The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!

Sears I work at (southpoint in durham, nc) has 3.97 Ape Escape 3 and some other random 21.97 stuff, such as Pokemon Trozei.

As for stores having no clearance - having games this cheap means the Asst. Mgr. of that dept. pays no attention to the video game section. Once games get so old (past 8 months or so), we're given notice to return them to the distributor. If this isn't done (and usually isn't given these managers are more concerned with the appliance business there), the games sit there and slowly, very slowly, go down in price. Usually one incremental markdown per month happens automatically.

Hope that helps.

Was able to pick up:

iconxbox_r2.gif
MechAssault (Best of PH) $1.47
iconxbox_r2.gif
Project Gotham Racing (PH) $2.97
icongamecube.gif
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance $3.47
Logitech Cordless Action Controller for PS2 $9.97

A lot of the reported prices are also going on at the Sears in Greenwood, IN...

PS2 Ape Escape 3 - $3.97
GC Mario Strikers - $5.97
X360 DOA4 - $16.97
PSP soft case + wrist strap - $3.97
PSP battery - $7.97

There were a handful of other games on the clearance rack, but most of them were either cheap as hell anywhere else (Metal Gear Acid 2), Jampacks, or not cheap at all (GBA FFIV for $21.97, for example). I snagged a soft case for my PSP; been waiting for one for a long time.

The Sears here has an old Live kit with Project Gotham Racing 2 for $23...can I use the live card for my 360? Thanks guys!

From what I've been told yes you can.

back again today I checked on the prices for 360 faceplates - they're all $3.97 now here too, I also was told there was one more $4.97 Eye Toy so I grabbed it.

Ooooo seems my sears is attempting to clear out all this old stuff. Clearance items were all put on various tablesand are an additional 60% off.

360 Chrome Hounds $9.59
PSP Astonishia Story $4.00
PSP Metal Gear Solid Portable OPs $8.00
PSP carry case & cloth $1.59
PSP logitech playgear clear case $4.79
512 Zmate USB jump drive $3.00
Sony Sony NW-E307 1gb mp3 player $17.00

Man, what are you guys saying to get the mgr to sell you the XBL cards. Everytime I go in the same dude just cuts one out of the box and GIVES it to me! (The 3-month ones)

Ive gotten 6 months total so far for free, but the guys say the cards arent in the system anymore and Im like , "can you sell me all of them for cheap?"

But he just continues to cut em out of the box and hand em over to me!! lol

i just dont wanna have to go into Sears once a week for the next 2 months!! lol

I have used old Live kits and cards three times on my 360.

My SEARS refuses to mark things down... Old Live card for 39.99, Halo Triple pack 49.99, etc. Plenty of games there so once they drop, I'll go to town.

Hum I just got back from sears. Did some searching in the cage and found

Logitech Harmony Xbox 360 Remote 79.96 -60% = $31.98
Xbox 360 20GB Hard Drive 79.96 -60% = $31.98

I came home to do some research before I purchased them. Seems like a really good price on the remote but are the harddrives worth picking up at this price? They had 2 that I could see. I don't have a 360 so this might be a good chance to upgrade a cheap core

Good finds...i believe the 20 gig hd still retails for $100

How are you getting 60% off?

Manager special or something. All pink tag clearance items are 60% off. Most of the pink tag stuff is spread out on tables but quite a bit is still hidden in the cages. The 60% has to be entered manually and requires a managers approval each time, So everytime I get rung up I have to wait 5 minutes for a paged manager to come down.

Those are GREAT prices. I'd jump on that remote.

I went to my local Sears today and they had NOTHING. So just to reiterate, I'm looking for a cheap 12 month Live subscription and a copy of Ape Escape 3. I'd gladly pay a few extra bucks for anyone who went through the trouble to get these for me!

yeah my store has an extra 50% on pink tagged clearance games/accessories. The manager has gotten to know me ( have gone about 6 times and bought a handful of games) and smiles everytime she comes to approve the extra 50% off. She is glad someone is buying the clearance games and getting them out of the store.

Hot Shoys PSP either rings up for full price as a GH version or they re-stocked and they raised the price. Just a YMMV to look out for.

Took a couple back today at a different store.
Most games are not reduced as found in this thread (many at least 3 drops behind) I had the receipt from the other store and they would not match a store less than 10 miles away...sigh...
Did find a hidden $24 Wavebird and a 12 month live for $23. 1 month lives were marked $6.97 and rang $1.97 ....
One Mario GBA (dammit can't remember as it was 1 of three) rang up "not on file", young man would not sell it and said it would be returned...? lol
Oh well, wavebird was a find....

Went to my local Sears, they had 2 of the Logitech Harmony XBox 360 remotes and 1 XBox 360 20GB Hard drive marked exactly the same as above, each at $79.96 pink-tagged and all. When I asked the guys working there to check the prices they came up as marked, with no additional discount. If you check the pink tags they have the month that they were reduced on them and they said July. When I questioned again I was told that they would probably be going down soon.....WTF! I asked when and just got blank stares. :argue:

Mine is marked as Sep. Pretty sure the store doesn't have any control on the scanned price. They just eventually get marked down by corporate. Only reason I got mine so cheap was because of the 60% override.

One funny thing is that the guy ringing me up didn't want to give me the 60% at first. He pointed to the pink tag and said it's already marked off 20%. I pointed at the sign right next to him and after he took a moment to read it he gave me the extra 60%.

I purchased the controller but still on the fence about the harddrives. I stashed them near the back of the cage just in case I change my mind. I'm hoping they up the 60% to something better. Apparently it went from 30% to 60% rather quickly.

Bah. Found an unmarked Drill Dozer for GBA tonight, which scanned as out of their system. *Somehow*, they claim to have found another one, at $11.97. What-the-heck-ever. It's a good thing that I already own this game, or I'd have been pretty upset about it.

Happened to me with a DS charger last year. They also said they couldn't sell it. It was stickered $3.97 so I asked if he could just sell it for that price but he wouldn't.

If you can find someone that has the Sears product SKU for that specific game, give it to the Sears employee to enter into the computer--and it will bring up a price for the game. I've bought several this way.

Picked upthese last night:
:ps2: Rampage Total Destruction $3.97
:ps2: Sonic Mega Collection Plus $7.97
:360: Rumble Roses $5.97
:psp: Metal Gear Acid 2 $5.97
:ds: Magnetica $8.97

The Sears in the big mall in Schaumburg, IL has the 50% off pink tag going on. Not any pink tag, it has to end in .97.

Picked up:
Field Commander PSP 14.97 - 7.49 = 7.48
Blue 360 Face Plate 2.97 - 1.49 = 1.48

anything else worth picking at that sears?

I visited the sears in Costa Mesa last night, they did have a number of clearance games, but the clearance price on a number of items was higher than the regular price. I even had them price check the items I was interested in. As an example the 360 Arcade was marked at 31$.

Those folks are just plain idiots, very disappointing

What I look for and what you look for may be two completely different things. But I really don't think there was anything outstanding there.

There never is lol.

Field Commander PSP 14.97 - 7.49 = 7.48. I checked my local Sears at Independence Center (MO) is rangup $20 yestersday. Oh well, it take more times to drop down $7.48. :(

At a guess, being so close to the Sears Holdings HQ Campus in Hoffman Estates
(where my big bro now works in their email marketing division)
, the Sears and Kmarts around this area may mark down all the games on the clearance lists? And not just the seemingly random titles that the stores in the rest of the country mark down. The reason I'm thinking this is that the titles that sears and kmart have in stock which have been reported as marked down are the marked down price. I'm used to half of the titles reported as being marked down still being full price in my atlanta area stores.

Prolly not communicating this well, and my theory could be completely wrong. *shrugs*
Prolly not communicating this well, and my theory could be completely wrong. *shrugs*
I understand what your saying :) Usually with the K Mart or Sears by me all or most of the (killer) games people are finding at about $10 or less are either long gone or still in double digits. I think I've found a total of 3 games around $5 at my K Mart 1 clearly marked, one kind of buried in the back corner that you couldn't see that I only found as I asked the lady at the electronics to open the case for me and when I was at K Mart a couple of weeks ago they had the few (about 10) xbox games left at my store on the bottom of the case with 360 stuff one of which was Psychonauts which must have been buried and forgotten about till this. The later two didn't have the right prices (tags were still at about $30).

I went out looking for Rogue Galaxy when it was $15 with 30% off and had no luck so it's kind of frustrating seeing so many people finding it at $10 now over the last week or so. I actaully liked the Blue Light days better as while not as cheap usually I had a better chance at finding something I had a good interest in getting.

IATCAG has been to the K Mart by my house before and IIRC he pretty much verified that the clearance selection when he was at my store was sub par compared to the average K Mart :D

They tried that crap with me once, and I just asked for a manager. Manager comes by, looks at the pink tag, says "ring it up as blah blah blah" and that was it. I was out the door with a Mario GBA for $31 and some change...

Swung by Sears in Frisco, TX today. Picked up:

Metal Gear Acid 2 (PSP) $3.97
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GCN) $6.97
Oddworld: Strangers Wrath (XBX) $9.99

This Sears still carries a ton of games, I must have been in there for 30 minutes looking through everything. Was hoping to find more clearance GameCube games, but the selection of those was pretty small.

went to sears and was a little disappointed. they had no idea of the 50% off extra at the 2 sears i went to. but i could have gotten metal gear ac!d 2 for $3 instead of $5.97. oh well.

can anyone tell me what this promotion is exactly so when i go visit i can explain it to them properly? cause there were no signs anywhere. like what does it say in the receipt?

The games have pink tags on them and the bins they are in have a sign that say take an additional 50% off clearance price. The manager has to come approve the transaction when the cashier rings the games up. This is how my Sears has been the last few times I bought clearance games. But I think the additional % off is YMMV because a Sears I went to in another city had no additional 50% off its clearance items.

Yes it's YMMV and on a store by store basis. And if your Sears has no pink tags on the games like my local one does (all games are tagged full price with a few exceptions), you will stand little to no chance on the extra 50% off.

No pink tag sale at my store. They took away the "$19.99 and under" bins and put a few of the discounted games in cardboard displays above the "next gen" glass case. I saw a copy of Rumble Roses and Dead or Alive 4 for the 360. I didn't get them because I don't have a 360 but I might go back and get them in case some of you out there have been looking for them.

Stopped by a Sears today, there was a sign that said 50% off on clearanced games but got shot down when I tried to get it on the Harmony 360 remote. :(

Did the sign actually specify games only? My stores signs just said the sale applied to items with pink tag items (didn't specify items on tables). Different workers had different opinions on what items I could apply the 50% to though, one said stuff on the table only, another said any item that is on clearnance, etc. Try a different employee next time. If the wording does not specify games only then stick to your guns.

It's a nice controller. Not 100.00 nice but if you can get it for 30-40 then go for it.
