Bestbuy has a separate, two week flier for music gear and they're advertising Rocksmith game bundle+ Epiphone guitar for $199.98 and you get a $50 giftcard with purchase of the game/guitar bundle.

Ad is a bit odd in that they only list sku's for the game bundle and standalone guitar (#2633103, 2633149, 2273055), so they may be doing in-store bundling. Plus they list the game + guitar bundle as a 10 savings over buying everything separate

I'll let the musician CAGs speak to the quality of the guitar;)

Like I said before, seems like they are doing an in-store bundle instead of selling the official Rocksmith guitar kit. Won't know for sure until it's bought

UPDATE #2: deal is definitely an in-store bundle of standalone guitar + game bundle. Guitar is an Epiphone LP jr with a cherryburst finish and no strap or picks are included. Asked about substituting a different guitar model but bundle price won't activate if you switch it out

Darn, I missed out on a c1 hellraiser for four fourty. Darn you amazon send me an open boxed guitar as new. Now I missed all the christmass sales waiting for you to give me what I paid for.
 
Unlocked master mode for TDG "I Hate Everything About You" last night and then got 199,836 the first time through in master... Got 200K+ the next run through. So cool to be able to pay a song all the way through, solos and all!!! I love this freaking game!
 
That Schecter Damien is a CRAZY good deal on that guitar... That's the equivalent to the Elite series, with a different inlay... MF has the same guitar (basically) at $419 (and that's with the extra $80 that goes away after Christmas. That falls into line with what the usual markdown from MSRP is on Schecters... In Amazon's case, it equals a 60% discount from MSRP, which is pretty good for a guitar of that quality...


I'm tempted to cash out my BB credit to Amazon Kindle cards and buy that guitar... Hmmm...

Some of those discounts were insane. And I also got tempted by that damien model. Not that I could play it better than my Dean. It's just a really nice looking and better guitar. But figure I should be able to find comparable deals down the road, hopefully;).

Right now, I'm a little more focused on finding a HSC and Amazon has one for $40. Just hate to buy it only to find out my guitar won't fit

Does anyone know if when musiciansfreind does a price match. Will they let you get the guitar in a different color than the price match. Also can you use online codes when doing a price match order over the phone?

I have that EXACT case. My Tele is in it. It's a pretty generic layout inside - just a middle placed gear storage and a neck cutout. The bottom and top are just open, so it should house ANY electric guitar.
 
My dad is letting me borrow his schecter for RockSmith. I'm a noob but from what i can tell it plays great alone and with the game.
 
Man i researched that damien crimson and decided to pull the trigger... along with that HSC and strings and picks and a copy of rocksmith on the 360. Expensive purchase and i even signed up for the amazon store card to be able to afford it. I really hope this thing doesnt just end up sitting in my closet collecting dust... haha
 
Anyone think the bestbuy exclusive is worth it, given that you must put up with the bb branding throughout that version?

Man, you guys are killing me. I really dig the look of the Schecter, which is why I keep checking it. But have NO justifiable reason to buy.

Someone tell me I have to buy it. I need someone to blame the purchase on:lol:

The Schecter Damien hit the #1 seller in the musical instrument section for Amazon. Wonder how many they have lying around since I just noticed it's supposed to be an Amazon exclusive model (probably because of the inlay work). Must... resist... purchase...

The BB branding shows up in the game's guitar shop. It's pretty irrelevant, unless you really despise seeing BB in the game. But if you get the normal version, the BB branding gets replaced with Guitar Center branding. So pick your poison.

So I'm an experienced player for years and play by ear very well. Where I struggle is solos by ear, and typically need to see the tabs in complex solos.

Will I find this game boring?
 
Someone on the slickdeals forum posted that the Damien has the same neck as the Schecter Hot Rod 39... i googled that and i guess it was a guitar center limited edition promo. He is right though... he is going to call Schecter and get more details on the Damien Amazon exclusive. Amazon DID adjust the price on this for me from $265 to $238 for anyone that's wondering... if you already bought it go ahead and give em a call :)
 
So the Schecter Damien on Amazon would be a very good beginner guitar? Wonder if it'll drop further? Noticed the deal on SD first and now Im here for some advice.

Just got my christmass jolly from amazon. Aparently after selling me an open boxed item missing parts no less. My replacement with one day shipping will arrive JANUARY 31 - FEBRUARY 13.

I couldnt help but laugh my ass off after reading that. I am more than a little pissed and now I got my rocksmith strap strings picks and no fn guitar.

If I call and say f that. Think there is a chance I will get something for the agravation? To say the least I have no interest in waiting that darn long to play.

I'd be pretty pissed off too. But try being polite. Remember, the customer service reps are probably really stressed and incredibly busy this time of year. Hearing from a polite customer may get you further than being angry with them.

Thats why I wanted to wait till I cooled down. Was so excited to play makes this that much more frustrating.

What should I say?

Something like.....

I dont want to wait that long. Can you give me some kind of deal to just buy a different guitar to make up for the head ache.

Hey Drastion, curious to know what model guitar you had chosen.

And yeah, ask them if they can do anything about the inconvenience since you had expected to be playing already.
 
Grrr amazon you like to tease me. So many schecter guitars but no hellraiser c1. The c7 is a bit tempting though.

Now just knock it down again like you did the damien special. Make it 460 and I will be a happy man.

But that may be a bit much for a first guitar.

It was a dean vendetta xmt Metalic black. Couldnt find that color anywhere so I was happy when I found it.

I am guessing they got a return on a beginner kit and broke it up. Because that is the only other place I saw it.

If nothing else I got to toy with it untill I got tired of waiting for the emai and just called. Didnt have anything to plug it into. It was still guite a thrill to have a real guitar in my hands and not a plastic toy with colored buttons.

Sucks about the missing parts. I know I'd be ticked if I didn't get everything

Although I gotta confess that I haven't attached the tremelo to my Dean yet. Kept hearing how it knocks it out of tune when you use it so figured I'd wait 'til I got better.

Just a note to anyone looking guitar center has $20 off a 99 order. So picking up the dean in natural is only $80. Great deal on a great guitar.

I think either would be great. This one has locking tuners and set neck both very nice things to have.

I myself ordered the damien. Really dont like the fret much but it will be my beater guitar untill I get good enough to justify a more expensive one. Pluss I wont worry so much about messing it up.

Got my reorder canceled so I could get this they said they would give me free one day shipping by refund. They better since it was $42 to have it shipped.

Hmmm. Wish I wasn't so tempted by the higher % off of the starburst. Of course, I've never played before so those extra things could be wasted on me. Gonna start drinking soon and let the Firefly decide. :cool:

But, yeah, couldn't resist the call of crimson anymore. I put in an order for the Damien this morning. Extra guitar be damned! I'll find a use for it.

Never could get it outta my head. Tipping point was a late Christmas gift, which turned out to be an Amazon gc. So real world money out of my pocket ended up at $140.

And that $2 upturn has me thinking the price bottomed out.
