Korean action movies blow anything jackie chan has down right out of the water. Take a look at Ong Bak, Oldboy, Lady Vengance, Natural City... They speak for themselves IMO. But that is next thread I guess, lol
Ong Bak is a Thai movie. I haven't seen natural city but Oldboy and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance are in a completely different category. Even the action is completely different as they go more for shock value instead of Jackie Chan's comedic style of fighting
The attraction of Jackie Chan's movies, at least to the American audience, is that they're just fun. Sure the storyline is shallow and filled with plot holes but it's hard not to like.
If you're trying to compare his movie to those listed above action wise, then I take it you haven't seen his older movies. Check out snake in eagle's shadow, drunken master, Police Story, and especially Gorgeous. The final fight alone was worth the 10 bucks I paid for it.
