I finally found a use for my crappy launch drums, aside from my daughter banging on them. My wireless RB2 had a sensor crack and stop working, and it's out of the 60-day warranty. So the old set is now a donor. I was shocked that the sensors were basically the same, especially after all these revisions. Either way, I still have three more backup sensors and Rachael can still use the drums.

Now my wireless drums work FLAWLESSLY, so no more excuses about why I suck. :D
Out of all the Rob Zombie and Godsmack songs they could have chosen, why did it have to be those two?
Thats what I was thinking
Have they patched Rock Band 2 to work with Lips microphones yet?
I had been wondering the same thing. Ive been looking forward to when that happens. Hopefully it will happen soon

Something has come over me where I really want gh or rockband even though im terrible at them. If anyone has a wireless guitar and a game they want to trade cml. I have no idea, never been a fan of these games but as I said, something just came over me.

Man, out of all the stuff they have release so far I still havent been really excited by anything. Closest thing was that No Doubt pack. They always seem to disappoint me slightly and whenever I see a band that I really like they always seem to pick the few songs I could give a rats ass about.

I guess I am pickier about music than I thought beacuse I am passing on a lot of their content.

There is nothing wrong with that. Especially the fact that you're saving your points for songs you really want. I'm doing the same thing as well, just buying the songs I enjoy. :applause:

QFT.

There really aren't a whole bunch of songs I'm interested in too. Less than 10 individual songs(maybe a little more, but IDK), the songs from RB1, the Foo Fighters album & the No Doubt album, that's really about it for me at the moment.

Yeah there are always a few "on the fence" songs that I'm tempted to buy. But I hold out, and I feel like a cheapskate. But every now and then, one of those "omg, no WAY!" songs will come along (like Mute Math this week, in my case) and then you'll be glad you held on to those points. :D

I'm only 21 but as a kid my dad had a steve miller band CD that I grew up listening to so "take the money and run" and "the joker" is all win to me.

just bought rockband 2 game only for 38$ off the dell deal, check the deals forum if you dont have it but why would u be on this forum. I now need a guitar, never had a guitar game before so what is the cheapest option of getting a good guitar that wont break on me. Im also willing to purchase one off here if anyone has an extra wireless, no les pauls though, read they suck.

I'm in for all three Steve (Steven??? LOL) Miller tracks. I wish we could have gotten Abracadabra too but oh well maybe next time - would have been a GREAT bass song.

anyone know the implications of using a FOG MACHINE indoors?

I got that Stage Kit, and I just assume it's a bad idea to use the fog machine part of it in my small apartment. I mean with the mean DVD/game shelves, and the 360 right there and everything... probably a bad idea to use the fog machine right?

The synchronized LIGHT show is awesome though!

Who said the Les Paul is the worst? I honestly think it's the best guitar for the 360. I know some people had issues with the detachable neck, as have I. But a little bit of brasso to clean the contact points solved that issue.

I've had nothing but problems with my Les Paul. I did the "move the tabs behind the connection" thing with the neck and that solved the non-responsive frets, but there are still major issues with the tilt sensor. I found the Xplorer to be much more reliable. I'm really digging the RB2 Strat though.
random question: can you copy the music from the track packs?
There is a download code for the tracks in it, at least for the AC/DC and 2nd track pack there are.
in the game or the package?
The package, kind of like a card-style code, if I remember from the AC/DC pack, at least.

Is there any way to have multiple calibration profiles? I move my 360 between my LCD in my "man room" and my living room depending on what I'm doing. My living room has a fancy AV receiver and there's a noticeable lag when not calibrated and I'm not sure that my LCD (straight connection via HDMI) will need the same settings.

On the track pack the code should be in the back of the manual, as stated above.

I love this song. Maybe next time.

Is that the mod where you open the casing and move the circuit board up an inch or so? I was thinking of giving that a try if I had a torx screwdriver or whatever I need for that.

It will do precisely what you think, it will fill your apartment with Glycol smoke. It will probably do it fairly quickly. An overly sensitive smoke detector might go off. Some folks might get dizzy, ect...

All that said, I had one in college, and I didnt hesitate to use it at parties. So give it a whirl once.

I got Mute Math and The Joker. I had seen the Mute Math video for that song on one of the local HD sub channels and had liked it but never got around to learning more about the band.

Its kinda cool I've found them again, in RB of all places.
My drums are acting weird...
When I hit the blue note, it sometimes registers as I'm hitting yellow and blue.
help?
The yellow sensor is overtightened. Mine did the same thing.

You have to pop off the yellow head and remove the two screws holding on the orange piece. Once you get down to the sensor, most likely the adhesive patch will be misaligned. Carefully remove it and realign it. Put it back together, but don't tighten the screws too much.

Your problem should be fixed. That's what fixed mine.

Can you please stop begging in every Rock Band-related thread?

On another note, I don't know if it was mentioned, but we need some Stabbing Westward. I just started listening to them again, the first time since highschool (when they were really popular) and I forgot just how much I love their music.
anybody wanna super help out a cager with either selling me your rock band 1 super cheap so i can get the tracks or simply renting me the game????
For the cost of postage, just go and rent it...

i actually tried that, noone has it anymore. Not really begging, just asking, i have helped a few people out on these boards with some things so it never hurts to ask. I never understood why people get so pissed about post on message boards. And must of my begging is trying to buy something...

Anyone know the answer to this? What if I create a second profile/gamertag just for the living room (or office)? I know I won't get achievements in my main account, which would kinda suck, but it would let me practice when my family's asleep...

I don't know about the profile/gamertag thing though, I suppose it couldn't hurt to try using another one and just checking if the settings change or stay the same at all. I think your best bet would be to just remember or write down each different set of numbers for each setup and change it before playing every time you move it.

Is there a gamestop near you? I know they'll have a used copy, just buy it, copy the tracks, and return it before 7 days are up and you'll get a full refund

I'm not sure what week this will be released but...

Rock Band Refresh: Grateful Dead Pack
Full of greatness or just plain grating?
by Nate Ahearn
January 20, 2009 - Every Tuesday, MTV Games and Harmonix release new downloadable tracks for Rock Band on Xbox Live Marketplace for your rocking pleasure. But before they hit the 'Net, they hit the IGN offices. Each week we'll announce the new tracks alongside our impressions of the new content. So check back weekly for the latest on what's new, what's hot and what's worth a download.

A pack that will strike a particular chord with San Francisco residents (where IGN is located), Grateful Dead brings their second Rock Band offering. The pack includes six songs spanning a wide breadth of Grateful Dead tunage. Tracks range from Cold Rain and Snow from 1967 all the way up through 1987's Hell in a Bucket.

While I'm personally not a fan of Grateful Dead's brand of classic rock, there's no denying their impact on the music industry. For that reason, it's a good thing that the band has been given its due in its second Rock Band pack. While every instrument doesn't perform perfectly on the whole pack, there's at least one in each track that everyone should be able to enjoy.

Cold Rain and Snow
Price: 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99)
Difficulty: Band 3 | Guitar 2 | Drum 3 | Vocals 1 | Bass 5

One of those super-rare tracks that provides a challenge for bass players. The rest of the instruments are serviceable, but the main guitar riff gets a little repetitive over time. It's a fairly tough one, too. Like many of the tracks on this pack, Cold Rain and Snow is best enjoyed on hallucinogens.

Verdict: Possible Download

Doin' That Rag
Price: 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99)
Difficulty: Band 4 | Guitar 2 | Drum 3 | Vocals 6 | Bass 4

No doubt, this is the toughest vocal song in the pack. Singers, be warned: the odd timber and pitch of the lyrics are very tough to emulate perfectly. There's also a very tough and very long guitar solo that ends the song. Thankfully "Doin' That Rag" does a good job of differentiating itself from the rest of the pack and is one of the best of the six.

Verdict: Must Download

Don't Ease Me In
Price: 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99)
Difficulty: Band 3 | Guitar 3 | Drum 3 | Vocals 1 | Bass 4

If you can hammer-on and hammer-off, you should be fine. If you can't, you're screwed. Don't be fooled by the moderate difficulty rating for the guitar, it's pretty tough. The vocals, while not as challenging, are still fun thanks to the upbeat nature of the song.

Verdict: Must Download

Fire on the Mountain
Price: 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99)
Difficulty: Band 3 | Guitar 2 | Drum 4 | Vocals 0 | Bass 0

The drum portion, while the most difficult instrument in the song, is pretty unimaginative and repetitive, sadly. The same goes for the vocals and bass. The guitar part does a good job of working its way around the pad, but overall, "Fire on the Mountain" is unimpressive.

Verdict: Don't Download

Hell in a Bucket
Price: 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99)
Difficulty: Band 4 | Guitar 3 | Drum 4 | Vocals 6 | Bass 3

My personal favorite of the songs on this pack. Every instrument is fast and fun with the vocals providing the biggest challenge. Playing both the guitar and drums is a physical challenge with reaches and quick movements required for both. If there's one to get, in my opinion this is it.

Verdict: Must Download

Uncle John's Band
Price: 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99)
Difficulty: Band 2 | Guitar 2 | Drum 3 | Vocals 0 | Bass 1

"Uncle John's Band," like the name might indicate to some, is a pretty ho-hum song. It's about as close to singing "Kum Ba Yah" as Grateful Dead gets. The guitar has some difficult portions, but there's much to it. If you can sing soothingly then you should be able to nail the peaceful vocals.

Verdict: Possible Download

Are you serious? More of the same? How about some fucking 3 doors down (Away From The Sun as a full album would be awesome), Journey, Nickel Back, Andrew WK, Three Day's Grace, CKY, Skidrow, Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, Winger, Van Halen, Night Ranger, Queen, Pantera, The Darkness (I believe in a thing called love), and the list goes on...

The complete lack of 80's Hair metal in general though is mind blowing. It's such a great genre, I don't think there could really be enough in my opinion.

We really need to start seeing some bands that are popular and yet to be seen in RB/GH.
I'm pretty sure that is next Tuesday and it's a week that I can skip.
Same. And I concur on Three Days Grace.

Another GD pack? Looks like another week will go by without me playing RB2. When they announced "Ten" for April I said that would probably be the next time I throw in RB2. It's starting to look more and more like that will hold true.

I desperately want some Say Anything in Rock Band but who knows if that'll ever happen. They seem to make DLC for whatever they can get a easier job licensing and what not.
