[Rumor] Just called Gamecrazy, they confirmed Xbox 360 bundle is true.

I could be wrong, but I just got off work at gamecrazy and I haven't heard anything about this deal.
Considering you're getting more than $200 worth of extra stuff compared to the Core, this is an unbelievable deal.
That's kind of a confusing arguement to make. If it was $299, I'd completely agree with you.

The only other bundles MS would put together within game is Kameo or PDZ being those are the only MS games out right now. That is why you wont see anything really special unless maybe a double game like PDZ with Kameo.

Microsoft did several Xbox bundles with third party games...

Sega GT/Jet Set Radio Future
Star Wars:Clone Wars/ Tetris Worlds
NCAA Football/Top Spin(Microsoft published)

so non-MS titles aren't an impossibilty.
Sony fanboy...
Nintendo actually.

I'll buy a PS3 at some point but I won't be in a hurry. I'll wait for a major price drop a couple years from now. There's just nothing on the Xbox I want to play that I can't play on the PS2, so I'm sure there'll be nothing on the Xbox360 that I can't play on the PS3. There's not a single Xbox 360 game out right now that I'd play for free, let alone pay for.

I'm not into games like Halo or any of the other Xbox exclusive titles. I like turn-based strategy, puzzle games, and any type of weird Japanese game like Odama. I play my DS more than any of my consoles anyway. Out of my 50 or so Xbox games, I think the only ones I've ever played more than once are Worms, DDR, Karaoke Revolution, and a couple other games that are available on PS2. About half my games are still sealed.

on that note, i LOVED Marble Blast Ultra. i couldn't stop playing it for the entire week it took to beat it. short, but definitely sweet. the Easter Eggs were a nice bonus, and a dirty whore of an achievement.

Hexic was excellent, and free as well.

With this Premium bundle, you get the HDD, HD Component Cables, a wireless controller, a headset, PGR3, 1250 Marketplace points, and 4 months of Xbox Live. (And an ethernet cable.)

That's $100 + $40 + $50 +$20 + $50 + ~$15 + ~$20.

The Core gives you a wired controller and composite cables. Even if you don't include the wireless controller, that's still well over $200.
Dont tell me you were thinking that when you bought the 360, you thought it would retail at 399.99 forever or that M$ would never try to sweeten the deal.
Beavis, that was kind of the point I was making... looking at how soon it had price dropped and bundled.......*as cartman* derrrrrrr

All I know is that if this bundle hits Meijer and they have one of their massive savings events or whatnot, I'd be all over it.

And I'd prefer a price drop myself but, eh, starting out with some MS points, an extention to my Live account, a game and the usual bells and whistles is good enough for me.

Great Value for this new package!...but unlike some people have said I don't (and probably neither does MS) view this as a price drop.

The game, xbox live sub and points don't really cost MS much...they are almost freebies that they are giving away with each box sold.

i dont believe it will be in all stores or at least it isnt advertised in the circuit city ad for 8/6/06-8/13/06 im just to lazy to type all that is advertised sorry

Rictor, you do seem kind of like an annoying fanboy. Your line about not playing the games for free... Now *that's* priceless. Of course, if you have such an opinion, you really have no place posting in this thread and annoying the rest of us.

Of course they are going to do a bundle now. They were waiting to release it a week after I bought one. I just picked one up on Monday...

1250 is a bit of an odd number isn't it?

Good move on M$s part, but if they really want to upstage Sony, why not drop the price alltogether on PS3 launch day. Hell it could even be a one-time "360 day" sale, stealing away some of Sony's thunder.

Pretty good deal. Out of all the racers out for the 360, PGR3 still takes the cake for the best racer. But with Forza and other racers around the corner my opinion could change. Regardless, your getting a hell of a deal throwing in a free extra game and some MS points to buy you that overpriced SF Live port (Which I'll be getting regardless of the price) and a few free months to get people on Live, while MS can continue to claim tons of people are on Live.

picked up a used 360 with hard drive for $300, so I should be good, and will pick up PGR when it goes down for liek $20 used now that it is packed in it will drop down in price tons.

Rumor: MS to Lower Xbox 360 Price
7/27/2006 11:55:55 AM

Sources out of Taiwan indicate that Microsoft is looking to lower production costs of the Xbox 360 to compete with the PlayStation 3 this holiday season.

A report from DigiTimes Systems states that Microsoft is rumored to be lowering the price of the Xbox 360 to compete with Sony's PlayStation 3 release later this year. The rumors come from a Taiwan-based OEM component maker stating that Microsoft has negotiated reduced production costs for the Xbox 360 of up to 15-20%. A reduction in production costs comes via diminishing costs for most components as well as increasing production scales and decreasing defect rates.

While it's not hard to believe that Microsoft is looking for ways to reduce the production costs of the Xbox 360, a price drop seems extremely unlikely. As it currently stands, the Xbox 360 will be $100-200 cheaper than the PlayStation 3 when Sony's console releases in November. This is in addition to the first mover advantage Microsoft gained when it launched the Xbox 360 last year.

Microsoft has also stated that the company has yet to make a profit from the Xbox 360, but that it expects to in the future. It's widely known that Microsoft loses money on every Xbox 360 console sold, even with the $400 premium package. Therefore a 15-20% reduction in production costs would only server to provide Microsoft with a small profit on each console at the very most. It's not hard to imagine that even with the cost reduction the company may still lose money on each console sold.

It's no surprise that Microsoft would be seeking to lower the production cost of the Xbox 360. It's also no secret that the price of the console will drop over time. However, a price drop coming only a year after the launch of the console seems very much out of the question for Microsoft.

DigiTimes Systems cites that Microsoft Taiwan has denied the report, stating that it was simply misinformation. For the time being that seems to be the most likely source of the rumor. However, on the opposite side of the coin, if Microsoft was indeed planning to reduce the price of the Xbox 360 this holiday season, it could potentially have a severe impact on the sales of the PlayStation 3. With both the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 retailing for significantly lower prices than the PS3, Sony would be in a dire marketing position to move consoles.

Yah, I don't think the PS3 systems are gonna be collecting dust on the shelves this Christmas considering people were shelling out $600+ on Ebay for Xbox 360s last year. Plus, there's a lot of people interested in owning a Blu-ray player, and the PS3 lets kill two birds with one stone.

I sure as hell don't plan on paying $600 or even $400 for a console though. I may grab one if I can flip a couple hundred dollars worth of games into $600 Gamerush store credit though...definitely isn't impossible if we get another batch of $8 games that trade in for $24 like we have in the past.

Ya know, this might make me get an xbox 360... Its just such a great deal! And since I'm uberly pissed off at sony for saying things like "the ps3 will sell because its sony" and "600 is too cheap" I'm kinda grinning seeing the 360 put in a package deal at the same price that was at launch.

And I wouldn't be surprised if this was used as mud slinging campain. One good example, "sure you could buy a ps3, and spend almost a grand after games and all, But you could spend half and get a game with it" I wouldn't be surprised if ppl would start doing that to try and knock sony off its tower of egoism, lol.

And speaking of mud slinging, even though it already looks like M$ and Nintendo will be teaming up to try and take sony down a couple notches. Wouldnt it be funny if nintendo also sets their own bundle package at launch or even in a few months, to try and eiffel tower sony? Not that I'm a sony hater, its just thier ego.

But anyway, damn good deal!
Not that I'm a sony hater, its just thier ego.
i think we all feel you on that one.

great deal. my brother has been waiting for a deal like this.

So if I get one of these is it gonna die after a few days or did they fix those problems yet???

I might be interested the ps3 price is way to high and if we support this then logicly ps3 will drop as well.

I really would love to pull the trigger on this deal, but as of games out right now, I only see Oblivion as a "must play" game for me. I've been salivating over the game since it was announced, and I've seen no reason to stop (Morrowind, for all it's flaws, was one of my favorite games of it's generation).

If it was packed in, I think I would jump. But, with a huge backlog of games, I can afford to wait for a bit.

how can you call THAT a price drop..

they keep the same price, and give you a bunch of sh!t microsoft either makes, or can give you for free.
Can someone please link to me an english website that shows this deal in detail? I just barely ordered my 360 from dell and now i'm pissed. I want to call them and make them give a better deal, but they will want proof of my claims.
I did post about it MULTIPLE times in that topic in which it was posted and it was posted multiple times in other topics on this site...

Yeah its not a pricedrop at all. Microsoft still get the same amount of money from you, but you do get some nice free stuff. At least you have a game to play when you get home.

And the free 4 months of Live is really a smart move. Its like a drug dealer hooking you up for free the first couple times. I can see lots of people getting hooked on Live in those free months and then signing up for the full year for $75 or whatever it costs.

This is a great bundle for anyone who was thinking of getting a 360, but I dont think its enough to change anyones mind who wasnt planning on getting one.

I will be getting either a PS3, or a 360 right around the time GTA4 comes out. And at that time, whoever offers me the best deal will sell a console. If I had to pick one today I'd get a 360 over a PS3, but the PS3 isnt even out yet so you really cant compare.

 • 4 months free of Live
 • 1250 Live points
 • PGR3

Okay so I just called GOD, its confirmed he'll be back on this tuesday, we are goin out for drinks.....

Since when are we taking gamecrazy,BB,CC or any other stores word over "official" announcements? This thread should be titled RUMOR until its actually confirmed.......sheesh. If we listened to store employees we would be in some serious rumour infested pile of dung, I love listening to employees tell consumers misinformation when I am in the stores.
fuck... the system has been out for less than a year and they are already throwing in extras? When the PS2 was 15 months old it was still $299 and did not come with a game. The Xbox 360 will barely only be 10 months old and its already seeing a sort of price drop.
Well, MS did drop the price of the original XBox by $50 just 6 months after launch. It's just how MS does things I guess.

The 360 is starting to look a lot better than a PS3 to me. I'm still going to wait awhile since I have a backlog but it might be sooner than later now.

If I wasn't just now getting a modded Xbox from my friend as a gift, I might be more intrigued by this :D Give me a real price drop and we'll talk.

Oh im sorry its actually gonna be next friday....GOD called with an update

PS- Thanks for the thread title update ;-)

Hopefully Nintendo would do a bundle package like this, and holding no lies, I'm a big nintendo geek. But instead of doing it in a couple months, do it straight at launch. And what game should they be bundling with the Wii? The new mario game coming out (the name escapes me for the moment, something about space, lol)

But if nintendo does that, that would bring me back to the good 'ol days when the NES came out.

The problem is Nintendo would make more money in the long run by selling Mario on its own, or any game that has any real potential. If they were to include something, it'd probably be a casual/downloadable game, like how the 360 Premium comes with Hexic.

Big whoop, or could be seen as Microsoft packing in a big incentive (yes a free game does make an impact) to buy their console. One could look at Sony as trying to gank the last penny out of the consumer to the very last possible second.

Really, PGR3 can't be selling well enough now to warrant continued, exclusive sales of it being full retail price. Throw the sucker in with the console, discs are so damn easy to produce, and weigh practically nothing.

I get your point, I just think you're being too cynical. A company packing in a free game is a bad thing... think about that logic :p

There is no chance of Super Mario Galaxy being bundled with the Wii, because SMG will be released in 2007. Many people expect Wii Sports to be bundled with the Wii though because it is such a simple game and could get people hooked on te Wii.
Ony Topic: I really hope this deal is true....
IT isnt advertised in any ads so far.... im sort of skeptical.
Yea, you think CC or Target would have put it in this week's ads, or at least next week, on the front page.

Oh, I didn't know it wasn't gonna be here by launch. That kinda blows. Cuz Mario is what sells for nintendo. Sure we're gonna get zelda, but IMO thats for the hardcore fans. Mario is for more of the laid back casual fans, I guess. But thx for pointing that out to me!

Are there any game store employees that can confirm or deny this? Sounds like a bunch of third-hand information to me.
