RPG Thread IX is a steaming pile of pointless monologue. Just Youtube the ending!
But Cheddahz was his first account, and it seems like he wants to know why that account was banned, maybe that was his reason for creating all of the alts
I mean I don't really know. Trakan made it sound like you had accounts before Cheddahz that got banned, but obviously nobody probably knows that for sure except the mods, and you.
And now chetham is another alt? Shouldn't you have learned by now?
He keeps coming back because he doesn't know why he got banned in the first place.

Beat Sweet Home finally. I really tried not using a FAQs but halfway through I was dead stuck. I'm not sure if its the translation or its just the oldschool concept of "figure it out yourself". Not a great game but certiantly unique when it comes to old NES RPGs. There are tons of moments were if you mess up you can kiss the best ending good bye. Thank god for save state ;D

Next I'll try and finish Grandia. I forgot how long that game is. I'm about 75% done and 60 hours in. Then again I play RPGs like old people drive. SLOW

Just beat Rune Factory 3. The ending was lovely, but also a little...
anticlimactic. Why no scene of the Sharance Tree blossoming? Not enough left in the budget (or on the cart) for that? Doesn't seem like it'd be a postgame thing.
However, aside from that and the usual Harvest Moon bug or two, I loved it. This series gets better and better with each new installment. Hope to see RF Oceans come out here sooner rather than later.

Next up: I really ought to play something else, but I'm leaning toward Pokemon White.

Not confident in Deus Ex 3, not sure how much influence Square has on it either. Last interview I saw the european dudes said they let Square do the hair graphics.
But yeah the story looks kind of dumb.

XIII-2 is going to be too good, no way a fall release though. And I'm not even hyped for Versus though it has all the evidence of being Square's best game this gen.

Did someone mention Grandia?? Perhaps one of my favorite RPG's. I don't remember it being long...but when I consider how long some of those dungeons got, I can see it. I still haven't beat the Tower of Temptation, it's the one secret dungeon I didn't have the patience for. Getting the accessory that halves SP use, turns Justin into a killing machine. 45 SP for an attack that does up to 1600 damage? Yes please.

You mean the Heaven & Earth attack. Yeah it's a beast considering I got it fairly early in the game and I have the item that cuts SP in half.

Took a couple pics. Thought you all might like this stuff. Some Earthbound figures in the back.

I bought these Chrono Trigger figures. I'm trying not to buy any toys and figures while I'm over here. I have no space back at home but I couldn't help it. These were just too cool.

I ended up with these two:

Nice on getting the Chrono+Marle figure, BTW. That one was exclusive to the Japanese blind boxes.

If you like those asian single player MMO-like games where you kill shit and get crazy weapons, then I hear PSP2 is pretty great.

Those kind of games always make me feel super lonely though.

I dislike other people, so it might work out well for me. :D

I loved the original PSO on Dreamcast, but I haven't played the series since.. Assuming it's a pretty similar experience, I think I'll enjoy it.
Has anyone played Phantasy Star Portable I and II? How do they do as single player games?
Own? Yes...played...no

i played psp2, it's okay. i heard it was gonna be like pso so i was all excited but it's just like psu which sucked.

i only played single player because apparently everyone on multi was already high level. it's not as easy to pick up and play online as pso was.

Been playing the Lunar remake for the PSP and it's great. It's relaxing to just play an old school RPG for a few hours after I get off work. Much better than dealing with fools on Black Ops.

I really wanted the Chrono/Magus figure. Also saw a ton of FFXIII, Dissida, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, Abyss, Vesperia figures. I forgot to take pics but if I go back I'll get them. I really liked the Abyss set.

The one with Magus is my personal fave in the set, and I'm not much of a Magus fan.

If the Abyss set is the same one I'm thinking of, yeah, those do look really cool. I don't have any Tales figures, but I'd like a nice one of Kratos from Symphonia.

I've been picking up a decent amount of Dragon Quest stuff lately. My favorite recent releases are the Stacking Slime sets (as seen here and here).

There's supposed to be new Disgaea (Etna and Flonne) and Megaten (Jack Frost) Nendoroids in the works. Can't wait for those

I hate the mystery box concept, I never have any luck with them. I never get the one I want, and often get the one that I didn't want.

If I get a Tales figure I want Jade. There's a place here that has a ton of tings out of bog, but I wasn't able to find what I wanted.

Finally made it up to GS last night to pick up my copy of FFIV Complete. Sadly it will probably stay in the plastic until I finish up Crimson Gem Saga.

You cannot contain its awesomeness!!

Though I admit I just took a break. I'm trying to grind out until I get reflect so I can go fight Asura. I'm 35 or so right now (just got Float), so know I'm pretty close. Just tired of the grinding. (been doing it since level 32)
Gah, my UK version of FFIV needs to hurry up and get here before I break down and go out and buy the American one.
Do it!!!
Do it!!!
I probably will eventually thanks to my obsessive need to own every version of that game ever released. Considering I already own two Japanese versions (SFC, GBA) in a language I can't even read, owning two different English copies of the same version won't be a stretch.

I envy all of you who have the chance to play that FF4 collection. I have a super slim hope that it'll be released on the PSN eventually but I'm not holding my breath or anything. Tempted to buy FF4 on the GBA. Was that a decent port?
Tempted to buy FF4 on the GBA. Was that a decent port?
It was indeed. All three of the GBA ports were quite good.

I've pretty much settled on Clash of Heroes for my next game. Wanted to play something different for a change.
I hate the mystery box concept, I never have any luck with them. I never get the one I want, and often get the one that I didn't want.
Yeah, it can be a crapshoot, which is why I typically buy by the case (though now I'm part of a group at a figure collecting site that shares cases). Even then, depending on the set, you might not get all the figures. I've found this happening with the DQ blind box cases I've gotten >_

Just picked up Magna Carta 2 for $24 on Amazon, seemed like an okay price and I've been looking for a new JRPG on 360 (can't bring myself to restart Lost Odyssey or Eternal Sonata after putting them down for so long).

Don't get your hopes up, Magna Carta 2 was pretty brutal in my opinion. Hopefully you can find some enjoyment in it though.

I enjoyed it, plus it is the rare J-RPG you can 100% in a single play. The DLC will also decrease the difficulty dramatically if you get stuck. (you get uber weapons from the start)

Yeah, I'm planning to pick up the DLC right from the get-go.

It also makes it easier to save all your skill points until you are mid-50 or 60's (I forgot which), then save, max out the weapon you don't want to use, get the achievement, then reload your save and max the one you plan to stick with.

Thanks. Any other tips you've got, I'm all ears. I'm planning on going for the 1240/1240, unless it turns out that I hate the game or whatever.

Get yourself a quest guide so you don't miss any. I found a good one that I just printed up (about 3 pages) and guided you to each quest as you went through the story (and was spoiler free).

Also keep a save file before boss fights, they are the only things you may find challenging in the middle (since you are savings your skill points).

Also start Chain Breaking ASAP, do it on every enemy even if you don't have to, so you hit 500 by the end.

That is about it. For all the weapon achs jsut make sure to buy everything at each store. (I got it without even having a guide for any of them, you'll get the non-buy onse from the quests generally)

I have been bored with my Xbox lately, going to try and finish up DA:O and then might go back and finish Lost Odyssey, not too sure though yet

I'm ultra sexy green PSP arrived today from some random dude on ebay. I was a little skeptical on it's condition at first, seeing how the dude wasn't shipping anything but the PSP and two half broken games, but the thing is almost like new. I only notice one dentage on the side.

Anyways, to make this relevant, FFIV here I come!

fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. fucking ball sack. *insert random string of turrets worthy swearing

Vesperia was just starting to really grab me, but what happens when I turn on my 360 tonight? RROD  And of course the fucker is out of warranty (even the 3 year extended RROD warranty) :bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb:

Does it beat my AKB 48 PSP!?

@Ryuukisha

I recently finished up Magna Carta 2 and I really enjoyed it. I didn't get all of the achievements, but I plan on playing through it again sometime, so I'll get the rest then.

@ZMonkay

That really sucks.

Well $100 or whatever is cheaper then buying a new one. Ship the bastard in.

I think if mine RROD'd at this point I'd probably bite the bullet and buy a slim, but then I've already had to replace it once (and my PS3 twice), so I'm kind of over that.
