Where the fuck have I been? Normally I hear about movies going into filming etc etc but this one totally slipped under my radar. Only reason I found out was a news story about Jackie getting hurt on the set while filming it.

Yea this one has been in the works for a while now. I remember something about Chris Tucker trying to get editing rights or something and it pissed people off.

I heard that Jean Claude Van Dam was being rumored to play the villain or a villain. Would love to see this come to fruition. JCVD vs. Jackie would be awesome.

Yeah, Rush Hour 3 had some issues with Chris Tucker's demands. This will probably be the last one. I really like the series. I hope Jackie is ok.

Actually I read that too but the director denied that rumor on ign.com.

I personally think Max Von Sydow is a much more interesting villian; He's is after all one of the greatest actors of all time.

Korean action movies blow anything jackie chan has down right out of the water. Take a look at Ong Bak, Oldboy, Lady Vengance, Natural City... They speak for themselves IMO. But that is next thread I guess, lol

Ong Bak is a Thai movie. I haven't seen natural city but Oldboy and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance are in a completely different category. Even the action is completely different as they go more for shock value instead of Jackie Chan's comedic style of fighting

The attraction of Jackie Chan's movies, at least to the American audience, is that they're just fun. Sure the storyline is shallow and filled with plot holes but it's hard not to like.

If you're trying to compare his movie to those listed above action wise, then I take it you haven't seen his older movies. Check out snake in eagle's shadow, drunken master, Police Story, and especially Gorgeous. The final fight alone was worth the 10 bucks I paid for it.
