What do you have to do to get the professional thief achievement?
I'm wondering this as well...

and great I'm missing 1 CD out of 60 and I have no fucking idea where it is

ok, im fuckin stuck on this carnales mission. The one where youre supposed to plant the bombs in the plant. I dont know where to go anymore after i planted the first like 3. How the hell do i get to the top of the plant??!
zewone you are 100% correct.

*Spoilers*

I came to that conclusion when I read the manual, one of the missions were Trojan horse, he was the only smoker, and how do you think he knew some of the stuff he said. Like when the rollers were coming after Saint's row to burn it to the ground. Your main guy was not a cop no fucking way he was a nobody to start with and knew nothing. Also with the badge at the end it's a dead
give away that Troy was an undercover cop.
Did no one read my conclusion a couple pages ago? Almost everything yo u guys said has been repeated.

There's this weird railing if you're outside if you're as high as you can go, it kind of zig zags up (or down can't remember) it's to one side of the roof, from there plant the last bomb and get down quickly

umm, i have no idea where that is. Go to the roof through the building right?

Yes. You see up where the indicator is at the top. The way to get up there is not on that building.

It's on the broken down railing next to it.
What do you have to do to get the professional thief achievement?

And out of all the activities, what would you suggest to be the best one to finish up first? Or is it better to make some headway with a few of the other gang missions?

I'm still working on Vice Kings missions exclusively.
Professional Thief is robbing 30 safes. It's easy to do if you use a car. There's a forgive and forget in the SW corner of the map, north of the airport. That was my starting point, I would usually hit the CD shop first, then the gun store and so on and would probably do 5 or so hits a night.

Only thing is that cops will sometimes be waiting for you inside a store so a shotgun will come in handy.

Hitman, I've said it a thousand times but the weapons you get are invaluable and make the rest of the game alot less difficult.

Right now I am at about 43 hostages, so I've almost got that achievement (taking 50 hostages) and I'm at 40 / 60 CD's. I'm getting there ;)

Going to go for tags right now so I can get that bonus for doing them all.
I'm having this problem too... does anyone have a map of the CD's? All I've got is a list telling me where they are but the list is VERY inaccurate at times, and worst case scenario it's just downright wrong.

Yeah, my problem is I have the map, and I went to all 60 locations so I think I've been everywhere, well it looks like I'll have to go through all 60 locations again... :(

A tip to people that might be starting this game, DO NOT touch the CD's til you get a map, otherwise it'll be a pain, or if you want to be adventurous go for it i guess...

I got 16 CD's without a map, when I got my list and I went to that location and the CD was gone, I assumed I already grabbed it.

Yeah that was my problem the one I didn't get, I probably thought I already got

Oooh, nice map. I'll probably have to stick with activities exclusively for quite a while. I get constant freezes with the game. Makes it a pain in the ass to do missions.

Was doing the "Return of the King" Vice Kings mission and after all the horrendous foreplay of getting into the gunplay in the penthouse, I get to the upper floors and the game freezes.

BTW, has anyone ever had this "haze" effect go on with the whole screen. It blurs the whole screen except for the HUD. I can't figure out if it's when I'm really low on health and I take a drink of something to try and recover health, or it's the graphics chip on my 360 giving up.

Thats what happens when you drink alcohol in the game. Try uppercutting someone when the screen is like that.

"One of these days Alice, one of these days"
Yeah that was my problem the one I didn't get, I probably thought I already got
I'm doing that shit now... going over each spot I've already been to just to get the last CD. It's very annoying.

fucking Mayhem missions. I'm stuck on level 6 for 2 different Mayhems. Its freakin annoying because I'll either get good unlimited weapons and a shitty place to rack up the score or an excellent place to rack up the score and absolutely horrible weapons like the pistol, the weakest shotgun, and/or the molotov cocktail.

Max out on rockets before starting the mayhems.

Once you get to levels 7 and 8 you get unlimited rockets, which was one of my favorite parts of the game.

I was wondering how I could possibly pass levels 7 and 8 if level 6 was this tough but now that I know you get unlimited rockets on 7 and 8, I'm actually excited to play it.

If you get a really shitty bonus like the pistol, just press down on the D-Pad to cancel the mission and then restart it.
If you get a really shitty bonus like the pistol, just press down on the D-Pad to cancel the mission and then restart it.
Yeah that's what I started doing toward the end. I also got pretty good with the other weapons too actually so it was worth it. I ended up beating all 3 Mayhem mission sets and unlocked the rocket launcher in my weapon's cache. It was definetly worth all the work to be able to get 5 rockets whenever I want for free.

Finally found all the CD's last night, as well as grabbing the 50 hostages needed for the achievement. I'm almost at 1 million dollars earned too thanks to the Titan trick.

Get a Titan, store it in your garage, blow it up in the garage so all the money stays there, and then respawn a new one. You'll get about 10,000 each time, if you're lucky. I use the Westside Rollerz garage.

Hijacking missions are stupid as hell, too, but easy when you got homies with AK's. I've got two of those done, one left to do, then racing, tags, and finishing the game, and I'm 100% with all the achievements for single player, which is awesome.

The unlockable songs are badass, espically the last one you get by David Banner.

need help with the hitman missions....i have found 23 out of the 24...i think the guys name is bill...he is the fbi guy i believe...you need to shoot him from a helicopter...any tips on getting to a level 5 and then killing him

If it's Bill, the FBI guy, just grab a rocket launcher or alot of gun and just start blowing the shit out of cop cars, then the helicopter. You'll get to five stars extremely fast.

If it's John, he's in the helicopter, get to four stars and either a) start shooting them with the McManus sniper rifle, you'll eventuall get him or b) wait for the helicopter to land and drop off the SWAT troops and then shoot him with the McManus.

Or you could do any of the sidequests that start out with a five star police rating, like drug trafficing.

At least I know that it's on the south island... that's about the only good thing, yeah only 42 or 43 locations to look through... How's the David Banner song?

The David Banner song is awesome. It's got to be my favorite song on the soundtrack.

A question for others, does the music you unlock in single player, can you use it in multi?

Oh, and a tip for the racing activities - use a slow, big car. I thought "Hey, I'll use the Fer De Lance, the fastest car in the game, should be a breeze!" but the game scales the other racers to your car, and they are agressive and try to spin you off the road.

A big + slow car means other people will slow and their aggressiveness won't affect you as much... I finished the Rollerz racing so far with ease, went straight from 1 - 8 and was done.

I paid $49.99 at Fry's, ending today. Bought it the week it came out though and then later pricematched. Definitely worth $60 to me though, also.
A big + slow car means other people will slow and their aggressiveness won't affect you as much... I finished the Rollerz racing so far with ease, went straight from 1 - 8 and was done.
Yeah, I use an ambulance and it seems to work well most of the time, they'll put you against vans and stuff that aren't quite as fast.

So close to the $3000 dress pants...

...what's sad is, I'm getting the black ones so half the time they'll look like any other pants in the game. But it's a matter of principle. I'm determined to have a professional "workday" attire for this game.
Yeah, I use an ambulance and it seems to work well most of the time, they'll put you against vans and stuff that aren't quite as fast.
Yea, it's stupid, it ruins the whole point of racing where you've got to use a big slow car. I used the Fer De Lance a few times and you go so fast that as soon as you get hit by another racer, you spin out, are facing the wrong direction, and the race is pretty much over.

So here is my status update:

I'm about 60,000 short of 1 million for that achievement.

I finished all the Hijacking missions, the rewards are pretty sweet, the trick to those is to shoot the DRIVER and not the CAR. If you can kill the driver you can just hop right in the car. I finished most Hijacking missions in under 5 minutes this way, no long drawn out chases.

All I have left is 1 racing mission in Los Carnales, the tags in Los Carnales, and finishing the story and I've got 100%!

So, am I he only person who still has this SEALED still ;)

I just haven't had a chance to play it....been trying to finish Dead Rising and now Madden has updated rosters. Oh well, I will EVENTUALLY get to this.

Believe it or not, my Dead Rising is still sealed. It's next on the list to play after Saints Row. I'm trying to get 100% in one game before I move on to the next.
As far as the Titan goes, you get one for beating all of the Hijacking missions. Here's what I did when I needed money, it's a bit more streamlined.

1. Go to the Carnales Mansion once you acquire it.
2. Retrieve Titan, but don't take it out from the Garage.
3. Shoot two rockets while it's still in there.
4. Wait for it to explode.
5. Immediately retreive another new car from your garage.
6. Walk in there and grab all the money.
7. Repair Titan for $500 and repeat.

The reason for step 5 is so you can avoid having money get stuck inside of the hull of the Titan and avoid the burning wreckage. It works really well once you get the plat RPG because it holds twice as much as the regular luancher and you can reload inside the mansion.

Oh yah, you guys doing the tagging missions are in for a treat. The game loves to make the spray HUD disappear after you initiate a spray(the one that gives you the directions for the tag) so you'll track down a tag and have to guess what the sequence is. It's actually doable by trial and error but it's a colossal pain in the ass. The good thing is that a lot of the time it was just a "A A A A" tag.

In case you guys haven't seen it yet, here's the map I used to track them down and a description of the locations courtesy of the awesome guys at the 360 achievement forums and an inverted version that might be more printer friendly.

The numbers aren't actually that accurate, the actual locations are the pink spray cans besides (or under) them.

This needs to be stickied in the OP or something, this was a HUGE help.

FINALLY picked up this game today since I now have a 360 which works the majority of the time. Anyway, instead of going through 37 pages, I was wondering if someone could tell me if there's a CAG gang or a group of people who play online frequently? Haven't had a chance to play this yet, but I can't wait to try this out.

Woot, finally got all tags! 96% done.

I'm going to go on record and say that, in the end, this game blows away GTA. For every side event, finishing all three locations at level 8 provides something awesome and definitely worth getting. The only one I can see that is kind of a let down is drug trafficing, but all the other rewards are WELL worth going through all the sidequests. I never bothered with the GTA sidequests because they were boring and usually not worth it, imo, but in this game I loved finishing a sidequest just to see what reward I would get.

The racing clothes you get from finishing all the Hijacking missions are pimp.... same with the armored Titan.

in regards to the tag map info. i made a pdf with locations and the printable map. its ~1.37M though. anywhere i can post it for people?

edit: cd's as well

Same here-- I know we are waiting for the patch to come out before we start the offical CAG gang up, but was wondering who is currently playing the game, as I've just got a 360 and looking to get some friends on LIVE to game with.

Anyone think the places 'under construction' will turn into new mission sites?

Back to the task at hand, I'm at 96% with only the CD's and tags to hunt. I'll do it in stages.
