The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

Xbox 360 Core - $210 (Unconfirmed, YMMV)

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!

Does anyone have the Sears Product ID # for the 360 core? I'd like to see if I can still check store availability with the PID even the system isn't displayed online.

I saw a brand new Xbox with Forza at my local Sears. I didn't chek the price. Are these getting discounted at all?

Man, my Sears games section was a MESS! It's almost like they gave up on trying to keep it in order and the games were literally all over the place. It's pretty hard to find anything there but I did PM Loco Roco with CC.

One more thing: if you don't see any 360s in the cases, ask the electronics customer service rep. Mine had Xboxes in the back, just no cores.

I don't know if they're discounted at Sears, but if you want an Xbox the one you saw is one of the few new ones left in the wild. I would say pounce before it's gone if you want one and I'm guessing it is discounted considering how long it's been since it's been out of production and that other stores like KMart have discounted them.
Seen the metroid Cube bundle at my Sears, are these clearanced?
Yeah, $30 was reported I think. Or was that just the gamecube? It never hurts to get a price check guys.
Yeah, $30 was reported I think. Or was that just the gamecube? It never hurts to get a price check guys.
Is that a recent drop? I had one checked a few months ago and it still rang up at $100.

I know its rare (being new). I will get a price check Monday. Already owning a 360, keeps my need for it down. But, if the price is right, I will buy it.
Anyone seen DS Animal Crossing recently? Last time I saw it the clearance price was $30
Check the OP before asking...I just updated it yesterday because some one found it for $19.97.
This is something I've never understood about these giant clearance lists at major retailers.

You guys in middle America must have amazing stores that stock all these games, because out here in LA, and probably all major cities, when I go to places like Toys R Us, KMart, Target, Sears, Best Buy etc for these clearance games listed, even if it's within a few days of the list coming out, they don't have anything. I mean NOTHING.
Oh, the other thing to keep in mind is that by the time a Sears or K-Mart clearance game reaches the dirt cheap prices like $1.97, they've been on clearance for months or even a year. Usually a $50 game will start on maybe $39.97 and drop once a month from there. A lot of times at busier stores, the games will sell at the barely discounted price or sell before they have to be clearanced.

Here in Indiana, I find dirt cheap games fairly often, but they are usually tagged at full price still. If the stores tag them correctly, they usually sell before they get that cheap. Occasionally I'll find $1.97 games tagged correctly at K-Mart though...even at Christmas I found a ton of $1.97-3.97 DS and PSP games at K-Mart that everyone was ignoring.

I went to the sears in Blasdell new york. They had like 7 of the Metroid Prime Gamecube bundles and had them do a price check and it rang up at 99.99 thought for sure it would be on sale since these systems are sooo old

i think the one that might be on clearance is the regular GC. and also, sears has a outlet on ebay, they often put things there that doesn't sell. i saw a pokemon xd gc bundle once. those could also be clearanced but not for sure since all the sears around me do not have them anymore.
LoL sorry but I live in Wisconsin just outside of Milwaukee and I have just as hard of a time finding these games on these big lists at the major stores..

One important fact especially if it's a nationwide sale at every store those titles that get put on the list go on sale, but if the store doesnt have it to begin with anymore they are not going to magically appear. If the list is put out and you have it in stock you sell it at that price if you dont have it oh well then your workers in the electronics department have less to do and more time to playGuitar Hero....

Me personally have not hit anywhere as close to the hauls that some of these other people have found.
One other thing you have to remember about the people living in smaller areas is that we don't have as many of the same stores as you do and what we do have is spread out a little more so they do get hit just as hard seeing there is not as many places to go..

thanks
What he said. I live near KC- a pretty large sized market but nothing like a LA or NY or where I used to live in Houston. There's a really fine line to gind good deals. Stuff in KC gets picked over- there are tons of ebayers and quite a few CAG'ers.

Lawrence, where I live, is even worse, possibly the worst CAG demographic area- it's a midwest college town. There are less than 100K people but the Target, Best Buy, EB Games, and WalMart are cleared out long before anyone can get to them because there are more people with less money and more time and a fairly tech savvy population. Hello, ebay hoarders- the guys at BB talk about how on every clearance day there are more than 5 people with lists every time practically fighting to get the most stuff.

Personally, I have the most luck with out of the way "towns" of ~100K-500K. Big enough to have lots of stores, but small enough that the hoarder population is fairly low. But, of course, your mileage may vary. Also, I'm just looking for single copies of games to play and for my collection. If your goals are to "hoard up", I would think fighting for scraps in a big city would be best because there just aren't 10 copies of anything, no matter how crappy, to try to snag in smaller places.

Hey, folks -- I don't think it's been verified, so I can proudly (at least I think) confirm that the Xbox 360 Core is on clearance.

I found a Sears Essentials on Route 46 in NJ that gets almost no traffic, and they still had at least one Core system on clearance for $209 -- it was stickered with the price and the clearance price was on the shelf, although they had the consoles themselves by the customer service desk up front. I also managed to dig around and find the old Xbox Live package (for the original Xbox with Crimson Skies) on clearance for $10. I poked around and asked about a few more things; the hard drive is sadly still full retail, but I noticed that the 64MB memory card is only $29.99 (I think it's $39.99 normally), and also the Motorola Head Coach headset was on sale for $20 (normally $60 or $70, I think).

Now I just need to convince my wife that it was a good enough bargain. :) Long live CAG!

i wish the old XBL 12 month cards were on clearance. still $49

Hey Lunker that must be the same Sears Essential I go to near the Shoprite.
I never saw a 360 Core there but I did pick up an Xbox Live Starter Kit for 10 there. The codes still work on the 360. Oh well catch ya later.

Picked up Mario Baseball for $19 today.

Wasn't marked, but had them price check it and was surprised to find it $10 off normal retail. I took the last one in Akron.

oh yeah... Advance Wars DS score at my local Sears... still have one on my trade list Id trade for Mario vs DK GBA

I think so -- right by where 46 and 80 intersect? That place is completely dead -- it almost looks abandoned from the outside. I had no idea it was there, but now it's gonna be my first stop for clearance pickups. :)

They don't have any of the systems on the shelf, but I asked and the employee walked me up to the customer service desk by the front, where they have all of them in lockup. It might even be easier just to ask at the desk itself.

They also had at least three or four of the Famicom 20th Anniversary GB Micros -- they're above the shelf displays on the back wall.

Yeah That's usually my first stop. Then I go to the other sears at the Willowbrook Mall, but I think they are locking all the games in the case now.

Hey, FYI make sure you're careful if you get anything from that Sears Essentials -- I had a hell of a shock on Sunday.

I decided to open that Core 360 system that I bought, and I found out that the box was already opened (and closed with scotch tape) and a broken, dirty Premium system instead of my brand-new Core. I was fuming! I had to go back and bitch them out for 30-40 minutes, but they did exchange my unit for a brand-new factory sealed one (and I even tested it out in the store that time). They don't accept returns, so I'm sure it was one of the employees who must have swapped it out.

Mine works like a charm, but just be careful.

Picked these up recently:

King Kong (GBA) - $5.97
King Kong (GC) - $7.97
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland CE (PS2) - $14.97

I'll try and remember as much as possible:

DBZ Budokai PS2 - $2.97
Downhill Domination - $3.97
Star Wars KOTOR - $5.97
The Outfit - $8.97
King Kong 360 - $10.97
YuGiOh GX something GBA - $12.97
Pokemon Ruby - $12.97
Nintendogs Daschund - $18.97
Nintendogs Chihuahua - $16.97
Paper Mario - $8.97

there were some others - one of the ratchet games maybe? Also one of the NFS games for xbox was 9.97

Well, they took your return, so whoever swapped their used system for a new one could have just used a similar story.
Picked up a couple of Microsoft Xbox controllers for $9.99 each. They'd been $29.99 for as long as I can remember.
S controllers? The original big controllers? Which ones were they exactly?

OP updated to this point except for those games that I didn't know what system they were for. If you report a price, please give the full title of the game, the system it's for, and the exact price, if you can. For example, RE for the Gamecube could be Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4. I didn't want to assume, so I left it off the list.

I saw an NFS: Underground for Xbox at that price.

Also, since I don't check this thread much, sorry if these are repeats but:

PS2 Onimusha 2- $3.97
PS2 NBA Live 06- $6.97??? I want to say. Pretty sure about this.

I think I saw a Ratchet too, but I can't remember which one or the price.

Sorry, I'll try to be a little more helpful the next time I go ;)
I hadn't been to Sears in forever.

Picked up 2 Halo green S controllers for the Xbox $12.XX , the salesperson cussed at me for getting the last 2.:booty:

It's an older game and like I said my Sears had it for $3.97 but to me one of my favorites in the series.. gotta love the fight you have on that beach with the rendered background...
Which was it, $14.99 or $19.99?
between when I saw the game and posted was quite a stretch of time, a bunch of games were marked $14.99/19.99, thinking back it's all just a blur, and I'm really not confident enough to give a definitive answer... sorry. I haven't been to that particular SEARS lately (it's quite a ways away). Really not sure.

I visted a different Sears store the only copy of Paper Mario TTYD I saw last month was gone. This particular store is putting UPC stickers over the original UPC on many games as a result when I did price checks I got higher prices than the prices quoted in this thread or I got the same prices as before no drops. I have found many awesome deals at this store in the past I was very disappointed.

Star Wars kotor $9.99
Outrun 2 $9.97
Harry Potter goblet of fire XBox $14.97
Splinter Cell pandora tomorrow XBox $15.97
