of it to. also, smart gamers (cheap ass gamers) buy they're microsoft points on sale or get them for free from promotions so really most of us pay a lot less than $2 a song.
I'm one of those people, unfortunately. I can't even beat it on hard, and I like to think I'm decent at the game.
I feel the same way, I consider myself to be pretty damn good too, but I'll just leave it alone for a while and go back to it, and hopefully when I do I'll beat it!
I'm not trying to come off as a jerk, but Visions really isn't that hard. Green Grass gave me so many more problems.
Not that hard? Green Grass and High Tides is only hard at the end of the song, and only guitar is hard at the end! Drums are easy, vocals are easy, and bass is a little tricky, but definitely easier than guitar.

Visions is ball busting on all parts except vocals which consist of just talking. I personally know quite a few people that are damn good at guitar and I think I know maybe one person that would be able to hang, and give me a chance to beat it.

If you guys were playing on band play in RB1 there wasn't a song that you couldn't beat if everyone was at least competent on expert. Visions requires everyone to be top notch players just to survive!
Eh if you're really complaining about it on guitar or bass you should see it on drums. They have it a lot worse, the chart is retarded.
Oh yeah, I have, and it's just as, if not more, ridiculous. I tried on guitar since it's so hard on drums.

I got about 77% through it, and I think I might be able to beat it on a good day.

$1 is perfectly reasonable but the problem is you yourself are admitting that most are $2 a song and that you only get the discounts on Albums which come on just look at this topic and Red Hot chilli peppers....very few people want to buy a whole damn album. Besides that you whine about how the developer isnt making anything when that's a load of bullshit and you either are more ignorant then you claim I am or you know it. Look at Activision and EAs profit on these games and how they have went up since these games came out. They are pulling in insane amounts of money. We are being raped on these songs and it seems the only ones that dont think so are you damn Rock Band fanboys(its amazing that GH fans are a bunch of children yet their smarter then you).

Take your own advice and think. Ill drop this now because iv learned that arguing with Rock Band fanboys is worse then arguing with the damn console fanboys(even the Nintendo ones!)so there is really no fucking point in trying to debate this with you.

P.S you say smart people get their MS points on discount but guess what.....they dont go on sale that often. Look at the topic where amazon had them on sale and see the shit tons of people saying they bought a bunch of them for that very reason. So if your going to raise a point atleast fucking make it valid.

For christsake, quit calling people "Rock Band Fanboys" when you have GH's cock so far down your throat you can't breathe. Only person bitching about Rock Band's DLC prices is you, that should be your first hint you are full of shit. No one else here is screaming rape over the DLC Harmonix/EA is providing.

GH sucks in the DLC department. Get the fuck over it already, be glad you have a MIDI interface in the new game or whatever.
1. They've gone on sale twice in the last 6 weeks - Target and Amazon, and I wouldn't be surprised if I missed one. It's not nearly as infrequent as you think.

2. That's why you buy multiple cards when they are on sale.

Quit grasping at straws.

I'm lovin' RB2 at the moment. Much better song selection than the first one, and they cleaned up all the issues RB1 had. The only thing I'd like to see is more ska.

I found out at the SRK/Neo-Geo.com meltdown when a better player played that my red snare doesn't register rolls on expert, so I sent them in for a replacement. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that they'll send me the new RB2 drums, but I'm not holding my breath.

I also picked up the new RB2 guitar, and I am not real impressed. The strum seems to miss every so often, and you can use a pedal for overdrive if you stand and play but the coil unplugs itself. You have to be sitting down. I'm used to tilting the guitar for overdrive anyway, even if I miss notes while I'm doing it. I do like how there's bumps for orange, and I do like how the frets aren't as clicky though.

*rolls his eyes*

So you guys are pretty much licking Harmonix's taint and your calling me a GH fanboy whenever I have never said GH is any better and if anything said that their worse. GH makes better instruments from what iv seen and heard, but I like Rock Bands gameplay and content better AND there is more to offer. When you call someone a fanboy just because they called you one.....well it makes you look like a fanboy(and ill leave it at that to avoid a no you are argument). Like I said pretty sad that you just throw out that fanboy without ever having seen anything from me.

And nah, im not the only one..... Plenty of people bitch about the price of DLC and plenty bitch about how hard it is to get your hands on MS points on the cheap. Just again you Rockband fanboys dont seem to pay attention to anything but whats in front of you......probally because its hard to see anything else when harmonix has you over a barrel.

Im gonna take off now. No point being in this thread(as im sure there wouldnt be a point in being in the GH thread)because you damn fanboys cant do anything but worship your God and seem to have an inability to think for yourself anymore(no one more then you kane who I have seen in multiple topics acting this way).

GH generally has a better track listing overall, and i like how their guitars' strum bar is clicky. I don't like their childish presentation and graphics.

I've pretty much given up playing GH. Their game balance is really fucked up too. I can 100% songs on medium, but I can't even get through 6% on even the easiest songs on Hard. At least on RB, I can pass the easiest songs on Hard.

You reference the people in the Amazon thread for your argument, who are actually agreeing with Irukandji in a roundabout way. They are, in fact, smart people who waited for the cards to go on sale. "...They bought a bunch of them for that very reason", isn't proving your point at all- it's helping Irukandji's case- they bought 'em 'cause they don't go on sale that often, but they still bought 'em.

All in all, his point seems pretty valid, but your's...

Not so much. GTFO.

For whatever it's worth, bands get $2,000 -$5,000 for use of their song. Keep in mind that has to pay anyone associated with the song (the label, the publisher, the songwriter, etc.). Really doesn't go that far.

Harmonix is "raping" us because all DLC is OPTIONAL. You don't have to buy any of it. I buy songs that I know and want. Others buy every song that comes. Its all optional.

As a band, yea Visions is WAY harder. But on guitar, I have such a hard time getting the end of the last solo down in Green Grass.

you ignored half the points i made and then your trying to squash the argument by lobbing me in some fanboy category. your the childish ignorant prick here. nobody has to buy a fucking thing if they don't want to but 2 dollars isn't bad for a song i can play on 4 different instruments multiple times. nobody is getting raped. harmonix doesn't put a gun to my head and take my wallet. if i want to download songs i have that option. and i enjoy that option. what i dont enjoy is when people ask for an opinion on a forum and they they cry and rant when they get some feedback and suggestions. if you think harmonix is so evil and greedy thats fine. i dont care. but i'll do some math here since you don't understand it.

rock band 2 on sale $50.00
rock band 1 rental $ 2.00
liscence transfer $ 5.00
= $57.00 for 160 songs

go fuck yourself.
rock band 2 $60.00 not on sale too often
rock band 1 rental $ 9.00 (I blame 2008 and inflation)
liscence transfer $ 5.00
= $74.00 for 160 songs
= $.4625 per song.

.
Fixed. Not too shabby.

I would love to see an entire Dream Theater album on Rock Band. And some Joe Satriani.

Two dollars is the fairest price around. I buy songs on iTunes for 99 cents + tax, and then I buy songs on Rock band for 2 dollars which gives me the ability to drum, play guitar, bass, and sing to the track. Sounds like it's worth 2 dollars to me. Not to mention I would say a majority of songs released atleast debut at a reduced 1 dollar price.

Lets look at the coming up DLC, Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

It sells on iTunes for 11.99 +tax. So for a mark up of like 7 dollars you get to play and experience the whole album in 4 different ways.

Sure you can't take it with you and listen to it on the go. The same can be said for iTunes though in that I can buy it there and play it on rock band.

If you think that paying 2 dollars for a song on RB is "rape" you are in the minority. You also probably aren't paying attention to gas prices, because that's where all the wallet rape is occuring.
I'm still shocked Green Day hasn't jumped onboard.
I am too. I've been waiting for a song of theirs every since RB launch.

It's a shame, since their songs would be a perfect fit for RB. They're fun, and have something for everybody to do.

Until they jump on board, we always have "All the Small Things" by Blink-182.

Green Day would be good, I don't really feel too strongly about them either way, but they do have a lot of catchy toons that would be great for Rock Band.

I would really like to see some New Found Glory. Sticks and Stones as DLC would be awesome!
I don't want American Idiot stuff, I'm talking Dookie...unless you hate that album Trak.
But those are their two best albums! I'd be up for some Green Day.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but has anybody ever heard the lyrics to "Sir Psycho Sexy" on Blood Sugar Sex Magic?

A long, long, long, long time ago
Before the wind, before the snow
Lived a man, lived a man I know
Lived a freak of nature named Sir Psycho

Sir Psycho Sexy that is me
Sometimes I find I need to scream

He's a freak of nature
But we love him so
He's a freak of nature
But we let him go

Deep inside the garden of Eden
Standing there with my hard on bleedin'
Theres a devil in my dick and some demons in my semen
Good God no that would be treason
Believe me Eve she gave good reason
Botty looking too good not to be squeezin'
Creamy beaver hotter than a fever
I'm a givin' 'cause she's the reciever
I won't and I don't hang up until I please her
Makin' her feel like an over achiever
I take it away for a minute just to tease her
Then I give it back a little bit deeper

[Chorus]
Sir Psycho Sir Psycho yea he's the man that I met 1 time
Sir Psycho Sir Psycho yea he's the man that left me blind
Sir Psycho Sir Psycho yea he's the man he's the man he's the man

He's a freak of nature
But we love him so
He's a freak of nature
But we let him go

I got stopped by a lady cop
In my automobile
She said get out and spead your legs
And then she tried to cop a feel
That cop she was all dressed in blue
Was she pretty? Boy I'm tellin' you
She stuck my butt with her big black stick
I said "what's up?" now suck my dick
Like a ram getting ready to jam the lamb
She whimpered just a little when she felt my hand
On her crotch so very warm
I could feel her getting wet through her uniform
Proppin' her up on the black and white
Unzipped and slipped "ooo that's tight"
I swatted her like no swat team can
Turned a cherry pie right into jam

[Chorus]

Hello young woman that I love
Pretty punk rock mamma that I'm thinking of
Hold me naked if you will
In your arms in your legs in your pussy I'd kill
To be with you, to kiss with you, I do miss you
I love you

Lay me down ....
Descending waves of graceful pleasure
For your love there is no measure
Her curves they bend with subtle splendor

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the funk will make me freak
If I should die before I waked
Allow me Lord to rock out naked
Bored by the ordinary time to take a trip
Calling up a little girl with a bull whip
Lickety split go snap "snap"
Girl gettin' off all in my lap
The tallest tree the sweetest sap
Blowin' my ass right off the map
Ooo and it's nice out here
I think I'll stay for a while

I'm assuming they're going to have to censor some of that stuff if they want to maintain their Teen rating.

I'm just a recent graduate to HARD mode, and that was the only song in the game I couldn't beat. I had to quit out of the last "Marathon" challenge, beat that song on Medium, then quit again so I could go back to Hard for the remaining songs. Of course, there is a ridiculously huge disparity between Medium and Hard for that song, so clearing it on Medium wasn't even satisfying in the least. Made me feel all dirty and grimy inside. Blech!

I'll take any Green Day I can get. I'd prefer Dookie or Insomniac though.

I think it's time for me to graduate to Hard on Guitar. Medium is getting too easy. I've dipped my toes in hard, and can 3 star the easiest songs. Then again, drums are my main, but they're not coming back to me until later this week.

A few things on the RB2 guitar:
I'm missing a lot more notes with it than the RB1 guitar. I'm also missing the tail end of sustain notes for some reason with it. Maybe I just have to break it in.

Someone PM'd me asking if the RB2 guitar works with GH. I tried it with GH2 on the 360, and it wouldn't work. It navigates the menus fine, but when you play, you can't strum or hit any of the frets. Hope that helps some people.
Holy shit, is that a chick really singing that Visions song?
Yea, JFD posted her pic in the OTT somewhere.

lol @ someone complaining about Rock Band DLC; make more money.

I can honestly say there has never been a GH pack that I've ever wanted to download.

Ever.

Most of their songs, on guitar, are kind of repetitive though.

Maybe you could trade in some of your food stamps for a marketplace card or something. Everything you have said is completely stupid. Your arguments have been handily countered and it just bounces off of you. Glad you're leaving.
Most of their songs, on guitar, are kind of repetitive though.
True but on the other hand those songs are also usually more fun to do vocals with at the same time.

So I was at a friends house playing rockband 2 over the weekend and for the first time I noticed that online you can't hear the person singing at all. Why is that?? Is there a way to turn that option on so you can hear other people online singing while you are playing??? Anyone else experiencing that problem?

It's operating as intended, so it's not a "problem."

The singing wouldn't work too well online - lag would throw it off (you'd be hearing vocals a second or two behind where the song is), plus voice doesn't exactly sound pristine over XBox Live.

The singer can talk to other players by holding down one of the trigger buttons while talking, but holding down the trigger while you're singing is generally a surefire way to piss your bandmates off.
It's always been like that. You need to hold LB (I think) on the controller for people to hear you.
I think it's left trigger. And after asking a few people to do it, I can see why it's off by default.
I think it's left trigger. And after asking a few people to do it, I can see why it's off by default.
lol, yeah I figured it was probably a merciful gesture on the part of Harmonix, all things considered.

Because of the Xbox Live downtime today I jumped in to the Endless Setlist 2 on Expert Vocals. So far so good, I'm about halfway done and I already (easily) passed the top tier songs on Expert Vocals earlier on quickplay, so I know I won't run into any problems at the end.
